  1. Love the one of them both frog dogged on the floor
  2. was that the arab stallion who used to do endurance races when he was in his late 20's? Cant recall his name but I think I'd know if it I heard it. fancy remembering that. it was so many years ago. this ones name was Aeneas and he won 5 tom quilty 100 mile buckles without a single vetout. considering the average vetout rate was 60% n more. then went on to win ironwoman races against horses a third his age. with margins of half and 1/4 of a mile Yep, that's the one! Aeneas I believe he was dual registered as an Australian Stock Horse. What is your connection to him?

  4. that was great! After seeing that I think there's quite a market for dog jockstraps.
  5. ooh sorry for the confusion, I didn't make this video, I found it on another whippet forum.
  6. but they'd still be faster than most everyone else's dogs here.
  7. who delivered it? I would've thought it was supposed to be signed for. Hey, just had a brilliant idea. Say it never arrived, maybe the delivery company will have to compensate and provide another one!!! ;)
  8. Those boobs are so long she looks like she's got extra legs
  9. I wont watch the vid, but that's fantastic that the vet patched him up and that you are set up to care for him while he recovers. good job
  10. I love my 2 primes, the 50mm is good but zooms definitely have their place.
  11. I check this thread regularly and it always makes me smile at the least, and sometimes laugh out loud. Dogs really do have the most amazing sense of fun dont they. :D
  12. very exciting!! sounds like you've done well. Does this mean we'll be jostling for position if I go to Tooradin? as to camera bags I've just got a Lowenpro Nova 170 AW but it doesn't fit the big 70-200 in there. Yours might fit cause it's a bit smaller I think. I really need a bigger bag.
  13. I prefer #1 but the eyes need fixing. If you post these pics in the photo forum I am sure some clever DOLer can edit them in photoshop or similar for you and probably blur or remove the background. I cant, but some one can.
  14. my whippets have killed 2 blue tongues, I haven't seen any for a few years now. they constantly chase the little skinks and kill some but at least they have alot of undergrowth to hide in.
  15. Is it just my perverted mind or does that bubble look rather phallic?
  16. so, next question, how do you store your puppy teeth? I put mine in between sticky tape and it lives in an old jewelers ring box on my bedside table.
  17. Yep, I also found some in the carpet, I am prett sharp eyed, I even got some of the tiny little front one, as you can imagine the puppy versions of them on whippets aren't much bigger than a grain of sand.
  18. You'd never know she's blind would you. That's lovely to see her playing like that. I hope she gets a good owner who can ensure she has a fantastic life.
  19. what is it about other dogs using iggies as pillows?
  20. Because you can stop down to 1.8 or 1.4 depending on the lens, they are great for portraits and/low light, you can get that lovely shallow depth of field with them, where the background has the soft blur. If the dogs aren't too far away they're also good for action shots because you can set a fast shutter speed and capture the action.
  21. Years ago I nearly killed my 2 whippets. I was up in Albury and had taken my mare to go riding with a friend. I didn't realise how hot it was up there on hard clay gravel roads. We'd gone a little way and it wasn't too bad but then it started to heat up and we had a long way to get back to the float. The poor whippets, I dont know how they made it. Thankfully there was a dam nearby and they just collapsed in it. I took them home and they were really flat for a couple of days. That was about 25 years ago, I'm older and wiser now.
