  1. I tried to follow the instructions and I only got as far as making the lassoo and inverting it, but I didn't know how to create the levels layer, so I went down in a heap there. They always assume a certain level of understanding, or perhaps intelligence, sigh
  2. well that proves how dopey I am then cause I dont know how to use photoshop
  3. thanks JS, even though this is in Mays challenge I think it fits pretty well here too, even better than the previous one.
  4. I know it's finished but I found this challenge particularly helpful to me as even though I've got a whizz bang camera, I am not kidding myself, I know I have very much a "happy snap" attitude and dont put enough thought into compositon, so I will continue to post pics in here. Thanks Ash Just showing off my good whippets recall. Come to Mummy darlings!
  5. I hope this qualifies, I think it's a bit over exposed, I might go back and see if can fix that later. Anyway, it's a typical happening on our daily walk. Feather, the self appointed fun police making Tag run for his life.
  6. very cute puppy and gorgeous pics. I love the "Elbie with rawhide bone" and I love how you've labelled them, although stating the obvious I find it really sweet: Elbie waiting for food, Elbie resting on deck. Elbie on his cushion etc.
  7. I've emailed Mack twice with no response as yet so I will ask here to see how those with Macks did it. When filling in the online forms it asks for the amount, then underneath it asks if that's in US, English, or Euros. So, so I calculate the amount in US for them? That's OK, I can do that, I just want to know that is actually what they want, also do I put in the full amount I paid, including shipping, or just the actual cost of camera only?
  8. Evolving they're both hilarious!
  9. Yep, sorry I hate it when people abbreviate and assume everyone will know what they're talking about.
  10. You could've stuck a pin in him and watched him blurt around the room like a balloon, the kids would've loved it!
  11. I had a good lens on it too, although I might have done better with a 300mm. the 7D fires off 8 fps.
  12. So, finally today it arrived, now I have to get them to send me another invoice for the camera that is dated within the warranty period, I wonder how long that's going to take! :
  13. I had no idea this went on, I must be naive. http://www.sltrib.com/opinion/ci_14875823
  14. thanks everyone but I still feel I could've got these shots with my little (dear departed) 400D I want more from this!! When I finally get what I want it will take your breath away.
  15. This makes me think of something my father used to ask us when we were kids. What happens when an irresistable force meets an immovable object? I still dont know but it popped into my head when I saw this.
  16. errrr......noice doggy Imagine how intense this would've looked if it was razor sharp. I am working on it anyway.
  17. You should come along with your camera next time. I used the 70-200 I just wish I could get pics as sharp as I've seen them on POTN using the 7D. I know it's technique. sigh
  18. I'm trying to learn this camera and it's not easy, so many AF options. I expected these to be sharper but I know it's not the camera, it's me. Conditions were difficult, uneven ground and a high fence that had my elbows level with my eyes and my chin pretty much resting on the fence. the number 5 in the second pic here is Subsoil, she ran 2nd today and she's a litter sister to the fabulous Drill 'em, bred and owned by my friends. Drill 'em has won over $250,000 in prize money so far.
  19. I love it, no idea how to do it though, unless I buy the funny little camera.
  20. a year already?! I remember when you got her. I love the pictures. You always take them from such creative angles, and they always work.
  21. They both look to be in great conditon, lean and fit looking to me.
  22. If this is a frequent event maybe you should keep some Lectric on hand. You buy it from the laundry aisle in the supermarket, it looks like rock salt. If he eats something you dont want him to put a couple of large crystals down his throat and take him outside, he should sick it up within about 5 - 10 minutes. This information was given to me by a vet but you might want to get your own vets opinion on it first.
  23. This will be fun, I wonder how many peeing and pooing dogs we'll get this month hahahaha
