that is certainly the case with Puck as he has a deformed leg and foot. I've used all the corn pads now and picked and snipped as much of the hardened skin away. I'm still rubbing eulactol into it. I wouldn't be surprised if it reforms but for now it's alot better than it was.

That's a lovely thing to do with your son. If he's already interested in birds that could become a life long passion and shape his whole life........ in a really good way!
-
good on ya! I've still never printed any of my photos, although other people have. They're a great reminder for you of good times had.
-
yep, that's a good enough reason.
-
I was just wondering how it was done, thanks

He's got the last corn pad on. I'll leave it on till it drops off. I wanted to cut some of the calloused dead skin away but I was a bit scared I'd cut too deep or the wrong part. I even tried the potato peeler!

thanks, the 2nd pic is lovely. I dont even know what dragging the shutter is. I'd better read up.

I thought some of "our" wedding photographers here might know.

I'm really sorry. It must be a shock for you, your fears realised. Take some time to get your head around it. I hope he can get meds to control the pain and give you some thinking time.

far out! well what ever I did it must have been OK because he wants me back to do more!
-
It's awful to be worrying like this. I know how the mind runs wild and fears the worst and that you just need to tell people who understand. I hope he's going to be OK. Please let us know the outcome.

truth be told, more dogs can do it than not.
-
Letting them watch the others can help too.

Yep, it happens and is even sometimes the reason greyhounds end up not racing. If that is the reason you got your greyhounds dont let it put you off trying them out though. Training them to race can be quite different to lure coursing. Some dogs like one kind of chasing and not another. There's a whippet who comes to our straight drag lure days and wasn't interested in chasing but when we set up a lure course she was a completely different dog and was mad for it. Just something else to consider is the reason you have those particular greyhounds. Were they ex racers and if so, why were they retired? If it was due to injury make sure it's safe for them to try coursing.

How the hell did he manage that the silly baby. I hope he's OK and you haven't hurt yourself from your adrenaline fuelled super human strength now that you've cooled down.

has anyone got any advice, tips, camera settings, tricks etc. to get sparkly chandeliers without the lights blowing out all the other detail?
-
they are working but I didn't keep it up long enough. I just put one back on him last night. I've got 2 pads left, so I'll try to be more consistent and use them for the next 2 nights. I've also been rubbing eulactol heel balm onto the pad and it's softening it. After only about 4 days I was able to pick a very hard little cap off the corn and there was a small hole left, but it didn't seem to hurt him when I did it. All dead flesh I think.

It's not somewhere I usually go, it was in Melbourne, near the Speigeltent

I sure hope they can swimm

I think most of us have probably seen that famous Japanese painting known as the wave. I was walking by a shop last week and just glanced at this and thought it was a different version by the artist. But then I looked more closely  5F6A0517_1 by kirislin, on Flickr

work it baby, the camera loves you!

Even Basset hounds can do it. This is Woody, formerly from SA but now living in Vic. I suspect there's a few DOLers who know him. 5F6A0816dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr Go Woodeeeeeeee! 5F6A0813dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr

I still have that little dog tag you can see in the 2nd photo, it's been on my keyring ever since her death.

It was probably the worst day of my life, the day she was killed, and I deliberately didn't record the date as one I'd want to remember, but my mother happened to tell me yesterday that it was the anniversary of my first sighthound, Magic's death. 28 years have passed now and I still think of her every day. She changed the course of my life. Thankyou my sweet, crazy beautiful little girl. The fastest, dog in the world. :D xx 5F6A1805dpp by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A1806dpp by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A1807dpp by kirislin, on Flickr

I saw the xrays of Wags. The spine was separated and off at different angels.
