Yarra Valley. I dont have a rifle anymore and too many houses around me anyway. I'd have to get Neko the Italian Greyhound and my 3 aged whippets to pull it down. I posted it on a hunting forum and was amazed at how many blokes had no idea, kept thinking it was wombat or kangaroo. I'd expect hunters to have a better idea. Fair enough that we 'civvies' aren't sure, but hunters should know.

I get lots of 'roo poo here and this looks different. I agree that it's definitely not wombat, the pellets are too small, there's too many of them and wombats usually place their poos on something, even in a pot plant of mine the other day, cheeky bugger.

I found this poo in my paddock this afternoon. It looks pretty fresh. I dont think it is from a kangaroo or wallaby, (the latter I've never seen on my property) and I'm thinking it might be deer poo. Can anyone identify it? Who did this? by kirislin, on Flickr

It's just occurred to me that I'm cooking roast chicken for the dogs this evening because it's Neko's 2nd birthday, but I dont have enough for myself and will probably have to make do with toast or cuppa soup. Doh! Roast chicken for me? Roast Chicken for dinner? by kirislin, on Flickr Yummy! Bring it on! Chickennnnnnn! Yummmy! by kirislin, on Flickr

Happy Birthday
-
It's my darling girls 2nd birthday today. Happy Birthday to my crazy, cheeky, happy, loving, demanding little minx. Not the weather we had on the day she was born. I hope to get some birthday photos of her but they might just be her snuggled under a blankie today. the only one we got on film. So the puppy who turned out to be Arkey was born at 12.29pm Birth of 3rd puppy, boy #2 8/8/13 by kirislin, on Flickr

You're so lucky being able to have the ultrasounds. Not long now then. Good luck with being the midwife. It will be 2 years tomorrow since Widge had her puppies so it's been on my mind alot lately, I will love seeing it repeated all over again with Jolie so you have to post lots and lots of photos.

Have you actually been out to see them and their dogs? Perhaps it's worth a visit if they're not too far away. Maybe they gathered enough information from talking to you that they felt you'd be a good owner and didn't feel the need to discuss further. I dont know.

Warning To Dog Owners 1080 Baiting Happening Soon In Victoria
Kirislin replied to Kirislin's topic in General Dog Discussion
I was thinking about that, and all the birds of prey who eat the poisoned victims. It's supposed to be a dreadful death too. -
saw this on facebook. "WARNING: Dog Lovers Please note: DELWP is going to be putting down 1080 Poison to control foxes from Monday 3rd Aug - Friday 18th December Off Valley Farm Road in Healesville. They will also be doing areas in Marysville, Rubicon, Big River, Toolangi State forests, Lake Eildon National Park & Cathedral Range State Park. This bait can be lethal to dogs, so please keep them restrained if in these areas. There is a delay in the poison action of 1080 and animals that have ingested 1080 animal bait products and may die on your property. Contact your vet immediately if you notice any unusual or uncharacteristic behaviour."

wonderful photos! All of them. Enables us to see life that we wouldn't normally get to experience.

I've done it a couple of times. I've had a friend come and feed them twice a day but they were left overnight for 2 nights I think. I had no choice at the time. Previously I left them in a kennel and they were extremely stressed and smelly when I got them back. When I left them at home alone they were just very happy to see me. Nothing was trashed, I suspect they slept most of the time as they still had access to my bed. It would probably depend on the individual dog how well they handled it. I dont think I'd do it with Neko, the Italian Greyhound.

sorry T. Glad she's not hurting anymore.

Mum was an Adelaide breeder (well she is still in Adelaide but has retired from breeding) so unless your Pixie came from Adelaide it would be unlikely. Mum's prefix was Jungho. no, not her. I dont know what Pixies pedigree was, Mum might still have it somewhere. She was a sweet little dog, I remember that much.
-
oooh I wonder if Pixie came from your Mum. I always thought she came from Little Lemon Kennels but her name in the book is written Melva Pixie so I'm wondering if that was her registered name. Her DOB was 21/2/60 Mum's written in the back of the book Sat 10/9/60 6 1/2months Pixie on heat-not feeling well. Pixie died when she was 13 years old and I've suspected for a while she might have died from pyometra I remember that she was sick for a while and my father refused to take her to the vet. My mother couldn't drive and never had any money so was totally reliant on him. Poor Pixie, I still remember how upset Mum was when she died.
-
Yep, that's what amused me too.
-
I heard it on the ABC radio station 774 and I tend to think them more credible.
-
Yes, I heard about this on the news this morning. He's pretty lucky he stood up to them and refused.
-
they look like they're saying to you, where are you going to sit?
-
dont waste your money. I deliberately bought 2 luscious and ENORMOUS sofas thinking there'll be room enough for everyone and more, but all the dogs still gravitate to where ever I am sitting.
-
the Peke we had as a kid had a spaniel coat, not the great fluffy things they have now. I dont see them like that anymore.
-
Yep, it IS a Tibbie. Inside the photos are of Pekes, and they've certainly changed alot, but not that much. Our Peke looked much like the ones inside the book but they still had squashed faces, not like the cover photo dog.
-
Found this book at my Mums place. Got when she got our Peke Pixie in 1960. 5F6A1158_1 by kirislin, on Flickr
