  1. Slightly OT but I have to say, I think Pudding is a REALLY CUTE NAME!!
  2. That's wonderful news, do they think she'll make a full recovery, or is it too soon to know?
  3. Hoping Pudding is improving even more today.
  4. I love the one with the cat in the middle. It's like 'yes, we're all being good, we're all getting along, we weren't doing anything naughty' very cute.
  5. You'll have to change your siggy too
  6. congratulations! wise choice, I can thoroughly recommend them. I love her wayward ear, she's very cute. Maybe you'll come to a whippet fun day sometime?
  7. I've been hoping all day, wonderful news. Get better Pudding.
  8. I'm sorry to read that Pudding isn't going well. This probably goes without saying but just in case you've had so much on your mind that you've overlooked it, please scan your yard for remains of the chicken and remove them safely. Sending positive thoughts for little Pudding
  9. Is it pyometra? I hope she's going to be OK. You must be feeling disappointed that you cannot breed from her.
  10. that's Jolie. I'm assuming she was safe inside with her babies since she wasn't mentioned.
  11. you clutch at any good news in a situation like this. I'm so glad Rupert can come home and that Toby has improved. Hoping for the best for Pudding. Thanks for posting, I've been hovering over this thread waiting and hoping for some positive news.
  12. Hoping for good news this morning Kirty.
  13. that is shocking and terrible. I cannot imagine what you're going through right now. I hope they can all recover. I'm thinking of you all. If the chicken was put to sleep by a vet could it be the drugs used that is poisoning them?
  14. this is the cutest photo! Look at the expressions on them, and that puppy! so serious
  15. I agree, I hope you've already been. Please let us know the outcome.
  16. Yes I expected comments about his nails. They aren't actually very long and the bent looking toes are just the shape of his feet, the whole litter are like that. I'll take some more photos after trimmed nails so you can see his twisty toes, but they aren't my concern, it's his pastern I'm posting photos for comment and advice. I've been icing it and it doesn't seem to have any heat in it anyway, or be sore to the touch. I'm pretty sure it's some kind of tendon injury. He's happy enough, not limping at a walk but if he comes to the park he will have to stay on a lead. No running for a while.
  17. OMG, that's laughable and shocking at the same time.
  18. You have beautiful birds in your area hopenfox, and you've captured them perfectly. You have a positive plague of honey eaters!
  19. Many thanks. I've got pretty beautiful subjects though. :D
  20. The YVWSRC just had our 4th fun day of the year. Although we started off in 2006 as, and are still in name, a whippet (social) racing club, word is getting out into the general dog owner population and amongst breed clubs, and we're seeing more and more different breeds attending. I think some show people are enjoying something different and possibly with a view to introducing their dogs to the lure in preparation for the newly recognised sport of Lure Coursing. What ever the reason, we are getting huge attendances and lots of interesting and exciting dogs coming along. So yesterday we had Scottish Deerhounds, Borzois, Salukis, Afghans, a Great Dane, a Basset hound, Italian Greyhounds, Whippets (of course) Greyhounds, Nova Scotia Tolling Duck Retrievers, an aged Kelpie, and a few other mixes and probably some breeds I've forgotten. The photos can be seen here. I've been with the club since the beginning and so far have never missed a meeting. This will be my 8th year as volunteer photographer and I still love doing it. I never tire of watching dogs run.
  21. Hey! Pick on someone your own size! oh hang on, she is your size. Well then run Neko! Run! 5F6A1800dpptcr by kirislin, on Flickr
  22. that could have been tragic. How lucky for the dog. I hope it's feet are OK
  23. muscle? tendon? ligament? one of them. It doesn't seem sore if I touch it. Icing it now while he's just dozing.
  24. I'm pretty sure this is the same thing Tag did to his leg when he was a young boy, maybe 8 or 9 years ago. He'll be 11 next month and the poor boy's done it again. Last week I noticed he had a slight limp but seemed happy and was still running around so I put it out of my mind. Yesterday I took him to the slipping track and he and the other dogs had a ball running up and down. Then I noticed him limping and spotted this. Any other suggestions on treatment? Oh, rest goes without saying. He's not lame on it at a walk and it doesn't seem sore when I touch it, although I'm not poking around at it.
