  1. They see me and all the dogs frequently, but they knew the ones who chase them. I wasn't attacked, I never have been in the 17 years I've been going there, and they ignored Tag and Feather but watched and swooped naughty Puck and Neko.
  2. Today while walking at the local park the magpies started swooping 2 of my dogs, Puck and Neko, but they ignored Tag and Feather. I can only surmise that they recognised the 2 who chase them and the 2 who ignore them. Feather and Tag never chase the Maggies, but Puck and Neko think it's a great game. Looks like the tables will be turned now it's breeding season. Those birds aren't silly.
  3. usually the mother and siblings teach them a bit about bite inhibition. I wonder how much time she spent with Mum.
  4. Hmmm, probably their best thing, their speed. If my boys ever get a chance, they will chase timid dogs at the park. They think it's a great game. Of course now I know they're likely to do it if given the opportunity it almost never happens because I'm constantly scanning in the distance for dogs they might chase so then clipping their leads back on. Feathers quirkiness is getting a bit tiresome of late but I indulge her because she is old. Neko the IGs worst, or most annoying trait is her barking. I know with some individuals their owners might say difficulty in house training, or just plain dirty with that aspect, but I've been luck with Neko, although it took a long time to train her.
  5. that tail sling is clever, but what about male dogs. Would they pee on it? Oh, she mentions once the tail is healed to cut the tape off with blunt nosed scissors, but you can just rub oil into the bandage and the glue will release. Then of course you have an oily tail to wash.
  6. Looks to have a crease in it like the bush tucker mans hat. Remember him? Was it Les Hiddens? I used to think he was hot. Anyway, well spotted.
  7. geeze, I'd love to take him for my mother. She's just about to move house to a warmer climate and used to have Chis but she's so old and frail now I'd worry that the dear little dog would outlive her and then have to go through the ordeal of rehoming again. I hope he gets a new loving home where he can live out his days in peace and be a happy little dog.
  8. what causes jaundice? I hope she will be OK.
  9. I'm sorry it's come to this but if you feel absolutely certain then please dont make her suffer.
  10. Feather whines. She wants me to evict someone from the bed she wants to sleep in. The blankets aren't fluffed up right. She doesn't want to walk all the way round the house to come in through the dog door, I am supposed to let her in via the kitchen door. She wants her coat on. She wants her coat off. She wants me to lift the blankets so she can get underneath. She wants me to lift her off the bed. She's over 13 years old now and a bit funny in the head, so I tend to indulge her because I dont know how much longer I'll have her, and I love the annoying little crackpot.
  11. I'm the same with the off leash park near me, I generally dont go on weekends or after about 4pm weekdays
  12. definite no from me. I dont know what I'd do if I could not take them to the off leash park around the corner from me. I dont fancy going to dedicated dog parks. I had to edit my comment. I misread it. No, I dont fancy dog parks at all but off leash parks, yes my dogs and I love our local one. I'd be wary of going to one I didn't know though.
  13. I hope this goes viral and everyone knows never to let that rotten cow ever have another dog. How irresponsible to let her dogs go roaming to kill sheep, even after they'd already done it before. And what about the westie, who almost survived after she'd shelled out hundreds of $$ (pounds) on vets bills. Oh poor woman had to pay. What about the dead dog and the owners? I despise this woman.
  14. what's TNR? I'm for ridding Australia of ferals cats, but wish it could be a quick death for them.
  15. that was great, looks like you nearly took a wrong turn and it looked like another dog lunged at him once. I was surprised there aren't rules for passing, like that it is only on one side. When you got passed I got a surprise, it just shot past out of nowhere, although I assume you knew they were coming. It looks like fun for a fit person.
  16. I get what you're saying. So often I hear someone saying "s/he was the runt of the litter" with pride because they still have the dog and s/he' turned out to be a fantastic dog who's lived to old age. I suspect it was probably just the smallest in the litter, but not necessarily a runt. I would probably be attracted to the smallest puppy myself if it was still a healthy lively pup, mostly because with whippets they're all too big for my liking these days. But if it was listless and sickly as I would expect a runt to be, then no, I wouldn't want it, but a cute feisty little thing would probably appeal to me alot.
  17. How are they all now. Is Pudding fully recovered?
  18. It's probably any balls that do it, sticks too, if the dog's really addicted to catching things.
  19. do you throw a ball for her alot? I knew a woman whose dog was addicted to chasing and catching tennis balls and they were surprisingly abrasive and wore her young dogs teeth down.
  20. I just read in the description on that page it warns against your dog wearing this muzzle where it's legal to carry firearms. I'm assuming they mean someone might shoot the dog, it's a possibility I suppose. I want to get a tiny Neko sized one as her racing muzzle.
  21. I often read here how some dog owners dont like strangers coming up and patting their dog. I usually suggest putting a muzzle on the dog because it will keep people away. Well, I've seen the perfect muzzle, this will have them positively running away from you and your dog.
  22. Look at that guilty grubby beard!!!!! That tells he's been up to naughtiness.
