  3. I was surprised to read once that with Great Danes many of the colours are kept separate, so effectively they're almost different breeds that just have a similar shape. Just my opinion, I'm sure I'll get lots of disagreement. I wish they were all allowed to be mixed, except if it causes more health problems such as the merle gene.
  4. I wish colour was immaterial, but in most breeds it's not. We'd have a larger gene pool then. The only time I agree with it being excluded is if it causes health problems, such as deafness etc. It's my own opinion though.
  5. You might be able to get a butcher to order them in for you. A friend of mine gets his family butcher to buy in bulk turkey necks for him so I think it would work for chicken necks as well. They usually come in 12-15kg boxes
  6. hmmm not sure I think the mouth feeding is a good idea, but interesting shots nonetheless.
  7. Wow! I love them all! the hair flick is fabulous, did you show the girl? I bet she loves it too.
  8. is Don already going grey, he's only a puppy himself! I love the little understudy.
  9. He does look good for 84 and I think he's very handsome too. Was he a "looker" when he was younger? He's a bit Peter O'Toolish. I love the far away look in his eyes. You should frame this one.
  10. Yes, I love her eyes. They make me melt too.

  13. Yep, my whippet Feather has the early greying gene (there is one in dogs just like there is in humans) and she started at 2 years old.
  14. this dog is listed as a whippet cross. I think it's a whippet / bedlington terrier but cant be sure. I've seen the cross before and they always look like tiny deerhounds, very lovely. I'd snap him up if I was in a position to do so, but I cant so all I can do is mention him here and hope he finds the perfect home. http://www.aaps.org.au/?project=tag-35936-whippet-x-whippet-height-male-8-years-onslow

  16. I read somewhere that there's a high suicide rate in veterinarians too.
  17. Not sure if this is in answer to my previous post. I didn't think the table was about intelligence, but I disagree with their classification of sighthounds as being dumb.
  18. My whippets aren't dumb. Looks like they classify all the independent hunting sighthounds as dumb. What have they based it on I wonder. I think they're dumb.
  19. If the image is facing left, it's dumb. It's in the key towards the top right of the 'map' Dogs facing backwards are supposedly dumb Oh! How dumb of me for not understanding  I'm obviously a lefty then.
  20. I'm not sure if I'm seeing all the information. Where does it rate their intelligence?
  21. Oh dear The twitching (even "talking) in sleep is normal, it's important that she leaves puppy alone while it's sleeping.
