  1. And if she's still in the breeders name then you best get the breeders agreeance to the leasing before going any further.
  2. All our guys are on Eagle pack power, great coats and pigment. Tried the Artemis briefly but wasn't liking what came out the other end lol The colourmax should have all the good stuff, like the kelp in it. I have tried livamol in the past, but i found that it gave the black coats a red tinge (beyond what the sun would do!).
  3. There is a supplement called colour max you could try Shellie. Not cheap, but might be worth a shot. Perhaps a complete diet change is required? It's certainly nothing i've ever seen
  4. No Sunbury numbers yet - and i only received my Vic Womens ones yesterday. Sunbury cheque was cashed on the 18/10.
  5. Haha - yeah i guess it isn't a little brag Still can't believe the two of them pulled it off! And i forgot to mention earlier - our newest addition Canyonlands Urban Legend (AI) went opposite baby in show. Talk about an exciting show :D
  6. I'll add a little brag here from saturday. Best In Show at the Siberian Husky Club of NSW championship show under breeder judge Mr Danny Brand (USA) was my boy Snofall Shake Rattle N Roll. Bitch challenge went to his sister Snofall Good Golly Miss Molly. Talk about an exciting double act :D
  7. I wouldn't put your boy on power if he has trouble maintaining weight, and he has no need of the extra energy it would supply him. Our dogs are on power for the energy they require (sled dogs who race all winter) but by no means does this food help them keep weight on, just helps them burn energy quicker We supplement with a fair bit of raw meat, and feed more power than we would other foods to help maintain weight. In the off season, my dogs normally go onto eagle pack natural (lamb and rice), and this works really well for them, and they maintain weight better on it. I don't like the original - has never done well with my dogs.
  8. Did you get an answer to a closer vet to use? We have had prog tests done at both woofpurnay and monash - but a quicker turn around time would be fantastic. Last time we did prog tests at monash it was an absolute nightmare - and the turn around time, even dropping off the blood ourselves was much too long by the time monash acted on the results.
  9. We didn't receive a sash for RBCC at Adelaide royal this year? All we got was a felt ribbon for 2nd in open bitch (bcc came from open as well).
  10. Tell her to come to the NSW Siberian Specialty at Erskine park next weekend. Lots of breeders to speak to and dogs to see :D
  11. Very odd. We always just go straight in off of flemington road to the racetrack car park. Usually around 7.30am ish... Perhaps this is something that needs to be reported to Estelle ASAP. She will be able to advise on what parking will be open.
  12. My dogs get good quality beef chunks with their dry food most nights (they are on either eagle pack natural or power) or they may get sardines or tuna if i don'thave meat on hand. Left overs if they are on hand (meat, veg, pasta, rice) also go in their meals. Usually if they get bones or chicken carcasses they don't get dry that meal. They also get water added to their dry food. I've been feeding this way since i got my first dog nearly 13 years ago and they are all in fantastic health. My dogs work hard in harness all winter and have always performed well on this diet.
  13. Contact Windchill - i'm sure they can custom make them for you
  14. In breeds where are a bitch may be working through the prime of her life, it's not unheard of for her to have a first litter once she is older. Many working Siberians & Alaskan Huskies have their first litter at age 6/7/8, and many have been known to have a litter at 9 or 10 (or even later). These bitches are in top physical condition, and if not having a litter would still be working hard past the age of 10. They would also regularly live to 14+
  15. My boys have never had a problem living together - though the oldest one has just been recently desexed. And our "boys club" of entire males that get thrown together over race season is growing and getting along without a problem. It helps that they know they would cop a whole heap of shit if they even thought of starting something ;)
  16. Well if they aren't sure she is pregnant, now is the time to take her to the vets and get her desexed. Even if she is pregnant, as long as she is not too far along, she may be desexed no problems. As for your boys parents - i can't say if they had any problems or not, but testing is the only way to to ensure you are not breeding with pre existing problems. Oh and the Siberian i knew with a luxating patella recovered alright, but i haven't heard from the owners in years so i don't know how she fared in later life.
  17. You need to get your boy to a specialist. No just another vet. It would be very rare for them to do both legs at once, as your boy will need his other leg to support his weight while the operated leg is healing. I know of siberians who have had luxating patellas before - though the only one i personally know of is a rescue dog i fostered. Obviously having got your dog from an unregistered breeder, she has not been health testing her dogs, and therefore would not have had his parents hip xrayed. It is so very sad when people continue to ignorantly breed without ensuring their dogs are health tested, nor do the research to find out the most simple of problems which are present across all breeds. I would also get your dog desexed when he goes in for his operation - and please beg the owners of his pups to get their dogs desexed, and obviously the bitch who is presently pregnant should have her puppies desexed also. This is the only way to ensure that serious problems are not continued through to future generations. As for the breeder of your boy - i have no polite words
  18. Oh yes - very Spethal!!! Looking even more spethal now i've combed out most of his coat
  19. lol - so you can imagine how shocking it is that my youngest boy eats between 2-3 cups of eagle power, plus a large portion of meat a day, and is "just" looking alright (ribes still visible though) - he sure does burn through more than any other sibe i know - its just not right
  20. Please keep her away from the cats. Most Siberian huskies will kill cats without blinking! As for the fence, great that she can't dig out of it, hopefully she won't try going over either. But just in case, come up with a secure place to keep her when you are not home to supervise. Also Siberians do not need alot of food - usually no more than say a cup of dried food, plus a handful of meat a day.
  21. I'm guessing good elbow would be scored, and elbow that has been operated on would be disqualified due to medical intervention. If the good elbow was fine, this should be enough to get by on i would think. Just get your vet to write a letter explaining the situation on the operated elbow.
  22. I split the interceptor chews. Seems to work alright, no worms, and very low risk of heartworm down here anyways.
  23. The funny thing is i'm only doing this for an interstate specialty - hadn't even thought to bother since its not like they hold any classes down here! As for the cover fee...your not wrong there!
  24. Can someone tell me how i move my dog across to the neuter register in Victoria? I can't get into the dogs vic website (lets not go into the technical failings there)and when i rang up the lady said i just need to send in the papers along with a letter asking to move the dog to the neuter register. That just doesn't sound right. Shouldn't there be a form? And in NSW i note they want to see the desexing cert - shouldn't that be the same down here? Of course i love how in NSW its free, yet in Vic they are charging $15...
