Poodle person here....never had a doggy smell with my dogs either. I would suggest visiting some poodle breeders for a refresher smell. I cant think of a larger breed dog that doesnt have an odor other than poodles. Portuguese water dogs? Not sure.

Love macro...just because it focuses on small things of unique beauty that we either take for granted or miss in our busy lives. Done well it intrigues me. Not a big fan of HDR generally, although some are ok... I passsionately dislike photoshopped glamour images (starshots wise) because frankly they dont capture the essence of the subject just an idealist image in a world that is way to judgemental anyway. Love natural portraits.

Practice and more practice...take photos of all kinds of subjects, even things that dont interest you. The more you handle your camera the more you develop.

Dobermans are the easiest dog to love. Kirty thank you for taking this boy on and giving him a the love and respect and kindness he so deserved. It looks like a matted small breed to me- that is not the fleece of a sheep there. Those matts have been earned from months of neglect. What part is there that is actually sheep like (other than the wool look). Heres a news story "Deranged woman takes rare red lamb for walk every day...she thinks its a dog" Poor puppy..I hope it has some future.

Remember a while ago Kirislin had a 'weird fly" thread. Well I have a weird bug here too...striped like a fly but is a pollinator like the bee, acts like a bee. It has stripes on the body and spots over the eyes (obviously no dress sense LOL). after researching a bit more I have found it is a hoverfly. as pictured here Amazing how many different bugs are around when you look a bit closer.

13/52 I don't like my dogs to beg at the table when we eat.. and my dogs don't beg, but know when dishes are cleared, scraps are theirs! Luci is very compliant to the rule, but cant resist watching from a distance, she believes the fake pot plant camouflages her intentions.....

FM..That is such a funny photo. How wonderful would it be to be able to go into another world away from the concerns of this world by sticking our heads in a plant pot!
