:champagne: Great news BB! Maybe the Blenheim will appear next generation??

It may be easier to find a good animal travel agent to help organise things for you or fill you in on exactly what you need. You will need to find an AQIS approved vet as well (when the time comes of course!) as a whole lot of blood tests etc will be required. With the 12 weeks old - no pre travel rabies shot, that is right. But minimum age to leave Australia is 11 weeks. So you need to book travel in that little window. Otherwise rabies shot will need to be given here before leaving - and I think it needs to be done 30 days before leaving!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend at Harden. The weather is perfect and I'm having show withdrawals... So... Does anyone have any results they can share? As usual Group 4 in particular, but any and all results are appreciated. I can get a little showing fix while stuck at home!! :D

Oh SBT I forgot to say I really like your new logo! It shows your dogs being active and healthy - a really great image! And a giggle at Fern Rebanne - I don't blame her for having had enough! Imagine all those pointy little teeth every time they wanted to drink...

Fantastic news Underfoot! Congratulations on all your babies. Sorry about your stillborn girl, but what a lovely surprise to get two more when you thought she was done!! :D Will be waiting with bated breath now to see how many Fee pops out for you Allerziet!!

x2 Mags. We have new neighbours with "outdoor only" cats. I'm wondering what is the point?? We've never had wildlife here killed and now do, and the old lady across the road has a vege garden full of cat poo. But "Oh, they just love hiding in her garden". My dogs won't hesitate to dispatch any cat, rat, mouse, rabbit, hare or fox they can catch in our yard. Luckily in NSW there is common sense in the Companion Animals Act and that is considered normal. Although I do recall the dogs did challenge a wombat once, but his growls and charges were too scary for them and he wandered on his way...

Yes mandatory reporting for dog attacks. But if you read the legislation as posted above - it is not considered an attack under law: (2) It is not an offence under this section if the incident occurred: (a) as a result of the dog being teased, mistreated, attacked or otherwise provoked, or (b) as a result of the person or animal trespassing on the property on which the dog was being kept, or © as a result of the dog acting in reasonable defence of a person or property, or (d) in the course of lawful hunting, or (e) in the course of the working of stock by the dog or the training of the dog in the working of stock. Not an offence, not an attack. Councils don't ned to be inundated with reports of every incident that happens with dogs that are lawfully contained.

Hopefully she's just feeling heavy & uncomfortable SBT. And Allerziet - it's like riding a bike... Don't worry. Let us know when she starts though!! :D Well... Must go and scrub my rug... again...

Woot! Go Underfoot!! We had an unpleasant morning. My alarm failed and I didn't wake up to let mum out. She chose this time to have catastrophic diarrhoea - on the carpet at the front door. Sigh. Poor girl, I felt so bad that she obviously wanted to get out. It didn't seem to worry her too much. She obviously felt so much better she could eat all the cat food and go through the whole rubbish bin - all over the kitchen floor. Wonderful to wake up to!!! It seems to have been a one-off. Hopefully her stomach will start to settle if we can finish the ABs today. The smaller pups have started lapping. Amazing thing is that the tiny boy is the only one to get the hang of it first go, like he already knew how. He's small on body but big on brains. :D Mum is starting to get sick of sitting around feeding pups too - and wanting more time outside. I keep telling her to just wait until she can't walk away - when they all swarm after her!

Dogs Shot By Police In Kenwick, One Dead
Alyosha replied to White Shepherd mom's topic in In The News
Nice to think these two aggressive crossbreds have been bred together. -
As soon as I get them started on a little extra in the next fews days I will. Thanks Aziah. Mum will see vet tomorrow, hopefully we can stop the ABs.... If only I could massage away the last of the lump!! Nearly there, it's a stubborn thing!
-
I know the feeling Jetpoint!! If I'm not cleaning up after them I'm sitting watching them! Hope your runny poos get better. Mine have been a little whiffy too with mum on ABs. Am trying to get as much probiotic into her as I can to keep a lid on it. Great to hear yours are getting up on those little legs! I love the wobbly attempts!!
-
I'm finding the same thing SBT - only that I'm cleaning up so much puppy poo thtt I don't want to bite my nails... It's nice to have them growing for a change!! Ours were two weeks old yesterday. Here's the whole gang. So many little monsters!!!
-
No but I don't think any of those other breeds have suffered cross and backyard breeding in recent times to the extend that the SBT has. So maybe breeders and fanciers get a little defensive in wanting to maintain distance from those activities? I know SBT breeders that use the term Staffy.

Awwww!! She's GORGEOUS!! Like Krisilin, I loved one as a kid - my grandparents Peke Sam. I never see enough of them about although am determined to own one - one day!! Thanks so much for sharing!

Vomit Inducing Drug For The House
Alyosha replied to jacqui835's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Old fashioned soap flakes, or normal salt in water. Very salty water. Make sure after they vomit they have access to lots of fresh water as they'll be a little dehydrated. -
Herd immunity is an unproven idea. Much reduction in disease over the years can be equally attributed to better care, nutrition and hygiene. Vaccinated dogs can and do still die of Parvo.

Love the borzoi - my girls look like that after a coat drop!
-
 Yay! You've made my night. I now only get a fix of the gorgeous Grey pups, but the super sweet Cavs as well!! Thanks for pics guys. :D And the video too Rebanne - fantastic!! Oh, and edit to add - for more baby 'Zoi pics, head into the Sighthound thread. ;)

When Did That Happen - Facebook On Dol Profile Pages
Alyosha replied to SwaY's topic in General Dog Discussion
But public internet is just that. What we write here can be read by anyone - outside of the off topic section - and dog profiles on here are public. So what's the difference? -
Police don't need a warrant to search someone. They need "reasonable suspicion" or "reasonable belief" depending on what power is being utilised. A positive indication from a dog gives that reasonable suspicion, or even belief in certain circumstances. Dogs (and handlers) should not be punished for indications that provide no positive find. A person may recently used, they may have been sitting in a car where drugs have been smoked or handled. They may have borrowed a jumper from someone who has handled drugs. They can also have drugs hidden internally where a normal police search cannot locate them (and yes, this is a VERY common scenario). Why train dogs and handlers to do a job and then punish them for factors outside of their control? Can any of us tell a dog what it does and does not smell?? And the comment about placing officers on probation for too many negative searches?? This is on a par with punishing highway patrol officers for not giving out enough tickets! This sort of practice has been known to increase corruption and misuse of power, as individuals try to protect themselves and their jobs. An increase in negative searches should be a positive indicator - does that mean there are less drugs being carried around?? And the response from the Greens has still not made any mention of the proactive importance of these dogs being out and about. edit - bad spelling day!

Ahem. Rebanne? I keep coming in here looking for photos!! :D

Oh zzz What a long and difficult night you've had. Fingers crossed your girls and remaining bubs all do well. Hope you get some rest.
-
Seems early doesn't it SBT. And we've gone from one extreme to another milk-wise. From no milk a week ago to mild mastitis now. Sigh. Poor girl is not feeling happy at all. Hopefully the ABs will kick in quickly. How'd you go zzz top??
