  1. I am at Russell Island and get to Capalaba every week or two...I didn't know they existed. I have just emailed them to ask if they supply (or can get) turkey mince. I see they do have chicken mince but the local butcher here does make me up mince from chicken frames which are ok for Penny as she doesn't have much in the way of teeth and is allergic to any red meat. Turkey mince is a bit better though as it has less fat. Thanks for your question Jacquilee81...at least we can all make use of it!
  2. 'Mornin' Jed, are you feeling a tad better this morning? Lovely here at the moment, warm and the sun is sparkley on the trees and water (and on the windows...eeeeek, they need cleaning!) Hi Waiting-Room-Waiting-People...coffee smells good as usual
  3. I was stopped at an intersection last week and a woman was traveling from my left, with her right indicator on, intending to turn into the street I was in, She was talking on her mobile and had a SWF standing on her lap and leaning out the window. Idiot!
  4. And it's more expensive than my vet was Yep Sandra777, just found that out eeeeeek x 2 Hi ♥JJ, I had my new 7 y/o female Westie desexed at Koala Park Vets at Victoria Point, it cost me $199.50 so I was pretty happy with that. They price by dog size.
  5. Thanks MrsD, I will look into that...goes off to Google Dogs Queensland
  6. Thanks for that...the next Moreton Bay microchipping day is in October so I will have to pencil this into my busy social calendar. I also phoned the Brisbane Council and they have microchipping days at their pound on Wednesdays (by appointment!) They charge $62.50 eeeeek, Our vet only charges $45....I am a bit of a tight ar*e though
  7. Hi DOLers, apart from vets, is there any person/society/group that does cheaper microchipping? I know that in Gympie the RSPCA and local vets and Council run a $25 (or thereabouts) microchipping day every 6 months or so, it is usually held in conjunction with a pet show along with pet food/suppliers sponsors. Does anyone know if the same sort of service is held near Brisbane?
  8. Hahahaha...I saw that as well Mother Moocher, I thought 'those hands could do with a good gob of aloe vera and scarless healer cream' (medical staff may not approve tho' ) Good morning Jed, pop into the waiting room and help scoff that pile of toast and these.....
  9. Good to hear from you Jed. We all know the sorrow of losing one of our mates, but to lose so many is just too much. Be sure that our thoughts are with you Jed and perhaps help to mend that big hole in your heart that their passing has left. Hugs to you.
  10. Good to hear you are feeling a little better Jed... Westie-kisses from the little guys. Penny and Mac's last Person, Moira, was one of the humans waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for your heart dogs Jed, they were comforted and shown all of the fun stuff that dogs do there. They are doin' ok now. Hope your hands heal quickly. The coffee and hot buttery rolls are pretty good in the waiting room this morning...yum yum pigs bum
  11. Deals Direct have some advertised $19.95 and $29.95...may be worth a look, If you type in united1 in the Product search it takes you to the correct page. Warm Doggies
  12. I agree Shaar, I saw that photo of her and thought awwwwwww. I thought she was a little cutie!
  13. Thanks Goldchow for the good news update. It gladdens my heart that Jed is getting better (small puppy steps...that's the way to go). Hi Waiting-Roomies, still busy scoffing that mud cake and strawberries? Oh! are they chokkie-dipped? great, I'll just grab a few and a cuppa coffee while I wait a bit. (Smells kinda nice here...coffee, cake, dog )
  14. beautiful Hahaha...that's really great I ♥ Bindi~Boo, I like it! I also like that crab, it looks happy.
  15. Good morning Jed, and good morning waiting room dogs and people. Just popped in with a container of tank water for the hairy-4-legged guys and to a tin of ground coffee and filters to top-up the reserves for the coffee machine, also a box of Dilmah Earl Gray leaf tea....you guys on the night shift sure swill the stuff! Those croissants sure smell good (swipes one)...who brung them? Hope you are feeling a little better today Jed.
  16. 'Mornin' Jed (waves through the window) and Hello to the day-crew...it's ok, I know you guys can't speak with your mouths full of Persephone's pancakes...I thought I saw maple syrup on the floor?..but no, my mistake, it appears to have been wiped up with The-Amazing-New-On-The-Market-Wipes (as seen on TV) 'Newfie Tongues'..especially for big jobs! (the amazing Chi Tongues are needed for smaller jobslike jam drops) Candle lit
  17. Mornin' Jed, you may be able to smell the big big plate of toast that everyone is pigging-out on, I see that someone has let those Border Collie pups into the waiting room again Bonduca, they are doing goo goo eyes at the toast eaters, we are wise to their trickery though (quietly slips them some chicken wings from the always-filled eskie under the table). Bright and sunny here this morning, cold wind though. Warming candle lit.
  18. Hi Indigirl, I didn't know either so had a look on-line and found the answer here---->http://quilting.about.com/od/stepbystepquilting/ss/fat_quarters.htm Now I am an authority on fat quarters (it sounds like an area in France...sort-of a place for fat artists to hang out in )
  19. Woops! how dumb am I!!!!! .....one of the fat quarters I ordered on-line came yesterday and I thought it would get to SBT303 late so I sent it express post. I must keep telling myself that the 7 in... 7/7/10 means July, not June. Thanks Snowysal for your polite way of telling me (quote Since we have a whole nother MONTH) O well, I can now do some more with applique.
  20. Hey! this happy little sweetie really cracked me up...must be the tongue! she really lived to a ripe old age, RIP little one http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/06...?section=justin
  21. Thanks for the update Toohey, it's good to hear that Jed is improving. Jed...cry as much as you like, we are all with you (just check out the crowd of us that are in the waiting room), which reminds me...you may be interested to know a furniture truck delivered several sofas, soft chairs and tables for the food and drinks that magically keep appearing. Still need more room as the dogs and cats are taking over the furniture and us peoples are sitting and lying on the floor, (playing with afore-mentioned dogs and cats) Blue sky here and a cold wind...bit wintery in fact!
  22. sent mine off with the post today, my friend appliqued some Westies and Scotties onto some of the plain material I bought (from the Church Ladies for $2), she is sooooo good at doing stuff like that. (I did the cutting out ) I hope it gets to SBT303's place on time.
  23. Not dogs, but these poor little tackers, how cold and frightened they must have been.... (check the two photos) http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/06/03/2916716.htm
  24. Hi Showdog,...yep, I was thinking that very thing myself! (after reading the shampoo bottle that said Stripping Shampoo!) Penny and Mac (being 10 and 12) don't take kindly to being stripped (tried it a couple of times and they cry), one needs to start stripping as a pup for it to be successful I reckon. Never mind, I'll bath them today and maybe they won't be too soft (I hope)
