  1. just making sure everyone knows what day it is, you thought that my writing Friday instead of Thursday was a mistake but it was really a test!
  2. A friend sent me this picture... thought I'd put it up for a Thursday afternoon smile Oh No, Not the Bath! edited as I didn't know what day it is!
  3. Thanks for that Ellz, I had asked our local hairdresser (yes, I know...should have asked the grooming people!) as I had called them combs when I asked her about the clippers not working very well, she said they were called blades (even tho' I DID say that they were plastic and were easy to change) My Whal is just a economy model ($61 Ebay), so I will just use the combs for the cutting length, clipping the little fellas is really to neaten them up from the 'scruffy' to the 'ok-that'll-do,-you-look-much-better-now. The woman I bought Daisy-the-Westie from used a 3f & 5f and her back was really nice (Daisy's back I mean ) Thank you for clearing up the combs/blades query My Wahl clippers have the 30-50-10 stamped on the blade
  4. HA! Mother Moocher....wouldn't ya like to know! (me too! )
  5. I have Whal clippers and it was suggested I use blade sizes 5f and 3f to clip the Westies. The Whal blades I have are No 3 (10mm), No 2, & No 1, as well as unknown brand blades..9 mm, ,7 mm 6 mm,3 mm What does the 'f' mean and are the numbers just the sizes (ie mm) I was told, but I had better ask someone to jog my memory.. is this what is called a blade?----> ..........................................................
  6. Hello Jed, lovely sunny morning this morning aye?. (had to put that bit of Aussie in ) How are your burns and graft-sites healing? give us an update on your health sometime. The Westies say Hoots mon to you.
  7. I know the feeling Westielover, I went to the Brisbane Westie Walkers a while back, there were over 30 Westies all gathered in a grassy area in the park and this guy who was riding his bike stopped and asked "how come they look all the same"
  8. Bloody good label Dogbesotted, kinda choked me up it did.
  9. Hahahaha...I love that owls feet Greytmate edited 'cos I can't spel!
  10. That square is really beautiful Anna....mine were just little appliqué Westies and some Westie print material and even then my friend Lynn did the appliqué work...I just bought the material and found the Westie patterns :p I am really a gardener (so when Jed gets back to her home maybe I can send her some be-happy-flowering-plants) Your embroidery is great!
  11. And you can flash your ring Bl**dy will too! I will flash it and the jools in it will blind everyones eyes
  12. Hey Jed, hope you are feeling a bit better especially since those few awful miserable days have passed and the sun is out, it's pretty warm here as long as we are out of the way of that sneaky cold breeze. Took the little guys to the off-leash park for so they could pee and sniff. Mac rolled in greeny-coloured poop , so he had a rinse under the tap and then a few! shampoos at home, he is so white and shiny (and soft, bummer!) he gives us all a fright. When you are feeling more betterer you can come over for a cuppa.
  13. 'Mornin' Jed, hope your burns and graft sites aren't too painful this cold and cloudy morning. Pity the Westies are desexed hummmmm.....ChiChi x Westie BIG SELLERS I have heard Chiwee pups anyone?

  15. http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/06/26/2937984.htm The explosives detection dog killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan this month, has been honoured at a memorial service in South Australia. Herbie and Sappers Darren Smith and Jacob Moerland were killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan last Monday. Hundreds of dogs and their owners gathered at the war dog shrine on the banks of the River Murray in Goolwa to remember Herbie, who died along with his handler and Sapper Jacob Moerland. Barry Willoughby from the Army Museum says the bond between handler and a dog in war is quiet unique. "They live together day and night, they work together very hard, long hours, they feed together, eat together, and so it's really your best friend," he said. "The shrine was built a few years ago to pay tribute to all service dogs." Herbie is the fifth dog to die in Afghanistan since the war began. 16. Hahaha, they are buggers of things aren't they!...it looks as if the garden has been hit by aerial bombing by very small B52's overnight. Good morning Jed, good to hear about your shoes ...if you are interested..Russell Island does houses that are reasonable rent.
  17. I like bandiccots, bandicoots are my friends (and yes I know they carry ticks) but they are such funny fussy little blokes and visit the garden each night. There is so many blocks being cleared here they have to find their tucker somewhere and it appears to be under our garden mulch. Good morning to you Jed, hope your pain is easier today.
  18. Hey Jed, and Hey Sitting-Room-People-and-Dogs, thought you guys would like a lunch-time snack so bought in a big dish of macaroni cheese, paper plates and a heap of those irritating plastic forks...(you get a metal fork Jed..not so bendy) make sure those Rotties, Wippets and Cavvies don't get any, fartin' things.
  19. Saw the clip on the news.....that is one happy dog ;)
  20. Ha, Magnus, you were such a dag. I laughed at the stuff he got up to in your tribute to him Jed. Now I can't find my hanky...it's around here somewhere....stop looking...found it, Penny was lying on it, must be the dog hair that is making me sniffly.
  21. Hi Anne, I can't help much with your question BUT I have included a link to some interesting info on diet/epilepsy http://dogtorj.tripod.com/index.html if you scroll down there is more info on this link http://dogtorj.tripod.com/id21.html perhaps it may be of help.
  22. Hi Jed, just popping into the sitting room with a few of bottles of Cab Sav (on special $3.99!) and a heap of glasses for everyone, it'd be good if someone can clear a path to the table, there appears to be a heap of Cavies, GSD's,Whippets and Rotties all just lying around fartin'....who has been feeding them cheese? Enjoy the red Jed.
  23. 'Mornin' Jed, it's best you are out of the hospital enviroment, much better for you health and wellbeing in the long run. I have been thinking of a way I can say how sorry I am that your heart has a big hole that used to be filled with Meg, Magnus, Paris and the puppies...can't think of any words that don't sound trite. So...... Hugs to you Jed.
