  1. If you can let me know what type of charger/Adaptor? (DC, AC, input/output) Ker I will check here as we have HEAPS of them. We seem to collect them for a just-in-case-we-need-them-day.
  2. Penny, Mac and Daisy have those sheepskin pillowcases (picked up for $2 each at garage sales!) that go on their beds at night. In the morning I hang them (the sheepskins, not the dogs ) over the back landing rail to air out in the sun....well two maggies wait for me and as soon as the sheepskins are out they land on them and spend the morning picking out the wool. The cases look like badly shorn sheep now! at least the maggie-bubs will be cosy.
  3. So sorry Steve, for poor little Vader, you, and the new owner. It is heartbreaking that awful sad stuff has to happen.
  4. Ok, do the minor cutting on the pressure suit Jed, you are detrmined to aren't you! You will also get into trouble with the pressure-suit Nazis...they will know it was you who did the cutting A tip to remember...don't run with those scissors Hope you are feeling ok this morning (perhaps just cut a little hole in the elbow-part eh)
  5. This is pretty minor compared with what some of your dogs are achieving but it is about my 7y/o Westie, Daisy, that I bought in March from a breeder. Daisy didn't know how to 'sit', wasn't house trained, had no manners and fought for her food...well this morning she passed her Beginners Evaluation... Heel on Lead 18 out of 20 (I walk too fast for her ) Recall 10 out of 10, Sit/stay 1 min 15 out of 15, Down/stay 15 out of 15 and Sit for examination 10 out of 10 ....so she got 68 points out of 70. I am so proud of her as she tries so hard to make us happy. That's it really...just thought I'd post this to brag a bit
  6. Good Morning to you Jed, a bit cold here this morning but bright and sunny. Dog obedience this morning, Mac (10) is good at the drop and stay, he just lies there dreamin', Daisy (7) just tries her best and has come a long way in the 4-5 months I've had her when she wasn't even house trained and didn't know what 'sit' was....See you can teach old dogs new tricks! ) Penny (12) just watches and comments every now and then Hope you continue to feel better each day...isn't that new skin pink!
  7. O you poor thing Jed, your poor house. Maybe those shrubs along the veranda-part have recovered and have put out some new buds, sometimes it is just little things that give one hope. Can you get around much Jed?, can you visit folks and do stuff?....Westie Walkers is on this afternoon...3.15 at Newstead Park, meet at the entrance to park corner Newstead Avenue and Newstead Terrace, if you are in a wheelchair and get tired we can hitch up 30+ Westies to it, should be a good day. Westie wannabees are welcome
  8. Hi Dollygirl, I bought some of this brand of shampoo from Jillian Brinsley at Canine Equipment at Carindale in Brisbane, I had contacted Petcetera with some questions and freight costs at the end of May and I am still waiting for their answer. Jillian just charged for the post not for packing. I had contacted Jillian at the same time and had an answer pretty quickly, she is extra helpful with advice. I seem to remember that she may have been a smidgen dearer for the Lazerlite but her service and help were excellent so she may be able to suggest the colour you will be needing. This is the email she sent.. Thanks for your email. I have both shampoos in stock in 1L size.($18.50) One of the best detangler sprays (that i have found) is by Coat Handler (comes in 300ml size$19.75.) Not sure on cost of postage, but the shampoos are quite heavy, so at a rough guess is might be between $10 and $15. regards Jillian. Canine Equipment. She goes to Durack most weekends to sell I think. This is her contact info.... 34 Willard Street, Carina, 4152 (near Carindale Shopping Centre). Phone is 3395 3808. Hope this helps.
  9. Well you had better just do that Golden Rules, don't forget, this is just not good enough! (I'm so good at sending that I got my months muddled and sent mine express post in June ...must've had a senior moment or perhaps it's old-timers disease) I can't wait until we see pictures of it completed...what a task for SBT123!, top marks for your hard work!
  10. Yes, that is VERY good news. Hope she recovers quickly and is soon back to her old-self
  11. O poop, there isn't a dancing day on Monday You can see Westies on just about any weekend at Durack when a champ show is on . Thanks MrsD, are Scottish Terriers on at the same day as Westies at Durack? and where would I find a Durack schedule, wouldn't mind seeing the Kelpies though, I used to breed them many years ago when we had the farm near Miva :D The kelpies are on Friday the 6th at the Ekka ;) . Durack shows are just one day, they have a half a dozen or more rings running all at once. They are on most weekends but not all, I just checked the June Dogworld & there is a show on Sunday the 1st August & one on Sunday the 15th August if that's any help. Maybe the 15th...can't go on the 1st...it's the Brisbane Westie Walkers walk in Newstead Park...can't miss that! ;)

  15. I saw the Russell Island Church Ladies on Saturday and they had some small pieces of remnants, so I forked out my $1.20 , cut them into 6 1/2" squares and posted them today...they are not very exciting but will do around the edges and between those beautiful hand embroidered and appliquéd squares.
  16. You could visit the Southern Bay Islands (Russell, Macleay, Lamb and Karragarra)...if you want to go over in your car there is a regular barge, or if you just leave your car at the ferry carpark you can go on the ferry (dogs need to be muzzled tho') Jan at the Russell Island Motor Inn is happy for you to bring your dog( they are not allowed to sleep on the beds though) She does have good rates if you stay for a few days. There is a lovely beach (Sandy Beach) and BBQ area at the bottom of Russell Island where the dogs can have a paddle, you can walk right around the bottom at low tide, there is a channel and then Stradbroke Island, so it is pretty. http://www.russellisland.com.au/images/russellislandmap.jpg here are some pictures http://www.russellisland.com.au/photoalbum.htm The Islands are really beautiful

  18. An update on that poor donkey...ABC News http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/07/23/2961829.htm Parasailing donkey unhurt after ordeal Updated 40 minutes ago Beachgoers got a shock when they saw a donkey soaring in blue skies over balmy beaches in Golubitskaya, Russia last week. (AFP/Taman News) Video: Parachuting donkey scares children (ABC News) Related Story: Parachuting donkey terrifies children The Russian donkey who shot to international fame after flying high above the sea in a parasailing stunt has been located and is physically unscathed after her trauma, police say. The donkey ended up in the skies above the Sea of Azov in the south of Russia as a result of an impromptu advertising campaign by several entrepreneurs to attract holidaymakers to their beach, according to police. A veterinarian examined the donkey and found the half-hour flight over heads of beachgoers last week did not inflict any physical damage, said regional spokesman Igor Zhelyabin. "The veterinarian has come to a conclusion that the animal is clinically healthy," he said. The donkey's mental state however remained unclear. Animal rights activists, who condemned the stunt as cruel, have said the animal must have been very distressed by the flight as well as a rough landing on the water. Pictures broadcast on state television showed the donkey taken high into the sky by the stunt, frantically swinging its legs in panic as the speedboat circled around the water. Mr Zhelyabin said a decision on whether to open a criminal animal cruelty case would be made on Friday. The owner of the donkey, who lives in the nearby town of Temryuk, however has told the authorities he does not see anything wrong in forcing his donkey to fly because the beachgoers "were having fun," Mr Zhelyabin said. Dina Goncharova, another local police spokeswoman, said police had confirmed that the donkey was a female. - AFP
