  1. Maybe some of you DOLers may be interested on their newsletter page they say free shipping on selected kennels and it says..... "stocking 10 products for “kennels-free-ship” at the top of the page on the link below http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/search/kenne...3-_-search-_-43
  2. A couple of frozen bananas dipped in melted carob drops for Sally and really rich chocolate cake which is ABSOLUTELY BAD FOR DOGS so then you can eat that all up yourself
  3. Yoo Hoo don't forget us Westies...low shedding
  4. lovely dogs, stupid owner (or is that being a tad harsh?)
  5. We put in a doggie door for Penny and Mac. It took only four or five goes for Pen to work it out (she is 12)..we put little pieces of cheese on one side and when she pushed the door to get through we repeated the same on the other side. Her guts rule her brain so it was soon worked out...all fine and dandy until Mac (who thinks everything is out to get him) decided to follow her while the door was swinging back...you guessed it...it clonked him on the noggin. It was funny/awful at the time as we could see what was going to happen and weren't quick enough to stop it. It took weeks for Mac to push through it and I still have to hold it open sometimes for him to go through. When he wants to go out sometimes he comes to get me. So, if you have two dogs DON'T teach them how to use the doggie-door at the same time! BAD MOVE!
  6. Yep, Westies inhale their bones, the little buggers. I can't give mine chicken necks...they sort-of slurp them up without chewing, choke, then vomit it all up again, I had to grab it before it was re-eaten!!!! Try chicken wings with the fat cut off, they at least have to chew them and if they get stuck (so far they haven't stuck) it it'll be fairly easy to get out of their mouths as they have some length to them. Chicken wings are the BEST...they love them! Why not come over to the 'Westies' thread Wings and post some photos of your little bloke. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...&hl=westies
  7. I had tried chicken mince from Lenards when I needed chicken for my old dog Harry, He wouldn't eat it and when I gave it a sniff it stunk of bleach, I mean it was really gross! I have been buying turkey mince (human consumption) from Woollies, it comes pre-packed in purple/mauve trays and you can often pick it up for around $4 for a 500g tray. It is Ingham brand. Sometimes they have wings as well which is a feast for little dogs (watch the dogs tho' as they tend to eat them a bit fast) I think turkey mince has less fat than chicken though.
  8. A friend sent me this so I thought you may get a laugh...a really useful dog!
  9. Hi Steve, I have emailed you asking if you can send two books
  10. Some pictures of my little mate Harry-The-Dirty-Dog, he was dumped at a dam near Blackwater and was thought to be around a year old then. I had him for 12 years, I did miss his footsteps when he went.
  11. You are correct Sammy_ballerina and Persephone, I thought it was my computer screen (it is pretty crook!) that made him appear a different colour, but looking at the piccie again he is QUITE different, though dog is still pretty good looking (pretty tough looking as well!). The picture of him was the 9th photo in the link I posted about Cesar's Daddy so I presumed he was Daddy, sorry.
  12. and if you didn't know that Daddy was a softie you would be pretty worried with this photo! http://www.ryanmcdaniel.me/page19/files/pi...ucybigdaddy.jpg
  13. There are some pretty good photos here... http://images.google.com.au/images?client=...ved=0CCIQsAQwBQ
  14. Dog rescued 2km out to sea http://www.cairns.com.au/article/2010/02/1...local-news.html
  15. Sandgrubber, you may find this interesting http://gabbylewis.vox.com/library/posts/tags/charity/ it includes this paragraph... 'BAWA have received 75,000 rabies vaccines donated by the Australian Government at a cost of about $1.80 each which they are using to protect Ubud’s dogs and monkeys'. There is a paragraph as well about Bali rabies in the following link http://www.vetsbeyondborders.org/
  16. A disease spread by dog bites has killed 25 people in Bali, prompting calls for a mass animal vaccination. http://www.abc.net.au/news/video/2010/02/16/2821120.htm
  17. That is good news that her ear infection has cleared up. I didn't have any drops left when Penny developed one of her recurring ear infections and was unable to get to the vet quickly, a friend gave me a tube of Kenacomb ointment and I put a little smear on the inside if her ear (not into the canal itself, only on the inside of the sticky-up-part of her ear) and it cleared it up in no-time. It hasn't recurred so far and that was 7 weeks ago. It also helped when she developed a small hot-spot near her bum. Hopefully my using the Kenacomb was not harmful to her, but at least it fixed the problem. Maybe some of the other posters may know of any side affects in using this product. Also check that you don't have ANY Wandering Jew at you place, dogs love to lie on it as it is cool...here is a link with pictures that may help identify it http://www.nqccs.com.au/library/weeds/wandering_jew.pdf
  18. With every papered (more expensive DD's come with a copy of the Financial Review newspaper) green and pink agility dog you receive a number plate surround...... ................................. Be careful when you breed the pink and green pseudodoodleoodles the litter will be brown...not a good shade for future-sales
  19. This herb helped Penny, she was prone to kidney stones, no problems since I have been giving her 3 leaves in her food, twice per day... http://www.herbs2000.com/herbs/herbs_pellitory_wall.htm you can get the seeds from http://www.herbsarespecial.com.au/contact_us.html or google for other seed suppliers who may have some in stock. Hope this helps. :D
  20. I'll thank you not to suggest my future imported husband has a nasty disease or rabies, perhaps you would know how long customs would impound future husbands?
  21. Brooke...be careful in what you are buying from your Cameroon Priest, I have heard he is selling an insect eating pseudo-doodle/oodles rather than the pedigree variety...the one that may arrive on your mother's doorstep (after you paid via Western Onion) COULD like this.... not much good as a protector of the family unless there is an attack by a flock of stick-insects
  22. No Jed, of course ALL of them aren't my husbands!, either one of these two COULD be tho'. I met them on their way back from Obedience Training, they were preparing them for Mothers' Day.They said were ropeable that they had bought their doggies as doodle/oodles designer mutts from Deshonko and Shonkypaws. They bought the leads on ebay, they are the Nigerian-Retractable-Leads
  23. Hi, browsing the Trading post and saw this...not much use to me as I am in Qld, but maybe some of the stuff would interest Melbourne-people...I hope it is OK to post the link.... http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Pets-Horses/...ue&AdOnTop=

  25. Do you think this one may be a bit over the top protection-wise for mothers day?
