  1. THANK YOU! Gee it has been annoying me! I'll just put it down to Harvey being vertically challenged.
  2. This has been bothering me for a while. Are Lamb necks able to be fully consumed? Harvey gets them a couple of time a week and spends HOURS having a good chew. I never leave bones lying around and always throw them out. But are they the type of bone that a dog (keeping in mind harvey is small) can eat completely? I always supervise when he has bones as he is known to gag but i have to spend HOURS watching him - by that stage the lamb neck has shrunk but is not completely gone. someone please let me know cause its been bugging me for ages now Thanks Kate
  3. Was it Eagle Pack you were thinking of KitKat? With the chicken Wings/necks just supervise Mr B at first to see how he goes. Just me being paranoid me is all . Also some brisket bones would be good for him to have a chew on.
  4. I groom my boy often - a brush every day and a GOOD brush at least every second day (takes about 15 mins with the way he looks at the moment ), also give him sardins, tuna, mackeral (he loves it) usually in oil or in springwater. Yeah, not sure about the eggs but he gets one every now and again I also dont bath him often at all.. actually cant remember the last time he was bathed
  5. Thanks for the responses.. this time i added in Zucchini and some Bok Choy (both new for harvey) as well as pumpkin, celery and carrot - seems to be going down a treat although anything with chicken goes down a treat with him .. the mush looks alot 'greener' than usual but am assuming thats not a bad thing? Plus even better - the bok choy was cheap as chips!!
  6. yes, plants and i just dont work. With the zucchini do you peel it before you pulp it or just dice it up and put it through the blender witht he skin on.. Are there pips in zucchini's (clearly i dont really eat it that much) if so, are they ok for dogs??
  7. funny you should mention parsley.. i recently bought some to start adding to his feeds, then it died, so i bought some more... i looked at it this morning, and, well, it aint looking too good i don't know what i am doing wrong with it, but it just goes all limp and keels over and dies within days of being in my care  So why do people give their dogs the vege/fruit that they do? Or is it a case of, if they eat then thats ok? Or do you think, i'll give him some pumpkin because pumpkin is good for this or that? And beans for this etc etc?
  8. Oh, he is a big fan of pumpkin... I haven't tried snow peas, so may get some of these. Thanks!
  9. Hi I'am due to make up some Harvey food this afternoon, and was wondering what vegies/fruit your dog/s like the most. Or which ones do you use and why? Basically i am wanting to vary his vege content a wee bit more, for the last few batches i have been adding a different vege or fruit, but am kinda stumped on what to add this time? There is usually 3-4 types of veg in his mix mainly some orange ones, a couple of greens and a fruit of some sort.. coconut being his favourite still and he is really enjoying the spinache lately (i assume he is cause it is all gone in seconds)
  10. I would say Tin food is crap for any dog IMO full of rubbish. BARF/Raw is the way to go! Depending on how much you make depends on how long it lasts. Here is a link to show what some of us feed our dogs... BARF
  11. He'll eat them... So..any pics of your boy??
  12. Ohhh I LOVE Petwise.. Just got their newsletter the other day love it (gee i am soo sad LOl). Have no points as I haven't been out there, so may make a trip out that way. Was just thinking, the place i was talking about does stock PETZ stuff.. so are they the same people who supply eagle pack? if So he may order it in.. i really want to try it now LOL.. So what varieties do they have.. i like to steer clear of beef mainly wheat etc etc... anything like that? ETA:- Thanks Melt. ETA again.. sorry sister hi-jacking your thread ha ha ha! He's a solution to your problem.. just let Buckly live at MY House so TACO wont steal his food.. harvey is too much of a skirt to steal from others.
  13. Little pet supply Place at The Gap (am assumuning sister?) anyway thats the place i was talking about Scruffy's. The also have Bonnie and other ones too. (cat and dog stuff) Just called them, they don't stock it but next time i go in will ask the owner re Eagle pack. Shop assistant suggested to try the produce stores, so perhaps brookfield has it? I really want to give it a go with Harvey, he only has a little kibble - is pretty much all RAW food, but I always like to keep some handy for when i forget to defrost .. like this morning so he had yoghurt and supercoat sensitive (chicken and rice) instead...he does fine on this one haven't had any probs but am hearing good things re eagle pack.
  14. Where you got your food from last night stocks royal canine and EUK and advance. Have no idea about Eagle pack.. anyone know where you can get in Brisbane.... perhaps i will ask him to order it in...?
  15. I would also try feeding him away from TACO. I have noticed when i have been there that even though Taco may not want to eat he hovers around the bowl just so Buckly doesn't get any.. perhaps that has something to do with his weight. Plus the fact that all the seem to o is play, and play and play.. he would burn alot of energy, perhaps giving him the odd lamb off cut or brisket bone would help.. and Taco doesn't like them either so he wont steal them off Buckly (MY other dog LOL)
  16. ALOVEEN.. I love this stuff with the leave in condtioner too. Smells lovely.
  17. Just be careful of the apple seeds, they are toxic to dogs.
  18. Harvey has one for winter. He rarely wears it but did over the long weekend for easter as we were in Geln Innes and it was about 5 degrees at night and he had to sleep outside, he's not use to the cold plus he was stripped a little while back. I think it cost me about $30 from the produce, it has a little hood, rather cute, he also has a polo shirt which he never wears
  19. Lamb necks - it is the only type of bone that Harvey will not let the cat steal off him LOL! He does also get other bones, shanks, off cuts etc (when the cat is shut insided) and greenies now and then too.
  20. My thoughts are with you. RIP Little Blocker.
  21. HI! I have a mini food processor that cost about $20.00 from target or somewhere... it works a treat, but i do only have the one small dog and it is a wee bit time consuming as it is small. But i have lately been using the blender, its a sunbeam (i think) and does the vege mix really and in less time.. cost about $100 - $160 from memory has an ice crushing function which is handy for the vege sometimes.
  22. Sorry to hear about Molly, Jacqui. My thoughts are with you, enjoy every moment with your girl.
  23. And Mine ! LOL! She absolutely swears by it, raw meat and vege plus bones of course :D I remember saying to her when i first got harvey that it all looks so complicated, she explained that it doesn't have to be just add an egg every now and then, some fish here and there , its cheaper to feed, better for them, - i mean the list could go on and on.
