I had little two kegs on legs stay with me awhile back. They were a good couple of kilos overweight. I fed them lean roo meat and mashed pumpkin at the ratio of 2% of their ideal body weight. Their ideal weight was around 7kgs, so they got approx 100-120g of roo/pumpkin and a chicken neck a day. Within three weeks, without too much exercise as I was sick and couldn't walk 4 dogs, they'd lost probably 2kgs each.

Bwhahahah! I have the same problem, although I've trained my dogs to stay out of the kitchen. They like to lie in door ways and stand up when I step over them, so now I just give them the command 'move' and nudge them gently in the ribs to get them out my way.

OMG my sides hurt from laughing. We have a ninja dog too. He creeps up behind you just as you are about to step backwards...KERSPLAT! *big slobbery kisses* ARGH!! GITITOFFME! *very pleased looking dog* DA-we also have an omnipresent dog, does the same thing, disappears in one direction only to come up behind you.

Poll- How Many Dogs And If You Work Full Time
Ravyk replied to jazawayaya's topic in General Dog Discussion
My partner works fulltime, with 3 hours driving there and back a day. I work part time 25+ hours a week over 4-5 days. We have 2 dogs, plus a multitude of other pets. -
We have a dog door and it never really occurred to me someone could/would break into the house by going through it...until the day we locked the house and car keys inside and I had to squeeze through the dog door to retrieve the keys

Practicing with my macro...Baby Fish. The fish was about 8mm long.

Enjoy!! [you may want to turn the sound down, as the music is very loud]

When I can be bothered I chuck dog poo in my compost pile. Worms LOVE it! But generally I let it decompose in the gardens [we have a very large backyard]

From my OH: For a .com.au website you need to have ABN but not for .com. Pricewise, .com site are cheaper that .com.au. [.com is approx $16/year sold on a yearly basis compared to .com.au which is approx $45 for two years] Best place to get the domain is http://www.netregistry.com.au/index.php and go for a business hosting package, which includes the domain and the hosting. The business hosting package, should include a mysql database and php which will allow you to have galleries and the like on the website.

Here's a few droplet shots taken with the 60mm. No where near as good as iltby's as I am still learning to use the lens and the lighting was shoddy. I ducked out and took a few while the sun was out and it wasn't raining [all of about 5 minutes!]. These two I Photoshopped quite a bit, playing with the colours, selective brightness and selective saturation

I'll ask OH when he gets home, he should be able to give you an answer. He knows quite a bit about domains and hosting, etc
-
I love my 60mm, but couldn't tell you the quality difference or variations between the 60mm and the 100mm as I am still only learning to use my macro and never used the 100mm. Might take some shots with it today of similar subjects to iltby, and post them up.

I think going without a photo on a photography business card is a good idea. You can always put a web address to a gallery of example images on it. I think a FB page might be suitable for short term use. I have a FB page for my photography, and a website in construction. It's not very expensive to register a domain, and if I can convince OH, you might be able to host it on our server. :D

do you really think i'd be able to resist showing off the beautiful dogs of the SA police force [which one day I hope to be a handler of one] to a bunch of crazy dog people?

I have a friend who is good friends with some of the dog squad members. Not sure what I'm doing yet exactly, probably a bit of both close up and action shots. Will do!

I have an opportunity to photograph the SA Police Dog Squad soon, and would like some advice on what lenses to use. I currently have a 550D with the following lenses: Canon 50mm 1.4 Canon 60mm macro Tamron 18-250mm Which would be the best to use? What other one's do people recommend? I have a little cash still to splash on another lens if need be.

Amazing!! I especially love the 3rd, 4th and 5th ones.

thanks wazzat, I hope there will be more.

Well I assume it was because shortly after the photo was taken my OH devoured it like a starved animal.

I generally wash mine in the bath with a shower attachment. I know a friend with GSDs washes hers in the shower! I did use the local DIY hydro bath the other night because Peggie was smelling horrible and I discovered a few gag worthy dags.
