  1. although i dont use a create, ive heard they will only go to the toilet in their create if it's big enoguh. mabey make it smaller? dosent really matter what time you feed, well not with my dog anyway, but usally a run around the yard or some exersise will make them want to go to the toilet, so mabey try that aswell. i feed raw in the morning aswell and have no problems,
  2. breeders usally start the daily tablets at about 3 weeks i think, you cant start them after 6 months with out a blodtest either, not sure about the monthly and yearly,
  3. feed them bones. your dog will love you for it
  4. thanks, il get my hands on some brisket bones then
  5. yes and yes, tuna has omega 3's so its very good, tuna in springwater is better for them tho 11 weeks old chicken necks are fine, do you really need to crush them up tho? its good for them to learn young how to chew there food like necks and wings ect, so when the get bigger they dont just swallow them for the first week or so i fed the chicken necks with me holding one end and letting her chew the other, then after a week or so she knew what to do, this was at around 10 weeks old
  6. not referring to the age of the dog here, but the age of the bone, il give my girl bones to gnaw on a few times a week, and i throw out the day old bones ect, but the ones she will go and leave in the very back of the yard she will bring out a few weeks later and chew on them. Is it ok for them to chew on these old smelly bones? and also, apart from necks, frames, wings and legs ect whats a big bone that a dog would be able to eat and not just chew on?
  7. it seems you may be giving your dogs to much access to the house, and they do as they please, restrict were they are allowed to go, so its alot harder for them to toilet with out you catching them. also desexing does not fix the problem of peeing everywhere, Also, don't let him Refuse, leave him out till he does what he needs to do, i never create trained my girl, but from when she was a pup i restricted her to only one room, as there were less and less accidents i gave her more access to the house, the main thing is to take them out side every couple hours so there is a routine with there toileting, apart from that i cant give more advice, because what i wrote is exactly what i did and it seemed to work perfectly.
  8. that name sounds really familial on a few American dog sites i go to,
  9. yer i was worried like you when my girl got hers done about 4 weeks ago or so, but she ate the night of the opp as she stayed overnight, then i piked to up in the morning and got her home and tried to keep her still but by day 3 she was running and jumping liek nothing lever happened, i cant even see a scar now.
  10. its called the zoomies, its normal
  11. jsut chek the trading post, has large Creates for $20
  12. ive never had a problem, and either has anyone else i know, so each to there own.
  13. i use 'condition' when talking about helth, eg my dog is in great condition but you may also here people saying there conditiong there dog, thats when they are getting there dog in shape for personal reasons or a sport mabey
  14. the essentials would be collar, $5 or under is all you need for now, it will grow out quick some were to sleep, i was given a kennel, but i dotn use it, gave it back to my mate, a old bean bag for the day and a old sofa coushion for night is pefect, and usally free, get a decent budget dry food, then some raw meat, ie chicken necks and also some sardies and yougourt, thats about it really for the home, for toys just go to vinnes or an op store and get some stuffed toys, i did for around 50c each, weather you spent 50c or $50 on a toy, it will just end up ruined and chewed to death anyway the killer is the dam vet bills, vacs and desexing ect
  15. ive never introduced a diet slow, just change stright away, althought i feed a variety or food ive never had a problem with a quick trasition
  16. Me.. I am just making a transition to Bonnie Working Dog while we wait for the vet's faecal results. I will certainly be watching for any changes in coat etc but I need to stop Koda's tummy problems as a priority. I went back to this as it was one of the breeders choices, I wondering if the Advance was too strong for her. We'll know in a few more days hopefully. the bonnie working dog is good, my pup didnt touch the advance, the evo was good but i heard good thign about bonnie workign dog, shes been on it for a few dasy now and good results so far,
  17. The difference being that the 'monthly' ones release over the whole period of 45 days? Save that the active ingredient in the daily drug is (from what I'm informed) the more 'kinder' drug for the dog. So how do you figure the monthly one is better? This is not actually correct. The monthly tablets do not slow release - the active ingredient only stays around in the body for a couple of days. It's during this time that it kills certain life stages of the heartworm - all prior to the adult stage. Basically speaking, the ivermectin kills heartworm larvae from the age of 0-30days, so on the day you give the monthly chew, any heartworm aquired in the last 30 days (or probably 45-60 days) will be killed. The daily tablet kills the larvae in the final stage before it becomes an adult. That's why it's important to give it every day, as by missing just a couple of days allows the larvae to reach adult hood. It's dangerous to give the daily tablet to a dog that has adult heartworm, because the babies that the adults produce, can react with the drug. The daily tab is also not 100% - we have had dogs test positive to heartworm that have been on the daily tabs. So basically, giving a daily tablet is actually giving more chemicals, as its a regular daily dose, where as the monthly tabs is only around for a couple of days. not saying that your wrong as im still new to all this heart worm, but do you ahve any info to back up what youve sed, or whats makes you think that way?
  18. so what have you chosen? hows the pup

  22. they dont have the daily, thnks tho. the vet shed seems to be quite good.
