  1. if you ever breed then you would understand
  2. Very helpful  Read the desex thing wrong of course. I was thinking why does she need to desex the dog that soon. well the OP asked for the good, the bad, the ugly. This is how I would react so was warning her. Other breeders will react the same way, others again will react differently. Mainly I would be kicking myself for not keeping in better contact with the owner cause surely if the owner and breeder were in reasonable contact then the subject of the dog being pregnant would have already come up. People are saying, rightly, contact the bitches breeder, OP needs to be aware the breeder might not be very happy with them! Doesn't mean they won't help.
  3. As a breeder I would be livid this was allowed to happen. Why did you not contact them as soon as the mating occurred? For the dog I bred sake's I would do everything to help you out but be prepared to cop some wrath first up. I would also be angry with myself for trusting you to not allow this to happen and be wondering where I went wrong.
  4. My dogs wouldn't climb it but it would depend on the breed and how long the dog is in there for. Otherwise it looks great!
  5. Get another trainer. Your pup doesn't need exercising and you can socialize in other ways. Why would anyone suggest doubling up on vaccine's, ridiculous.
  6. That's the one I posted above is it good pirate? Greyhound people I know have raved about it.
  7. Showing is about a lot more than structure though. Why else do people put glitter etc on their dogs for shows ? Dogs can have excellent structure and not be show winners. There ae a number of breeds (mals, bc's, Aussies etc) that have split working and show lines. I didn't actually mention showing at all so why quote me and bring it up?
  8. Good conformation is what makes a good athlete who will stay the distance. And no you should not breed a limited registered dog.
  9. Happy Birthday Tempeh :birthday:
  10. I use this one. I have two different grades of paper, one finer then the other and I don't have an extension.
  11. the people might be ok but some of the dogs? One day he will come upon the wrong dog, one snap can cause a big problem.
  12. sorry you had this happen but it happens a lot, no matter how the pups are conceived.
  13. The saucepan lid is a terrible idea to inflict on other peoples dogs. I would still have your guts for garters if I caught you doing something so cruel to my dogs and I have lived next to an old guy who if my dogs barked once a day would react like they never stopped. Even he was never so cruel.
  14. you would have to ask the breeders how much extra they charge and also what guarantees they offer cause they are really only selling show potential. Pet or show, they all cost the same to raise. Really so called pet quality pups shouldn't be much different to the show potential ones, it is very often only minor things that rule a dog out of the show ring. Possible reasons for being "only" pet quality are mismarks - colour in the wrong spot, incorrect bite, over or under height, slightly turned out foot, too gay a tail etc
  15. Do not do anything to someone elses dogs like bang saucepan lids. Boy woould I go you if you did that to my dogs. A nice note would be appropriate but it is not you job to tortue someone elses dogs.
  16. So your dog can sometimes be crated for up to 17 hours. A prime example illustrating my concerns about them being overused. Yes, that is far too long for a dog to be unable to move around. while I would agree on the surface that is too long, if the correct size crate is used, there is plenty of room for a dog to move around in one.

    Dog Coats

really with a pup that age I would just be putting an old windcheater on her, pulling it together around the waist. If you have very basic sewing skills you can make a coat from polar fleece, it doesn't need hemming. It will cost you a fortune if you buy proper made coats for the next 12 months or so.
  18. I've never used a divided crate for any pup, they all go into the full size crate right from the start and I set the alarm for during the night to get up to them before they get upset.
  19. titles, names and numbers as it is often put in the catalogue as well. There is a separate space for numbers. Titles are part of their name, they are on the official rego certificate. But sometimes it does get squishy. You can usually get more in if you do your entries on the computer and then print them out. Is much neater and easier to read as well (at least it is for me, my handwriting is atrocious) Same as I have added 2 different phone numbers and my email address which I could never do if I hand wrote them :D
  20. I'm at chatswood, nsw. Would have to find out the vets that specialist in Greyhounds nearby me soon I'd just stand my ground and say take them out, you're the client. No way I'd let my dog suffer for over a month when there is an easy fix.
  21. Only mentally crushing effect it has on my boy after sleeping in one ALL night is the fact he wasn't allowed on my bed!
