  1. Have they stated what the hold up is? Cause it does seem to be a long time in getting the papers to you.
  2. You need to contact your states governing dog body and talk to them. No good looking up prefixes online. That is not going to help you. You need to tell them your problem, not just ask if they are current members. I did that when I rang them. Explained the situation and then asked if they were still current and financial. And go the reply of it is a privacy issue. I also emailed the president and received no reply. They won't tell you if they are current but they can and should follow up on the no papers arriving. I would be trying Tas first if you are a member there. But I would also be ringing Vic back and saying the dog is from Vic and you have not yet received papers and you want them to take action. It is not the right climate to have an unpapered bull breed, whatever the state. Have you been able to contact the breeders at all? ps do you have a receipt or similar? Scan that and send it through as well. But give them all the details you have, parents, date of birth etc

  4. so now you are going to ask the neighbours?? Really, just report the dog to the RSPCA and move on. If you are not prepared to report then drop it.
  5. I've never heard of pano in greyhounds but have heard of it in other breeds. Can't think of the name off hand but I would be looking to see Matt at a vet's in Richmond/Vineyard and think about going to see Peter Schofield. Will post the clinics name once I look it up. A greyhound person would be your best bet.
  6. how do you know dog wasn't only just put outside for a toilet run or similar?
  7. Agree, he learnt from before that a growl will stop you.
  8. I'd have scruffed him, told him it was not on and clipped the nails.
  9. Lots of bitches get rough and kill pups. Odds are much higher if young bitch has to have a c-section.
  10. My dogs and cats were only kept away for the first few days then allowed back in the lounge on the couches. Worked for us. And they all tried out the whelping box when first put up
  11. I am not the OP though I would find having opinions am not comfortable with forced down my throat very difficult. Obviouisly you have culled litters and late aborted and you are familiar with it. The OP has not! Nope never aborted a litter at any stage or culled.
  12. Nic.B you have whelped more litters then me! But yes I see your point about the two dogs got together when they shouldn't have. Whatever makes it easiest for everyone which includes the young bitch.
  13. One person suggested culling and another, me, agreed with it. How is that browbeating and hammering? I agree to not abort/desex the bitch now as it is too risky to the bitch but yes I would cull (browbeating and hammering cause I said it again) Why are some so quick to say move the male dog off the premises? I, and others, don't get rid of all other dogs when a bitch whelp's and mine whelps in the loungeroom
  14. excuse me! Errr what? I've been around this forum for awhile now, these types of calls for help always go the same ol' way. The OP is constantly made out to be some crazy dog monster. Sure, some are mad but I'd say 99% are genuine people who aren't in the know-it-all dog scene. and where was the OP made out to be some kind of crazy dog monster? Where was the bullying? Did you report it? Yeah right of course not cause there is nothing to report
  15. You really should get this bitch an xray so you know what you are dealing with. And yes I support culling as well.
  16. if you ever breed then you would understand
  17. Very helpful  Read the desex thing wrong of course. I was thinking why does she need to desex the dog that soon. well the OP asked for the good, the bad, the ugly. This is how I would react so was warning her. Other breeders will react the same way, others again will react differently. Mainly I would be kicking myself for not keeping in better contact with the owner cause surely if the owner and breeder were in reasonable contact then the subject of the dog being pregnant would have already come up. People are saying, rightly, contact the bitches breeder, OP needs to be aware the breeder might not be very happy with them! Doesn't mean they won't help.
  18. As a breeder I would be livid this was allowed to happen. Why did you not contact them as soon as the mating occurred? For the dog I bred sake's I would do everything to help you out but be prepared to cop some wrath first up. I would also be angry with myself for trusting you to not allow this to happen and be wondering where I went wrong.
  19. My dogs wouldn't climb it but it would depend on the breed and how long the dog is in there for. Otherwise it looks great!
  20. Get another trainer. Your pup doesn't need exercising and you can socialize in other ways. Why would anyone suggest doubling up on vaccine's, ridiculous.
  21. That's the one I posted above is it good pirate? Greyhound people I know have raved about it.
  22. Showing is about a lot more than structure though. Why else do people put glitter etc on their dogs for shows ? Dogs can have excellent structure and not be show winners. There ae a number of breeds (mals, bc's, Aussies etc) that have split working and show lines. I didn't actually mention showing at all so why quote me and bring it up?
