  1. So sorry about poor little Hugo. Sending lots of healing vibes and Iggy cuddles.
  2. I have submitted a nomination, and then emailed MDBA to apply for the course. Hope this is the correct procedure? I am looking forward learning a lot to prepare me for plans to foster at some point in the future, hope my poor old brain can cope Thanks to MDBA for this opportunity.
  3. Hi Steve, I will try and knit some basic squares. I have also printed off some posters and category info and will hand them out at my sewing class at the local neighbourhood house on Thursday. You never know, people there are invoved in lots of arts and craft activities and may be interested to help, especially as somehow the conversation invariably turns to "dog talk" and I'm always telling them about the wonderful work MDBA Pacers does.
  4. So pleased Yogi is home and on the mend. Gosh, the photo does look gruesome! Hopefully it will all heal very quickly.
  5. Hi SBT303, I agree, it's a nice idea to put it on the top. I also think either in a corner or in the middle of the top edge. I hope it's all come together well for you, thanks for all your work
  6. As a pet owner, I joined the Companion Dog Club, part of Dogs Victoria. It was $25 for the family and all your dogs, and allows you to use KCC Park. There are also occasional group dog walks at various locations which are fun.
  7. So sorry to hear about Yogi, sending best wishes and Iggy kisses to your beautiful boy for a fast recovery.
  8. Hi Elfin. I'm so sorry to read about Bernard. I hope he makes a full recovery. I can't imagine how distressing it must be for you both. This is a good warning for me. I have two little iggies and we have been to Brighton dog beach several times and had a lovely time, talking to lots of people and their, luckily, friendly dogs. I tend to be very naive about this and think people would be watching and responding if there was any chance of a problem. I also love walking my dogs around our local park and mixing with the dog people who gather there. Thankfully I have never had a problem. I honestly don't know what I would do if something like that happened. I don't want to get overfearful, but it is certainly worth being more aware of what can happen. It's hard to believe that people can be so irresponsible. All the best and hope you have a successful outcome.
  9. More of joy here. Congratulations to everyone involved. Pacers is doing such valuable work and the foster carers are wonderful. It must mean so much at such a stressful and traumatic time in people's lives.
  10. Mine are on the 1st of each month. My vet sends me an email reminder.
  11. Hi SBT303, just back from finally sending off my contribution. Sent it express post, so hope it gets to you early next week. I haven't done anything fancy, hope the nice doggy designs (and pussycat!) will be decorative enough. Thanks for all your work on this
  12. Gardiners Creek Reserve behind Deakin Uni is very popular. You can enter from Stott St, off Elgar Rd.
  13. Hi Indigirl, I love your iggy collars - can you tell me where you got them from in the US? My 2 iggies have had some nice ones from "2Hounds Design" in the US, but the collar and martingale loop are all the same width and I've found the loop part a bit bulky. Your tapered ones look great, and the lining looks so soft. Thanks.
