Don't Blame The Dog - Missed Out :-(((

Does anyone know when the newest episode will be airing? I'm actually at obedience classes when it starts and want to be able to see the full episode... Or have they now finished and I just haven't realised? -
my male cat's name is Salami.

omg. aphelion, your Leonberger boy is divine.

oh dear, my boy has one on the corner of his eyelid. we've been to the vets plenty of times and no one has given us any reason to be concerned, he has had it for roughly a year I'd say. Next time I'm at the vets, I may just ask how much it would be to have it removed... he's a bernese, so anaesthesia is going to be pricey, did you get a rough price on the surgery for your dog cannibalgoldfish?

My lad is very obedient and great with all dogs, so long as the introduction is good. So I am still willing - and hey, if the introduction isn't good, we can always go home so no dramas :)

My entire boy also has no issues with other males from the experiences we have, he is only ever allowed to be off leash with another dog when I know the dog myself. It's all well and good that the owner thinks their dogs amazing and always friendly. We also don't go to dog parks in my town, there is no point. No dogs are ever there, most play sessions are after our obedience training with other dogs who have just finished the class, so most are fairly tired but need to let off a bit of steam and have a sniff. I would never put my own dog in danger.

Also hijacking a smidgen, sorry. My entire male also humps, I feel a lot of it is excitement but also he is confident and assertive. He accepts correction from unwanted dogs and I ALWAYS discourage the behaviour. I find it not only embarrassing but dangerous if he did it to a dog that doesn't just say NO with some teeth showing and growls. I would like to know, if anyone has some tips on discouraging this behaviour and placing his head above other dogs shoulders. He accepts correction well and is only placed with dogs I know will accept it or not go to far in their correction. But I feel as his guardian I need to be doing more and more. Should I remove him from the situation completely or just place him back onto his leash and remove him until he calms down. I use some training with treats at this point to encourage him to watch me and ignore he other dogs.

GAH! Obviously I'm far too eager, lol. Thanks Underfoot... So if anyone would allow me to handle their dog NEXT weekend, that would be awesome :D

Hi there, I know there will be a show held in Wagga Wagga at the Showground this weekend, will anyone from DOL be attending? I would love to do some handling but don't have a dog of my own. I have exhibited a bernese once a few years ago for my then boss who has since moved away. I will be appropriately dressed wearing a suit and can be there at any time on Saturday and Sunday. (I work until 4pm on Friday) This would be an amazing experience for me and I would love to practise for when I get my own show dog. Thank you

I live with my boyfriend and his family which consists of 2 adults, 4 children, myself, 2 dogs and a cat. When I moved in a year ago I began taking control over their beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog and since then Bruno has become my bestfriend, constant affection and love. We do obedience now and just completed a local marathon together. I don't know what I'd do without him anymore. He is the greatest dog I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. So I guess, technically, he's not my dog. (yet!) :)

Hi everyone, I don't know if I missed something, but what's happened to Spottychick and her dalmatians? I loved reading about Tango's progression, does anyone know anything? .. P.S Also loving the new forum layout too! lol

I think you should just let him sleep on the bed. I have heard they're house trainable. :D

I recently took my boy to the snow, first time he's been! (and mine, haha) Do you mind if I post a few photos of his trip? :D
