  1. Here is Lincoln's first effort at Rally, will add the second when the clip is uploaded. Be kind. Today was about me learning how to read rally signs and walk a course, I am not so deluded to think we are less then a year at least off being ready! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzAKwy_JWCU And Lincoln's third run through (I pulled him from the second) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6j2ka0y2L38
  2. My second vid still has 52 mins remaining till its up. Lincoln gets a bit enthusiastic towards the end of that one.
  3. ahh isn't the show ring fro bunny hopping, pulling on the lead, kissing the judges, getting belly rubs and trying to play with the puppy in front??? lol Not once they are in minor apparently.
  4. He was at a Rally Obidience seminar down that way today, his hair is growing back well but he needs a reminder of how to act in a show ring.
  5. yeah i just heard this too isn't the winter festival a big big show?? how will that go under cover?? i just went out and brought an oztrail gazebo for the weekend too rofl Just saw the weather and looks like it will be wet. Might have to re-think this show.
  6. Hmmm that makes me less enthusiastic about showing next weekend if it is under cover.
  7. Home from the rally seminar. Lincoln had moments where he was working well (for a dog who has only been very lightly obidience trained) but found all the birdies around a tad distracting.
  8. Have you been studying hard? I went out to the movies tonight, so no "study" for me. Rally looks like fun, but I am still in the minority that thinks "traditional" obedience is a hoot (edit: when it goes well ) Nope no study. I dropped in at a liquor storeon my way home (I think we can all see where this is going ) and hada relaxing evening in front of the fire. I alsowatched you tube clips of Chessies doing both kinds of obidience and found what might actually have been the worst obidience round ever to pass, by aChessie of course :D. Also saw the Chessie that is going to be Lincoln's obidience role model.
  9. Fable is so cute! Me and RS had the rally seminar today, it was very motivating and I am even more excited at training towards Rally and hopefully eventally original obidience if I don't get to scared.. We have the assesment/trial run through tomorrow and me and Lincoln will be aiming to not embrassas ourselves too much!
  10. Day 1 of the seminar was so good. I am very enthusiastic for rally but nervous for tomorrow and doing the prac with a dog who has had 1 obidence lesson.
  11. Half way between Tiggys and MM... my house? We could do somewhere in Midland though (yes I am including myself) Tiggy they did do an annoucment at class which was particularly effective as only 3 people turned up for obidience. I think a little Eastern Surburbs club between me, you and MM is probably the way to go! You guys could call it the DOL Dog Club and become ANKC affiliated ;) Ugh that sounds like so much paperwork and I think you need to have more then 3 members to be ANKC affiliated.

  13. Both my kids were healthy enough to go to training for the first time in ages last night! Lincoln is starting to learn how to heel by getting rewarded for 1 or 2 steps at attention . And Toby did a little bit of distance work over jumps with lots of motivation and speed!
  14. I was reading last night an excellent article that was part of an MDBA unit and was reading all about OFA's prelims. Now I know some dogs are tested at 6mths or 12mths for prelims in my breed (proper scans are done at 2 years) but with regards to a breeding program or imports the dog can be scanned at 3 months. The article by Rhonda Hovan called Collecting snd utililizing phenotypic data to minimize disease: A breeder's practical guide has the statistic that 90% of dogs graded normal at 3-6 months remain normal at 2 years and 80% of those diagnosed dysplatic at 3-6 months remain dysplactic as adults with the main changes occuring between dogs on the borderline of dysplatic/non dysplatic. Anyway I was wondering if anyone here has done these early predictive tests? In my eyes if you were running on a couple of pups getting scans done at 3 months might help sway your decision, also if you were importing knowing 90% your dog won't get HD would be very helpful.
  15. Just one nasty tunnel between you and a clear round. Have you resumed agility training with Toby again? I was thinking of you today as I filled in show entry forms for Ciderbear - I will have to email you to see if you are showing on these days...... ;) I am getting to a point to where I am happy with his ground work so failing another allergy flare up he will be back at training on Thursday. I will be at Winter Fest and will PM you (when I can) my show schedule for the next K9 in case you need a handler for Cider. I will also be at show training next week (hopefully ) Toby's last round was even closer, he just ran around the final jump!
  16. In case any one is interested: http://www.youtube.com/user/CBRAustralia I have my first agility trial, Tobys first (and worst) run at nationals and a couple of Lincoln at shows.
  17. Well done RS! Glad to hear Millie is doing so well!
  18. Interesting reading since I am going to Adelaide with Lincoln coming up!
  19. I am might be bringing Lincoln but I might also just watch on the second day.
  20. Angelsun now I have a warning how you can look out for me. I own the Chesapeake who has had two surgeries in the last 2 months so has had almost zilch training time. He will focus on me (esp if I have food) but him being able to do Rally stations is doubtful. So when you see the person attempting to heel with a dog who gets so ecited he keep doing vertical leaps up to his owners shoulder height, you've found me.
  21. I will try give you a copy if the power point at training. It's toobad you won't be there, is it juseme and RS then? You bringing the brown one RS?
  22. My boy is 7 months and now has his first points!!! Between one surgery for me and one for him this year we haven't been showing much but we will be hitting the ring again in July.
  23. Lincoln hasn't had a bath since the Western Classic weekend. Whenever suits you for the paperwork ST. I am do excited about the Gun Dog Club so I can't believe Colin Barnett is opening it! Because Lincoln is the first dog does that mean he will meet Lincoln!
  24. The rest are blurs I decided to go outside this morning before work to take pictures... MISTAKE! My fingers froze solid the light at 7.30am is no good and they were all blurry cause I was shivering so much! This one was before I went put. Mirawee luckily my boy is brown so the dirt just blends in!
