  1. Congrats Amypie not long till you will have double leg in the black AD JD . Lincoln is unwell so after an emergency vet trip (and on a public holiday ) I am home baby sitting the little guy.
  2. Mixed breed here that is 14 years. Oldest so far but def not on this forum.
  3. Labs can have white pactches on thier feet and chest come through if they are crossed out thought to be a throwback to ST John Water Dog Ancestry.
  4. Today I was driving home and was behind a bus so took a quiet side street shortcut. I turned the corner and a loose dog comes chargng towards my car, I have to swerve into the other lane to avoid it. Then I see the owner laughing at me while walking her other dog (which was a rotty) too offleash along the footpath. Yeah really funny if I had hit her dog or I had hit another car head on! Feeling sorry for you Bedazzled.
  5. Just found this on the Wesbite of Pony Club WA: http://l.b5z.net/i/u/6074214/i/Position_St...ng_Children.pdf (I was on thier for another reason, not meaning to pry)
  6. I would have - but too late now - settlement went through today :D :D But congratulations.
  7. Quick question. Does anyone know a boarding kennel in Perth that would let me have all 3 dogs togther/ in adjoining runs? Or very dog friendly accomodation in Bunbury? Thanks
  8. Why do they single out the one particular breed? I understand there blood is different, but is there something special about their skeletons... Surely the draining of blood is classified as some type of abuse? I don't know about the blood but for anatomical study purposes what other kind of dog would people gladly surrender over en mass? Same with OTT TB's and STB's becoming dog food. What's OTT TB's and STB's SOrry Ex racehorses and ex harness racehorses. Race breeders can be a pretty ruthless lot.

  10. Also all the dog parts/skeletons in our biology lab were greyhounds. Ask vet students which dogs they perform autopsies on.
  11. I don't think I could do it. The one time our family had issues with our dog I was very young (not even in school). She was storm phobic and had bitten me. My dad manned up and took her in to have her PTS and stayed with her while it was done. I still remember the day she 'went to the farm' the whole family was crying so much, I still feel upset to think of it. It was such a traumatic event for everyone, it boggles my mind to think how people could just leave a dog because it was easier/ they were bored of it.
  12. Why would they mention desexing in a radio ad? Most vets discuss desexing with thier patients at vaccinations ect. My puppy pre school never once discussed desexing.
  13. Also your dog needs to be on main register and entrire. And have no disqualifying faults.
  14. Sounds good! I will try and be there for the start of the lab show. I won't be showing for a while because the shaved spot on Lincoln's leg makes him look misshapen.
  15. I will have to text you about Monday ST. Will miss having you online.
  16. Chessies- HD and ED PRA (although in the states about 80% of dogs are genetically clear) DM EIC
  17. I have a stick lloving Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Given the choice of his box of toys or the box of firewood that are both in the lounge he will choose firewood 90% of the time.
  18. I am so unmotivated with Toby right now. Lincoln has a new fav game, when is is on leash going for a walk he will watch the ground in case you accidentaly kick something so that he can pounce on it. He also thinks anything laying on the ground ahead of you is something you kicked and will run up to it and dive on it, towing said handler along. I should probably do some leash training, he has been on one for a walk a total of about 5 times in almost 7 months of his life.
  19. I am pretty sure the Bunbury club is affiliated.
  20. Unless you want to travel 2 hours to Perth on weeknights I would go to the WA thread or PM Wazzat Xolo because most of us have clubs in metro Perth.
  21. We all know you want a big property because of your closet desire for a Chessie
  22. and fingers crossed that you win lotto between now and then to be able to pay for it Remembering that a dog from the US can't travel until 10 months of age at the earliest (all related to rabies vaccine) - you will also be paying board for the dog between 8 weeks of age and when it can eventually fly to Oz. Add to that a month of quarantine and :D Keep saving...... I know! The plan is to never have kids and live with my parents as long as possible to save money. Or marry that elusive rich man
  23. I want another Chesapeake and unless a miracle happens my foundation bitch will be coming from the states, so that means I have to be able to afford an import. So no more dogs for me for quite awhile.
