  1. I hope the immunotherapy works for Mason. I think the polaramine only works for Toby because it makes him too sleepy to scratch.
  2. Were you? You can buy our place ;) Not that much land! ;) More in the region of 20 acres or less.
  3. Oh no, poor Lincoln! How are Tobys allergies? Mason has been refered to Murdoch for allergy testing, I am eating plain bread and butter for the next 3 months its gonna cost a bomb... They were bad for a week or so when his paw was red and itchy but I got ointment to help and had him on Polaramine for a few days and he is fine now. I am lucky Tobys allergies are so minor! Lincoln's toe has cost me close to $1000!!!!!! Thank god he is insured! I think I have seperation anxiety from him ;) He has been tearing around like an idiot even with his toe nail hanging half off so I think once I get him home the problem will be keeping him calm. We were out your way today Mirawee looking at land
  4. Ok, by the time your beagle is OCh
  5. Yes I love theme litters. Ruby didn't come from one. I didn't know you had plans to breed! Chessies I'm guessing? Psst... what's the theme you have in mind? Yes one day, by the time I get a bitch and am ready to have a litter your grandchildren will be able to choose a puppy. One day I am so having a sitcom litter! With the show names as the tag lines of famous US shows, of course I would let owners choose . But I am keeping my lips sealed on the better and more likely ideas.
  6. I wanted Caledoniaau Baddest in the West but it was too many letters Theme litters are awesome! I already know what the theme of my first litter will be.
  7. Jenna is so naughty! They look great ozjen! So talented. I dropped Lincoln at the vet this morning as he has to get his nail pulled. I hate leaving him there. Why did he have to injure his show side nail on Sunday!
  8. Lincoln is ADAA registered as his show name. But that's so people interested in using him at stud could contact adaa and see about his titles if they wanted and all the paperwork is in his show name. But his shownamw us awesome if I may say so.
  9. It's supposed to be sunny on the weekend.
  10. Credit for that goes to Amypie or RS or Mirawee. Can't exactly remember which.
  11. I am an ADAA member with Tobylarone but we are having a trial break while we redo some stuff.
  12. Expirenced showies do you think we will be undercover or outdoors this weekend?
  13. BB I was under the impression most pet owners were paying for the puppy, not the paperwork.
  14. I have his isqueak for throwing ahead but the benefit of tug is that I can take a reward into the ring. If I can't train tug outside the house that's fine but I would love to give it a decent try.
  15. Yeah I did. It's given me some stuff to think through.
  16. It depends on the food and the toy. At home I don't use food to train, only toys. So the only time he has to choose is at training where I have high value food and he will usually choose food.
  17. Ness- Toby will shut down when he feels uncomfortable, this includes at trials where he does what I ask but loses all his motivation and becomes a velcro dog, constantly checking in and unwilling to work independantly. My indicator of when he is uncomfortable is that he won't tug, he loves to tug at home and has started to tug at training but I know if he won't tug he has lost confidence and is on the way to shutting down. I guess I don't really know how to explain what I am trying to teach him but I want to see if I can get him to work as confidently at training and trials as he does at home. In the mean time I am happy to use food rewards but if he is really uncomfortable he won't want those either. Plus it is harder to make a game out of food and gauge how he is feeling because he will take it even if he isn't so sure of whats going on. I would use iSqueaks but people complain about the noise at class
  18. Change of Position vCBR @ 'drown' Poor River I thought it stood for that but that seems way simpler then a dumbell. Unless I don't know what a change of poision is properly? Toby (the agility failure) is great at tugging at home but has no value for tug outside the property. Aside from acting like an idiot playing with his tuggy on my own any suggestions for when I go down to the park for training later?
  19. What is COP? I haven't started dumbell training yet but when I have shown it to Lincoln he puts it straight in his mouth, so we might find it easy go work through the first few steps quite quickly.
  20. When retraining an ex harness racehorse we used lots of hill work and work in boggy sand. Maybe if your friend had a clicker and got someone to click the dog for trotting.
  21. I have been using plastic garden stakes from bunnings, they are black and stick straight in the ground. I have been advised against using metal ones with larger dogs because they have little give and dogs may not learn the 2 step as quickly or be timid to slam thier body against them.
  22. Should I put you down for a Chessie mirawee?
  23. I hope they are going to trial again at your place mirawee would love to cone watch one there.
  24. Well done fetchin dawgs! Couldn't have gone to a cuter Goldie! A Goldue also won BIS at the Gun Dog Club show yesterday so a good day for the breed . Just took my dogs for a long walk in the bush, Lincoln insits on bringing me bits of dead things all the time. So hopefully by next season he will have enough of the basics to start proper training!
