  1. We also don't know if the surgery was done by Jan, it doesn't actually say that in the article, quote: which had undergone surgery earlier in the day there is another presumption.... Maree CPR
  2. Is there anyone in the area of Avalon Beach in Sydney who can do a home visit during the week. Thanks Maree CPR
  3. Jan is only 67 years old, are vets like pilots who have a use by date :) and she has been a vet for decades and a good one at that hence why she is still practicing and people still go to her. Maree CPR
  4. Why don't you tell us then what other negligence and incompetence cases Jan has against her, has she been charged, has she been fined, has she gone to jail for these incidences, if you can't openly tell us all then I suggest you not say anymore about it. Maree CPR
  5. The clinic was not open "read the post" it was after hours he trusted Jan, he rang her, to give him the advice he was asking for, she is not responsible for him measuring the dose, also Jan quite possibly told him to go to the after hours vets, and could have pressed the point about the dosage, that was not in the article, we all know the papers only report what they want to, unless you know Jan and live in Canberra and are a client of hers how dare you judge her. Her top priority is the animal and she has on thousands of occasions given vet work for nothing just so she doesn't turn a sick animal away because the owners don't have the money. The owner is responsible for his animal, not Jan, he should have made sure he was giving the right dose, he should have taken the animal to the after hours vet, he should have gone to the vet the next morning, how do you know that Jan didn't advise him to come in then, bloody hell people it is the same old thing "people need to take responsibility themselves and not blame others when it goes to shit" Maree CPR
  6. Have suggested it to her but her boyfriend is a policeman and can't afford to look after her anymore her last option is the pound and god knows where she will end up....and how many babies she will likely have or be used for dog fighting...... I am hoping someone here can take her, she is young and trainable. Maree CPR
  7. I have had a request for help in finding a new home for Zipp, the following is from the girlfriend who is asking for help on behalf of her boyfriend. Zipp is a 6 month old Staffy cross, she is beautifully natured and friendly with other dogs but is showing signs of stress and loneliness. She escapes and is now starting to chew things and fret. She is still young and would make a family really happy, or even if she could just be around other dogs which would improve her quality of life tenfold. As much as we love Zipp, we think it’s the kindest thing for her. She is fully vaccinated has a lovely kennel, toys and blankets. She is not desexed. Please contact Danielle Tel - 02 61252004 Mobile - 0416249291 Maree CPR
  8. Thanks everyone I was starting to get a tad worried as I had to bump him a few times, will touch base with the owner Thursday. Maree CPRR
  9. I don't list why people need to rehome their dogs anymore "wildthing" as the post ends up turning into a judgement on the owner and gets away from the actual post about finding a good home for the dog. If anyone is interested in finding out more they can ring the owner directly. Maree CPR
  10. I have had a request from a lady for help in rehoming her Pure Breed German Short Haired Pointer, she has spoken to the breeder but she hasn't heard back from her as yet, so am hoping by putting him on DOL he may find the "right home. His description is as follows. Kobi is a 3 1/2 year old German Shorted Pointer. He can boisterous but responds well to sit and stay commands. He does have a short attention span as his breed is a hunting dog and he smells things everywhere and has to investigate. He has become quite sooky and attached to me since we lost his brother to a brown snake in December. He loves to be with me, loves walks, loves his head and ears being patted and massaged. We walk for a couple of k's weekdays and more on the weekends. We live in the bush so apart form his brother he has not spent time with other dogs. But he spent 5 days at a kennel this month and went to doggy play group everyday and had a good time. I love Kobi but I wouldn't put him in a family with young children as he will jump up on you. He needs a secure yard. He is not good with cats. Call Helen 0419987955
  11. There was an add in Saturdays CT for "4 week" old Jack Russell pups, I rang and told the guy he was breaking the law by advertising them that young also pointed "ALL" the problems that are associated with the pups that young and the chance of them dying once they leave his property and the consequesnces of doing this. They were $350 each and his friends told him he could get $450 for each one$$$$$$$ rang in his head , I hung up knowing that I have educated him on why he was doing the wrong thing and hopefully he will get the bitch desexed, because I did say that the RSPCA will be informed of this ad, they may already have seen it as I know they troll the CT. 12. I nearly ran off the road this morning listening to the buy, swap and sell in Canberra on the radio; a guy rang up wanting to list his Jack Russell pups for sale, the announcer asked if the pups are vaccinated and microchipped and he said, "they can be" the announced then said "sorry mate you can't list pups unless they "ARE" vaccinated and microchipped and "pulled the call" I was impressed. 13. ARF have a few medium dogs on their site at the moment, also they can wait until after Saturdays and then go into the pound and look at the notes that the girls put up, also ARF have a dog wanted form on line for people who are looking for a particular dog. There are a few avenues here in Canberra for people to find their new best friend. Maree CPR
  14. Hi Maree, Do you know if he is a Wire Haired Fox Terrier or a Smooth Haired Fox Terrier? I could probably foster him but will need more info. My mother used to breed them so I am experienced with this breed. They are great dogs and very smart. I have just rehabbed three Mini Foxies and I belong to a great rescue organisation in Sydney. I will find out more and PM you, thanks. Maree CPR
  15. I have had an email from a lady who has an English Fox Terreir (don't know if he is pure) she needs to rehome him, does any one know if there is a rescue group that may be able to take him. Maree CPR
  16. Good for Cheryl you have done an amazing job getting her and looking after her and her babies. Would it be any good maybe getting the local rag in Narrandra in on the it and do a story and let people know in your area what some of their people are doing. This is severe enough to maybe hit a Current Affair and Today Tonight, they love exposing these stories, it may make people aware to not let these sorts of things slide and turn a blind eye. Huge Hugs to you Cheryl we do feel your anger and disgust and pain in finding this girl in this state and what's worse she had her babies and lost a couple just tragic. Maree CPR
