  1. He is the one from Gundagai, but has been found
  2. Pippin is a Canberra Pooch Rescue dog who pushed sleepers away from a gate tonight and is missing, he is a very small boy, has just been desexed, has a collar and fancy tag on, he was chipped today but not yet on the register will be arranging that first thing tomorrow. We only took his photo's today so will put one up as soon I get them, I worry as he is a very cute dog. I have listed this in the Lost and Found. Maree CPR
  3. Do they have another dog? or does she not need another dog?
  4. It would not matter what you wrote on a flyer/the description on the website/advertisement people ONLY read what they want to and half the time they read something that isn't even ON THE FLYER, I have this happen all the time. Maree CPR
  5. Best Friends the new vets/groomers/retail store in Tuggers are a franchise from Victoria from what one of the vets told me, so they have to run it by the big boss's in Vic it would have to go to a meeting before they can give "rescue" rates, I would not be holding my breath, they may be a tad cheaper from the "private vets but rescue can't afford those prices it is just a competitive price not rescue. 6. I have offered to put an appeal out for Reagan who is looking for a new home, I will attach a mobile number when I get it, the family have contacted his breeder and they cannot take him back. Reagan is a 3 year old male Rhodesian Ridgeback and unfortunately due to a change in circumstances needs a new home. He is desexed, vaccinated, micro chipped and on heart worm preventative. He has basic obedience (Sit, Stay, Heal, Come, Stop, Leave) and walks well on a lead. Reagan is a very loyal and caring dog and loves to be around people, he needs a home where he is included in family life not just left to sit in a backyard. Reagan is great with other animals and children and has a very placid nature however due to his size shouldn't be left alone with younger ones due to knocking them over inadvertently. 7. Yes. And if they have time & resources to offer, then offer them to the PetRescue team. As to locating a type of dog...I've found how easy it is to locate a dog by breed label on PetRescue. Even tho' their Search on site doesn't include breed. Just Google breed label and Pet Rescue. It is a tad dangerous unknown people doing home checks for them/or so called rescue groups, and unknown people entering unknown peoples properties. I was suspicious from their initial email, they are trying to reinvent the wheel, why would they take on all the work they are dong with this when we all do it ourselves by being a rescue group and some of us have been doing it for decades. 8. Is there anyone in the Lake Haven area who can do a home visit for me, it is around the Toukley area. Thanks Maree CPR
  9. The dogs at DAS that are bought by the public get a voucher for desexing, it is in the cost of the dog, it is approx. $300 to buy from DAS, they have a certain time frame to get it done, they follow up but not aware of what happens if this is ignored. Your statement re: they only allow rescue in when the dog is on death row is not correct, the public get first option on the dogs, rescue always takes what is left, if the pound allowed rescue to take what they wanted that is "dog shopping" not " rescue" Maree CPR
  10. Was the dog's pic on the pound website? also was the dog temp tested? The poor dog's living conditions weren't the best either.......
  11. I don't like to single out any one in particular BUT I have to with Carole and Jim, these 2 amazing people , they were in Canberra and did an amazing job with transport to Wagga and back nearly every other week, nothing was too much trouble for them always there to do what they could, rescue's saving grace in many situations. Carole and Jim have adopted the small scared Malt cross from a week or so ago in the pound, she has really come out of her shell and has now been given her forever home with Carole and Jim, a great outcome for all involved in her rescue. 12. Just thought people might like to see before and after shots of one of my fosters, this little girl came from the pound around 4 weeks ago, quite scared in the pound, she is now in her new home, that black thing on the cushion with her is a long haired Daschund. Maree CPR
  13. Who ever he went to can do a stat dec just to get an update for his chip in his carers name.
  14. What makes this more remarkable is that Chihuahua's HATE getting their feet wet let alone their whole body Maree CPR
  15. This is really becoming common, anyone have a contact for pure breed Rotties, am waiting to see if the owner has had any luck with the breeder as I suggested this first. Maree CPR
  16. Not sure why you think that it would not be in writing.....we would all be pretty stupid not to have it in writing. Maree CPR
  17. I have had a call from a lady who wants to rehome her 10 year old Springer Spanial male is there a Springer rescue or someone who loves the oldies. Maree CPR
  18. Eleni this was mentioned briefly at the meeting and Michael said that they would set aside pens for rescue and he wanted the temp testing to continue by ARF, as I said it was just in passing so from here on in maybe we all need to start thinking about what we as rescue in the ACT and others interstate might like to see happen and we can at least go into meetings prepared and with ideas.
