  1. Throw the glass or anything that looks like they have thrown over back and when you see her looking through the pallings just put the hose on the fence and if she yells at you just apologise and say you are watering the lawn or there is something on the fence that you are hosing off, might stop her from looking through the fence. I know someone who's neighbours dog kept pooing on their front lawn and they just went a collected it and threw it back Maree CPR
  2. I am trying to help a guy who is going through a really messy separation and he has inherited the families 2 dogs and been told that he cannot go near the house where they are. One is a 6 year old Lab/staffy girl desexed and chipped and needs an update on vaccs. Other is a Bull Arab boy oops didn't get his age, but think around 3 years old, he is desexed as well, he is an x RSPCA boy and the owner is ringing them tomorrow to see if they will take him back. Because he can't go to the house he has his mum feeding them but she is due to go back home I think interstate so he is stuck as to what he can do to make sure they are fed, so hence my post, so if there is anyone in the Mawson area who can go and feed them and maybe get them out and take them for a walk, that would really help put his mind at ease. They are looking for an option after that, I will ring Catherine at Lab rescue to see if she can take the girl who does look more lab that staffy. Anyone able to help them?? Maree CPR
  3. Yes the dog is now back with the owner, a family found the dog and saw all the posters around and on FB they did not ask for the $4000 reward so all is well April is home  Maree CPR
  4. Well I never said anything rude to you in my post at all. Didn't think I did either. Oh well. Neither did I....
  5. There are heaps of things I WANT my dogs to do but they won't BECAUSE they are dogs and think like dogs and act like dogs THEY ARE NOT HUMANS..... You can't get any more "professional advice" than the advice you have been given and the best thing is "it's free" :) Maree CPR
  6. Ok thanks hopefully it is fixed soon. Maree CPR
  7. Is anyone having problems uploading photo's on Pet Rescue? I am, so wondering if it is just me or others... Maree CPR
  8. I sent you a PM as to whether they were in Canberra I see from your post they are, I did offer to go and meet the dogs also. Maree CPR
  9. Here is Daisy with her 87 year "young" new mummy Maree CPR
  10. Ok we now have another update today: Another big day for Daisy (or Daisy Belle as Mum calls her)! I picked Mum up at 10 am (Mum had already got up early and taken her for a 'brisk' walk) and went to DAS to get her registered so now she is 'legal'. Then it was off to Pet Stock where we purchased a new lead, shampoo and had a name tag engraved. A new bed was also on the list but none were deemed 'worthy' so we went to Powell's Stock Feed in Phillip and found the perfect one (high sided, washable and very cosy). I have also ordered online a collar with daisies on it which is to be her birthday present. The dog park was next where Daisy pottered about with her 'cousins' then off to lunch at an outdoor cafe. I think Daisy has experienced more in two days than she has in whole life and needless to say she fell asleep as soon as she got in the car. Little darling was exhausted! Maree CPR
  11. I am sure everyone remembers the post about Hazel, well here is an update on her and her new home which she found today. Hazel's new owner is an 87 year "extremely young" lady I hope I am as fit and healthy when I get to her age, her daughter Pam (Pam is a visitor here on DOL as well so knew all about Hazel/Daisy) was the one who rang me and Hazel and I meet them both today and Hazel is now tucked up in bed and probably on her new mums bed by the way  Hazel is now called Daisy and it is spooky as that was Hazel's name previously and the ladies didn't know that until I mentioned it. Anyway here is an extract from an email Pam sent me tonight and pics of Daisy in her new home and WOW is she one lucky pooch. The first one is of her with a toy that is now hers much to the disgust of Elle! The second is at the dog park and the third I have called "Princess Daisy right at home"! I gave her a bath, clipped her nails. I looked after her this afternoon and evening as Mum had already made plans with a friend and she certainly made herself at home! She has already picked up on "wait" which is the most useful thing I have taught my dogs. We went to the dog park and then shopping so I guess I've been "Driving Miss Daisy" today! Changing her name to Daisy hasn't been an issue as she doesn't answer to Hazel anyway so now it's just a matter of reinforcing her new name. Thank you Maree for allowing Mum to have her, we all adore her and she has put a smile back on Mum's face. Rest assured she will be loved forever as our dogs/pets are our life and I'm so happy I followed my hunch about her. Funny you should ask for a photo of all of us as I intended to ask the staff at Petstock tomorrow to take a photo of us all. Daisy is getting a complete new 'wardrobe' and I can hardly wait as I love shopping!! Rang Mum earlier to see how things were going and they were cuddled up together watching telly-how adorable. Another amazing rehoming, a wonderful little dog to a wonderful family.
  12. CPR does the same as ARF, although we give a 2 week trial not 3, the adoption agreement says "you accept the dog as is" and all costs incurred by the new owner during the trial period is the responsibilty of the new owner. I have some people who take the dog to their vet before the trial period is up and I am fine with that, had one woman who did this with a pure breed Chi and her vet said the dog had major issues with her front legs and it will cost hundreds of $$$$ for x-rays, the dog came back and I had the x-rays done for $132 and there was nothing wrong with them, I sent her the vet report and never heard back and of course the dog did not go back either. Had one just last week and it was her luxating patella's, which I pointed out to her and that her own dog had them as well, her vet said the dogs back legs both needed surgery, "sigh" got a secong opinion from West Queanbeyan and low and behold it is a birth defect in her cerebellum, nothing can be done, I did pay that vet visit only $50 so I am getting a tad annoyed at some of these vets when they know it is a rescue dog.... I would not have paid the $700 if she had been told up front and it was on the adoption agreement then it will stand up in court. Maree CPR
  13. Dogmad I find once they get in a pack situation they try it on and realise that they are not going to get anywhere, a shame I am so far away as I would look after him/her Maree CPR
  14. She will be having her "professional photo shoot" on Sunday morning so will put up a few more early next week. Maree
  15. Ok bad pic but the best I could do. Maree CPR
  16. I had a call from a lady who said she was a police woman at one of the stations in Canberra and wanted to come and meet some of my dogs, I explained that I did not have people coming to my place as a security issue because I live alone and don't want people coming here, she was a tad annoyed and said "I don't think I'll bother if you can't trust the police who can you trust" I don't discrimate, it wouldn't matter if it was the pope I still wouldn't have anyone here.... Maree CPR
  17. My photographer is having issues with her computer, I don't have the connections to my mobile phone and my camera, I have just been out buying a new camera and will get the pics taken when I have time as rescue takes up a lot of my day and I answer all my calls at night, so please be patient, I will get them when I have time.... :) I am not having a go at anyone just letting you know the problems I am having also the time is a factor as well. Maree CPR
  18. This is the reason I NEVER have people coming to my place I always take the dog/s to them, if you can't do this then maybe set up an area where they don't have the opportunity to just wander around. Maree CPR
  19. I think you need to go back to the drawing board, I find it offensive and I'm no prude but really do you need to say "shit day" "screwed you over" and putting in Carl's quote, I would not want CPR listed on the site, it is rather unprofessional and yes the question is "do we want or need another site" we already have Pet Rescue, our own site, allclassified and Gum Tree. I have many calls from families who look for a dog together and would hate for young children and many seniors to have to read this sort of thing, they hear it every day in their daily lives but "is it really necessary"? I don't think so. These are my views only. Maree CPR
  20. I can assure you she will not be going to a home where she is outside all day for 8 hours all alone, I will be looking for a home with maybe a stay at home mum/retired couple who are still active a couple of older kids, she will be an inside outside dog, she will be sleeping inside preferbly in mum and dads room, walks and the occasional run in the dog parks, not much to ask for she stays with me until this family comes along. Maree CPR
  21. LOL - what I was thinking. They are coming will get them on Saturday at the RSPCA's adoption day. Hazel went to the groomers today and came back smelling like a rose, she was great and just loved the groomers children, Hazel is a delight, loves people not to fussed on the other dogs but that may change as she settles in. Will keep you all up to date on her progress. Maree
  22. It's Therese with Jack Russell Rescue she lives in Queanbeyan, I will be collecting Hazel around 3 this arvo. Maree CPR
  23. All sorted, I will be collecting Hazel from Marulan on Sunday morning. Maree CPR
