Pack Management Suggestions Please
MonElite replied to westielover's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I guess I do count as well then, I have 3 and a 4rth one visiting often. My 3 all run together, never a problem. 2 girls one boy all entire visitor is a desexed boy, best friend with Furia. Accepted by the other two, but if Furia and Obi play raugh Rex sometimes tends to get into it as well and then they all gang up on Obi. Mind you this only happens when they are really excited, such as first let out off lead on a walk etc. At home Furia and Obi play non stop the other two just look at them rolling thier eyes thinking - ahhh kids, freaks and idiots. Re play times with me - Rex just gets pets, he is old and preffers to stay home and get cuddles, is taken for walks with the others, sometimes short ones by himself. Girls - taken to training mostly both, sometimes Furia only. They all get run off lead daily, together. -
There is no better place on earth for the dogs to be boarded then kennels run by PAX that is a member here. They are in Londonderry and the dog might be refusing to go back home

Walking Through Vic Market Last Sunday
MonElite replied to newfsie's topic in General Dog Discussion
I will never understand why arent we allowed to take dogs to more places. When in Paris last year I had seen two woman doing some shopping in the Galeries Lafayette. One had a mini poodle and the other a harlequin gread dane. This is the depertment store Im talking about, they were in the cosmetics section. -
DOL breed specific web pages breed specific magazines catalogues for specialty shows your own website All in all a dog has to prove itself to others to be worthy of being used, no matter how much advertising one does if the dog is sh*t it most likely wont get used. Breeders know what they want most of the time, and know what they dont want all the time

Except that most wild dogs (such as dingos) only come on heat once a year, not twice like domestic dogs. Plus in the wild dog pack the alpha male mates, and might prevent other males to mate, so its not exactly true what Cesar said. I own a 10 year old very famous show dog with titles galore that has been used at stud. In his entire life he had aprox 10 girlfriends, so hardly two a year. And he hasnt had a girlfriend in abut 3-4 years, lives with 2 entire bitches and might get a bit frustrated when they are on heat, but I certainly wouldnt think he needs to mate!!!! Dogs can mate any time of a year and a male would do it daily if given an opportunity, so the two times a year is a total BS. All I can say is that if the dog has not mated he doesnt know what he is missing, once he does mate, he wants it more. Also you need to consider the fact that your dog can potentially become a bit dog agressive after he studs (refer the paragraph about alpha male eliminating other males)

Divani would like to thank everyone for the birthday wishes. I didnt spoil her to much, took her to training, made her do a small obedicne routine in the rain and then left her in a drop stay in the rain for about 5 minutes.. And then fed her seafood laksa at home, for dinner. She LOVES laksa. Seems that Furia likes it as well, she was stealing some from her Mum. Freaks!!!!

And this one was just few days later

This was the first pic I have taken of her when I got her.

She is 4 years old. From a fruitloop puppy with super oversize ears, through a silly adolescent where she didnt want to be touched my any human stranger male, through shows where she became a champion, endurance test to get the ET title, being trained in obedience and giving me a cutest litter of pupps last year she is now a mature dog woman. Proud and healthy, guards my place very well, is a total princess that owns a sofa and shows her daughter some pretty good tricks but more naughty stuff. She has eaten leather sofas, dug holes, bailed up people, taught Furia how to swim, slep in my bed on far many more occasions then she supposed to. Loves her food and lost her nice figure after having kids and has big boobies. I call her the brown bitch with pretty eyes. She can lovingly look at anyone and win them over with her chatter. She selects people she will want to spend time with and if she likes them I tell them they are privilidged, and when she does like someone she is one super loving dog. Happy birthday girl, I guess I better go and get you some chicken laksa as this is your favourite food. And I hope Ruthless will post some pics of her

You go to seminars to listen, learn, watch and widen your horisons. And if you learned something you might want to try it on your dog. Ive been to seminar about all sorts of subjects: tips of obedience rings, training in drive, handlers seminar where you work with unknown dogs, bite work seminars, every day behaviours semianars. Often stuff is posted here about something upcoming, watch this section and choose if you want to go or not. When you say - she can do all the gundog stuff - that is pretty involved sport, why not start with basic obedience competitions or agility?

They look soooo happy doing it and it tickles our human emotions of providing happyness to someone or something we love.
-
Absolutly!!! Best kennels in Sydney with the nicest people looking after the dogs. Home away from home.
-
My next dog will most likely come from the belly of one of my current girls so it will be a puppy. I voted other but it could be a DOL breeder as Im one of them. Alternativelly I might import. No DOL has not influenced me.
