Ah so you did get some sunshine then ;) Nice pics, looks like you got some good walking in :D
-
Cool shots :D Particularly like the bridge one, although one guy has half a leg  Hope you had a great trip and look forward to seeing more shots - did it rain the whole time you were there?
-
I haven't put much thought into it RV - I was just going to head for the beach and hope to catch some surfers/kite surfers  AFL sounds challenging though, so might be tempted!
-
Finally got a chance to sit down and comment on the Abstract shots - what a great selection of photos and interpretation of the theme :D I was hoping to get out today to get some pics, but Indy has been a bit poorly so I wanted to stick around at home. Luckily next week is a long weekend so will hunt down some sport somewhere in Perth

What beautiful horses! and looks like you're enjoying the lens, lovely shots -
I think it's upside down  Great capture with lovely reflections

I've just had a look through the Lembeh photos on your blog - they are absolutley stunning!! The colours are beautiful and electric at times, and the subjects just totally fascinating - I didn't realise how teeny the pygmy seahorses are - do they have fins? I guess they must do but couldn't spot any  Too many amazing shots to pics favs

Thanks Kirislin, I'll try the diopter adjustment this weekend. Yup I used to have great vision too, but as I hit 45 this year I have finally had to admit it isn't what it used to be
-
Ah yes, now I've understood that short sighted means you can see close things ok
-
Now you've confused me  are you saying you do wear glasses when looking through the viewfinder?
-
Ok thanks RV, I think I was thinking about it too much and confusing myself
-
Ok so I've just got my first pair of real glasses and its shocking how bad my reading eyesight had got I can now read labels again, and my phone and iPad are so much clearer! My question relates to using my camera, how do I know that what I think is in focus is really in focus? Should I be using my glasses? My eyesight is ok for most normal things, it's just the reading/computer screen range that has gone to pot

That's a very sweeping statement - I myself had a 'working type' cocker in the UK and knew plenty of people with them in non-working pet homes who were very well equipped to deal with them. With regards to the Patterdale, the ones I knew were owned by a guy who used them for rabbiting back home - tough little buggers  but they look nothing like a staffy cross.
-
Damn you're trying to make me work for this theme aren't you  Ok I'll give that a go tonight :p
-
Yeah but it also requires imagination rather than just shooting what you see, and I kinda lack in that department  That's a super birthday pressie - Look forward to seeing some shots with it :D
-
oops double post
-
Peanuts compared to the number I took for the bird theme Snook  I've been very slack with this one and might have one or two that may fit the theme - I'm getting home a bit earlier today so was hoping for 30mins of good light outside at least - but now it's raining out there! I don't think this is going to be my best theme
-
One of the reasons why we chose to re-home our Grey in the UK rather than bring her over - she would never get the chance to have a good run over here She would no longer be able to this..... or this or this :)
-
Wow, that's amazing Piper Fantastic to get those shots, even through the glass! I'm not sure poor pidgie will last long after those talons had hold of it though. You should pop the pics in the Wildlife thread as someone in there will know for sure what it is :) http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/142097-wildlife-in-our-lives-and-gardens/

Looks like you had a blast and Elsie made some friends Super pics and the second one in the second post is just beautiful :) The beaches remind me of the ones we left behind in Scotland, wide and long with lovely golden sand :)
-
So funny :D Congratulations everyone, sounds like some great results all round
-
I was hoping people might think it was fun and interesting, not traumatic. :p LOL, no it will be interesting - you probably felt the same way towards the birds one  I was just thinking along the lines of blurry, out of focus macro type stuff Thanks for links Snook, they have helped a lot actually
