We have at least 6 i can think of around here, and the common thing........they are crazy, all seem to be on speed! Really i have never met such full on dogs, all different sizes, and colours, and not one which i could live with. They are all very loving sweet dogs, and all very submissive, one very nervous.

My dally has had it tough the last 6 months. He is 13, firstly we decided to remove all his lumps and bumps which were starting to obstruct his movement on his hind legs. All went well, then he picked up a mini corn on our walk one day, luckily threw it up, but damaged his internal parts, was really sore, had to spend time at vets recovering. Then 3 weeks ago he got a urate stone blockage again after being clear for 8 years, surgery again. He seemed to recover well, although cant hold on all night atm due to being stitched in the bladder as well as around his penis. I have all my dogs in kennels atm as i had surgery this week ( veins stripped), and can't look after them. so yesterday the kennels ring to say he is drinking heaps and then chucking it up, chucked up his brekky too. They have been great, and took him to my vet, he has had bloods taken and is on zantac and antibiotics, but still drinking alot. I suppose i' m just here for support, and advice as to what it might be. i can't drive, or walk hardly atm, doped up myself on meds, so feel really useless that i can't be with him either.

Quakers Hill vet at Burdekin road nearer Schofields really. I have been going for years and rescue groups do use them too lots of greghound trainers use them, in fact some ,days its hard to spot anything else but greys

Exactly, if you are not doing monthly preventative treatment on all your pets they could have them. You need to kill them first,( Capstar) then do the spot on every month.

Any answer as to ingredients? or wether he considers it too high in purine for a dally? -
I am going in Tuesday, they are booked atm till Thursday. They can stay longer if need be. I have no idea how i will be feeling, hopeing by Thursday i am ok to walk them again, if not they can stay longer. Surgeon wants me walking straight away, but not sure that means 3 dogs for 2 daily hour long walks

I am going to hospital next week for day surgery so i am putting the dogs into kennels for a couple of days for peace of mind. ( would worry too much about the kids trying to look after them). However, i am worried that although i will be up and about the next day, i won't be allowed to drive ( getting veins done in leg),for me to be able to drive to get them after 2 days. I don't see the point them being in kennels if i am ok, and walking, i just may not be able to get them home. So, does anyone know of a good tranport company for short local runs? The dogs are booarding in londonderry, and need to come home to Glenwood.

Sheena, can you pm me the device please? My BT is very bitey and she is nearly 4. I didn't get her till she was almost 3, kennel dog used to breed from. She gets bitey when she plays, and when she wants your attention. I have used the water pistol method, will try the pressure, but a BT's skull is like concrete, so not sure it will have much effect. I use NILF with her, and it has made a difference she is not as bad.

Vets All Natural - Perfect Puppy Nutrition
juice replied to Dr Bruce Syme's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Actually i have just found the same problem, i have been feeding my BT VANS, for about 6 months, but feed the 15 kg bag, which has no list of ingredients on. My 13 yr old dally has just had a urate stone blockage again, the last one was about 8 yrs ago, and since then i have been feeding firstly optimum, and now Advance and wings and necks. I am considering putting him on the Vans too, i have a list of high purine foods, but without an ingredients list for Vans i can't work out wether it would be bettewr for him. -

Advice On Raw Diet - Urate Stones In Bladder
juice replied to RuralPug's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My 14 old dally has just had surgery for the second time for urate stone blockage. I did lots of research last time ( 8 years ago), low purine ( fish is very high), i have a list of the high foods. He was on Advance chicken and rice, and wings and necks. We are awaiting results, Hills test for free ( as they want you to buy their food), but we are pretty sure they are urate again. my vet ,( different one to last time), has suggested addding bicarb to his food to level out the ph. -
I think you will find people here get frustrated when asked for advice and then its ignored. everyone told you to make sure the breeder knew what they were doing and health tested, you chose to completley ignore all advice and buy the pup anyway. To be honest it looks like a xbred lab, if you saw a pic of a proper SBT pup you would see what they are supposed to look like.

geez they look scared, the last one in post 21 is a heartbreaker

Suppose that date is a sat? Would love to have brought Ozzdog back, he came from there as an 8 week old foster that never left  But i work sat, busiest day i can't afford to lose. -
I have to say i am worried too, please say its not a blue pup? Don't feel you have to commit till you are sure this breeder has done all the health checks, what looks like a cute healthy pup now could turn into a health nighmare and cost you alot of money and heartbreak.

Did your ad state they needed to have another dog ? The GSD could well be made up , thats why it wasn't going to be there, and she made up an excuse? Either way, dodgy. -
