  1. Oh no Lhok! You so don't deserve this. I am so sorry to hear. Hoping for the best outcome for you xo
  2. I had an xtrail and also loved it for dogs. But I had to get a van for the business and it too is the best dog car! doesn't do off road though
  3. My OH peed on the malinois puppy once. But it was an accident. She stuck her head between his legs or something over the toilet bowl at just the wrong moment! He hosed her off afterwards - with water!
  4. I found this video interesting, it just came up on my FB tonight. However most breeders don't go to this much effort so I am keen to have my puppy by 8 weeks of age so that I can make sure all the socialisation work is done the way I want it. If I were buying from a breeder that did as much as the people in that video, I might be happier to wait longer. The fear period time is mentioned in there as 8 - 10 weeks. I have heard different sources say both 8-10 or 12 weeks and others say it varies depending on the pup.
  5. I get the comments about food rewards too. Drives me insane sometimes. I got given a heap of dog training advice from a salesman at a bike shop when i went to buy my bicycle and told him it was to exercise my dogs. His background of knowledge: He currently owns his first ever dog, a dalmation. But he knows a guy that trained with a british military dog trainer. He told me the first thing I need to know is that dogs are stupid. They can't learn any words. It's all tone of voice. Everything they do is from instinct, not intelligence.
  6. I love some of Kikopup's stuff. But this article and some of her beliefs are a bit extreme. I went to her seminar and dogs weren't allowed to be worked on collars. Everyone had to have a harness. So I took my dog on a harness and had a spare harness too and spoke to her and she was saying how she hasn't found a perfect harness yet, they all cause discomfort around the shoulders or under the arms/front legs. They were testing all these harnesses and getting custom made ones for their dogs. She was a lovely person but it's just not practical.
  7. I had this with my new pup. She was on half Black Hawk dry and half raw. Switched her to total raw natural diet. Skin and coat improved within days. itchiness gone. Smooth sleek soft coat and skin way better. Every time she had dry her coat and skin would dry out straight away.
  8. I would imagine she will start slowing down, well I hope so or you'll have giant Malinois  Now I'm going to hijack the thread with puppy pics. Hopefully I will have some new ones to contribute to this thread before the year is out ;) Baby Wiz and Daisy (Daisy is extremely unimpressed LOL!) Here is a before and after shot of me and Wiz! You realise the after shot is meant to be in the same position ie you holding her in your arms? ;)
  9. She's looking so grown up! I put Wiz in soft hide too it looks so pretty on them :) Wiz would be around 28kg now at 22 months. I didn't find she grew substantially past 8 months, but I am still expecting her to bulk up a bit more even now. ETA: I have a picture of her at 7/8 weeks with Daisy and she was so tiny! So funny to look back on how little they were. That's the weight I'm expecting envy to get to so she better slow down now lol Its such a difference looking back isn't it. They were so round and floppy. Would love to see the wiz puppy photo
  10. She has way overtaken the other dogs now. They aren't impressed at her hogging the limelight in front of them.
  11. Jack he is stunning! Envy weighed in at 23.4 KGs last night!! She isn't even 6 months old yet!
  12. Hello! We've been busy and I don't get a chance to post too often but I've kept up to date with the thread and all your pups are growing so fast! As is mine! Took some photos of Envy today with the nice camera
  13. I'd get cameras and/or signs that advise of camers or dummy cameras. He could still hurt them from the outside if he is that kind of person ie baits or scaring your dog with loud noises . Knowing or thinking he is on film should deter him.
  14. Yesterday I took Envy with me to the horse paddocks to help me pick up horse poo. Well, to watch. It was a bit hot and next thing, I look over and she is climbing into the horse water tub She also had a ride in the wheelbarrow She laid right down in the tub the next time.... And became concerned a bit when a huge horse came over to see why there is a dog in her water
  15. Pooped after doing zoomies around the yard and in and out of the clam shell pool
  16. Thinking of you and Roo today Jelly. It came too fast You are the most dedicated dog owner.
  17. I wouldn't go up to a random stranger and say it as you don't know if maybe they just adopted the dog or it has a medical issue etc. But with my training clients, friends and family, I tell them because I want their dog to be healthy. Some people are in denial and refuse to admit there is an issue. There is probably only one client I can think of who really took what I said on board and put her dog on a healthier diet, less extras and gave him more exercise. He has slimmed right down, healthier coat and like a whole new dog. She is really happy with how he is now and glad she did something about it. I had one lady last week who has some strange arguments on how to feed a dog and what a healthy weight was.
  18. My three having fun yesterday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYUgk2xdTrY&feature=youtube_gdata_player https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iKOVXaF2Ww&feature=youtube_gdata_player https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CLvEaAVAv4&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  19. I'll have to get my regular vet to look at it, she is more thorough. This other vet had no idea how to approach it when I said I'm not spaying! I'm especially not doing it at 6 months, if at all. So she then said, do it when she next has an anaesthetic then for something else. Not sure how often the average pup goes under anaesthetic but.....
  20. Sorry to hear Treble isn't feeling well. I'd love to see some more photos of him when he is feeling better. You mentioned a hernia. Envy has a small one, I don't remember noticing it when I picked her up and the breeder didn't notice it either but I noticed it not long after and it's still there. Not going down in size but not increasing either. Can anyone give me some info? I asked a vet who had a look at it and said to get it fixed when we spay but I'm not planning on spaying.
  21. Awww cool. I get excited when I see other mals too. What was his name?
  22. The trollop chilling in her pool Relaxing at the esplanade
