  1. Yes exactly. Same here, great breeder, all health checks going back at least 5 generations and my lemon has cost me over $16000 with more than likely another $8000 surgery next year...and he's not even 2 yet. My breeder was amazing and refunded his purchase price which I did not want to take but my now ex insisted. So sorry for this to happen but sometimes crappy things happen to good people. And at least this pup ended up with someone that is prepared to do whatever is needed!
  2. Oh that is disgusting, poor dog I do one of Coopers daily as he really doesn't enjoy it. Molly usually gets hers done once a fortnight as just a small trim up.
  3. Just checking in to see how your Rommi is?
  4. Kirty I am so sorry your girl seems to be having trouble
  5. I really don't want to worry you (anymore than you already are I know) but my cat had this and it turned out to be a melanoma, she had the eye removed and she lived for another 18 months. Hoping your girl is perfectly fine ((hugs))
  6. I am so pleased he is home where he belongs!
  7. Oh I have just caught up with Mac and I am so very happy for you both! Mr Mac sounds like a tough little nut Please give him a gentle smooch from me and the muddy GSDs when he gets back home.
  8. My boy gets fed twice a day but lately (perhaps due to the colder weather) he throws up bile around 4ish. I have been feeding him a small lunch and he seems fine now.
  9. I am so sorry about the prat who did that to you Thank you so much for the Roo updates and pics, she is beautiful :)
  10. Glad to hear he is happy! That is lovely to read! I tried the same brand of melatonin with Molly to no avail so I hope that is one of the combination of things that help Mac.
  11. My vet when we were still in QLD set up an account so I could send the blood to Vetpath in WA. Including the cost to take bloods and courier it was around $100 per dog for Parvo and Distemper. I didn't go for Hep either. Now with my new vet I asked him and he will do the same instead of sending it to Gribbles which is much more expensive. Perhaps if you have a good relationship with your current vet, you could ask them to do the same (set up an account with Vetpath).
  12. Thank you both :) Crits, thank you so much, I would love to take you up on your lovely offer at some time :) I hope you and Poppy are slowly healing (((hugs)))
  13. Yes HUGE friends! Mrs Rusty Bucket, I hadn't thought of that at all but you are right. I will have to check his policy details and when he does have the next surgery will send them a copy of this letter and keep my fingers crossed.
  14. I'm sorry to hear about Mac I know it's not soft at all but what about a Bunnings wire compost bin? I used one when Coop was a puppy as they are only about $20 I think?
  15. I am so very, very sorry for your loss of Coby Would some rescue remedy perhaps help? Please be kind to yourself and a gentle pat for Poppy.
  16. Thank you all! I am so very happy and the best part is they wrote that if he does need the left side done (Prob next year) if I get pre-approval they may pay the same amount. So half is way better than none! He is doing really well, he is still not really allowed to play properly but is doing great on his walks. And now we are 'in the country' he has new friends :)
  17. I haven't been on her for ages (not much internet allowance) but wanted you to know I am keeping you and your special girl in my thoughts (((hugs)))
  18. I just thought I should update :) I wrote a letter asking for his claim to be reviewed and included a letter the surgeon wrote for me....today I received a cheque for $4000!!!!!! They said as a gesture of goodwill they will pay what is a fair amount for a FHO (which would have been covered). I am so bloody estatic!!!!
  19. I am sending you both a gentle hug, it is awful to see them like that. When my boy had his THR, I was in tears just listening to his whimpering. I hope he is feeling a little brighter in the morning.
  20. Wow thank you all so much for all the feedback! I really appreciate it! I think I will try and make something to fit on the existing ones first and if that doesn't work then I will try some of these suggestions. Thank you all again :)
  21. Oh thank you! By fleece to you mean sheepskin or like polar fleece?
