  1. Slippery Elm has really helped Stella. I only gave her one last night & this morning yard pick up looked half like it should Might give her another one today. See how she goes. Thanks for the heads up Nebhket :)
  2. I have just started to watch some of his stuff on utube. Very impressive stuff. I really like the way he teaches. Makes style perfect sense to me. Oh & what I wouldn't give to have my 2 do heel work half as good as what he does with his dog. Makes me salivate  I'm thinking I would like to buy his heel work DVD as I'm determine that it would help solve a lot of me issues with both mine actually. They tend to pull on lead, not all the time but they do on occasion & besides it being bloody annoying I find once they get in front of me I have lost any control I had of them. So that is another goal of mine & the sooner the better :) I did some running backwards with Stella this morning & she loved it !!! I was amazed how focused she was on me. She just did simple stuff, a few sits & downs. Weave between my legs & stuff. While I moved about though it was all eyes on me
  3. Hankdog, I've got one of those here as well. Looks very much like a Border Collie in a chicken suit though. Surprise Surprise  Wobbley, sorry to hear you are unwell. Good luck & I hope everything goes well for you & have a speedy recovery. Totally understand re OH walking your dog. My OH did walk our 2 on occasion & I'm still trying to get them back in order. Don't get me wrong I really appreciated him walking them after a long day at work it was at times the last thing he wanted to do but he took them anyways. He also walks them in the bush. When he walks them he pretty much lets them do what they want. Pull, walk in front of him etc. So I still have some correcting to do  I brought my tread mill off Ebay if you were wondering. Just had to make sure that the running space or belt was longer than 1300 & 45 cm wide for my size dog. They need the extra to accommodate their length of stride. There are lots of different ones available but I did find that most of them under $500 had a very short belt unfortunately. Very happy with mine though & delivery was next day as well. The kids love it!!!! Corvus, that's a great pic of you & your guys. Very natural & they look so content
  4. :( Ness so it a easier for Kenz usually when it is raining to walk?
  5. Nebhket, I will give that a try. I have noticed Stella is a lot more focused on me when I move funnily enough. So it makes perfect sense to move more. Can't promise I will be able to keep up with her as she is like lightening but I will speed up & backwards is something new I never thought to do. She is a complex little girl. I often find she stares at me, like right into my eyes & tilts her head like she is trying to "get" what I'm saying or something. I know that sounds strange but that's one of the many quirks she has. Lets see how we go with this then. Thanks for your help :)
  6. Yes we can only hope it's not another BC issue.
  7. Corvus I can't get the link to work unfortunately. Are there any other sites I can view to get some ideas regarding impulse control exercises. I think Stella has a very hard time controlling herself & it is a big problem for her. I can see she reaches a point when it is all to much even though she does try & resist. She whines & cries a lot. Jumps & spins around on lead if there is something that has set her off, eg mower. So I can relate well with the OP & it is frustrating for both owner & dog. If I can teach Stella some self control I think she wont get nearly as anxious & vocal. I think I have been doing the wrong thing as I have been working around her so as not to set her off instead of addressing her issues because she gets so upset/cries/whines I've been doing everything to avoid that.If that makes any sense. I just didn't want her upset. That won't improve her though, will it? ERRRRRRRR....
  8. I was wondering if you had contacted the breeder regarding Kenzie's litter mates ness, being a genetic thing. Poor Kenz girl & poor you ness Such a cruel situation. Kenzie in such pain physically not to mention the mental torture of not being able to do anything & you have to witness this
  9. I use the Natural Animal Solutions Omega 3 oil sup. & am really liking what I see. They have a great range of products.
  10. Thanks for the heads up regarding slippery elm MM. I have both my guys on limited reg. so no babies here.
  11. Yes she's 2 years old Nekhbet. Will source some Recharge, appreciate your help .
  12. Stella has always carried on, whinnes etc. she is very vocal, especially if there are other dogs around. Sitting still is almost impossible for her. She gets very frustrated. Sounds like I will have to start making her settle. I find myself rushing so she doesn't start to get upset. I'll have to change my thinking a bit I think.
  13. Oh OK then, I was going way too fast then. Poor girl I was expecting too much. I was just concerned about her not getting enough nutrients from cooked chic, boiled rice & a small amount of boiled pumpkin.
  14. Thanks Nekhbet, again.. :) I will try a slippery elm cap as well then. I didn't know about those. I was going to leave her on the Protexin for a while. Actually I am giving to both my guys as I have noticed Sonny is slightly upset of late as well. Stella has improved since I made her fast but her yard pick up is still really soft. She isn't running to go now or anything like she was before. Seems as soon as I try to upgrade her diet off bland food, say from cooked chic to raw roo or beef, her tummy doesn't cope very well atm.
  15. I have nothing to add either & I would be the same as DD. Once I laid eye's on 'my puppy' there would be NO taking her back. I too wish you well with what ever you decide to do.
  16. Wobbley, thanks for your kindness to inquire about how I am. Am doing loads better now thank goodness. Just nice to be home, in your own bed & eat your own food & stuff. Not have somebody wake you up with a flash light every hour during the night. And yes Stella still loves her Treadmill  She is a funny one. She loves everything as long as there is a treat involved. The TM is worth its weight in gold when I was unable to walk them & with all the rain of late. I put them on 1/2 hour in the morning & the same at night. 15 mins alternate dog. At a steady walking pace with the incline activated slightly. IMHO it is a lot safer as I wouldn't trust anyone to walk them. Especially Stella as she is pretty reactive. Not an easy dog by any means.
  17. Poor little pup Hope she recovers OK.
  18. Bugger...Wish I lived closer as I would love someone to train with & I'm sooooo keen. I think your right it would be fun to train with a buddy. You can also help each other out if need be :)
  19. Oh OK Nekhbet so that's what that is about. Hope this product helps Stella with a slight case of diarrhoea that she has had for a couple of days. I have fasted her for 24 hours & now just have her on a very bland diet. & introduced Protexin
  20. The 'In feed' thing threw me as well Thanks so much for your help Raffikki :)
  21. Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone could clarify the dosage ratio of Protexin powder. Understand the first 5 days to give at 'stress level' & then cut down to maintance level. The label on my bottle I just received isn't very clear to me Going by it I should give her 4 grams a day for the first five?? Stella is a little bit off of late, upset tummy, & she is 17 kg. I don't want to give her the wrong amount & upset her more. Thanks in advance for your help :)
  22. Awesome shots. Just beautiful. Tigers are magnificent.
  23. Yep, these tradies are usually pretty spot on when it comes to weight. OH is a tradie as well & has a really accurate guesstimate meter when it comes to that. Sumo is getting more cute by the minute if that's possible  Stunning BIG baby boy
  24. I just wanted to add that I think you are doing the right thing not allowing any other dogs around her just yet. IMHO there is plenty of time for that. Much more important to get her responding/bonding with you & learning some basic obedience first. She's lovely & good on you for trying to help her :)
