  1. I love Sumo !!!!! I have always loved Saints as well although I have never owned one. My condolences tails for the lose of your Bernese
  2. Awwwww perse, Sophie is just beautiful Love both photo's but the 'waiting for my dad' is a heart tickler. She is just delightful & after such a rough start she has a wonderful life full of contentment & love now thanks to you :)
  3. Staffyluv, Love the pic's of Zig & Zip Especially the one of them blowing ZZZZZ's together. So lovely :) Must admit I can see a bit of Boxer in Zip as well.
  4. Another Ninja thing happening here as well. I don't do chocolate but a long cool glass of bubbles of a night to iron out any kinks at the end of a reactive Stella day I am certainly very guilty of  Loved the article, thanks for sharing
  5. God that is bloody disgusting alright I don't get how owners can let their dogs go like this. Just how do they as you say "not notice". Beyond me
  6. I trim both my guys when needed, as soon as I see those little white ends or hear them clicking when they walk on the cement paths. Usually works out around fortnightly. Neither of them are huge fans about it but they tolerate it without fuss :) Poor pup in those pic's. It is a wonder he could walk with the length of his nails but that dew claw is just disgusting What is wrong with people don't they check their dogs feet. Or was this poor fella a stray?
  7. Congrats Ness, well done Hope she enjoyed her Maccas treat LOL . Beautiful pic of her. She certainly doesn't look her age. Just lovely :)
  8. Sorry for the loss of Bernie persephone He sounded like he was a lovely character. A chatty one too. RIP Bernie boy...
  9. Geez hankdog It is hard enough walking a reactive dog let alone dealing with off leash aggressive ones as well. Nothing makes me more frustrated/mad than careless dog owners. They can really make your life a nightmare when you are trying to do whats best for your own dog & you have to also contend with the likes of this.
  10. Shesha is beautiful. Look at those awesome eye's
  11. Raineth, it is pretty annoying for you not to be able to walk your dog with all those loose dogs about. Shame the owner isn't responsible enough to keep them under effective control. Thanks for your well wishes regarding Miss Stella. She is blowing me away atm with her behavourial improvement. She makes me all warm & fuzzy with pride as silly as that sounds.
  12. Oh we were just having a Newf withdrawal was all :)
  13. Sorry but I think even though this poor pup is breathing doesn't mean she has quality of life. There is such a BIG difference..... I would have given her her wings at birth I understand the point some are making that she doesn't know the difference but WE do. Another huge question is WHY is she being kept alive for????? To stroke peoples ego's ???? I believe so. IMHO I believe this is a very cruel & sad situation for the puppy
  14. Excellent point persephone :p
  15. I am no vet nor giant expert either but what Nekh said. A good quality giant puppy dry food. Small feeds & often. Your right with wanting to do this slowly to start. And as others have said find a good vet experienced in giants if possible. Once she starts to put condition back on & hopefully her feet/legs will improve as well there should be no reason she shouldn't be able to enjoy all that lovely space you have. Good on you for giving this poor girl a go at a happy, healthy life :)
  16. I improved Sonny's back end strength & movement very slowly with swimming to warm up & 10 min treadmill sessions with the mill programmed on a steady walking pass with medium to med/high incline :)
  17. That's just so very & tragic & sad for the lovely young couple & everyone concerned. I remember hearing about this on the local news I hope their lovely looking, very well cared for dogs find a loving home together.
  18. Hankdog, Jake is doing so well & it is not just a 'one off' he is routinely offering this positive behaviour which is great work Another Champagne for you & I'll join you  Stella does that nudge thing with her nose against my leg a lot. Especially if she knows she has done well she will nudge me & sit looking at me, where's my treat? Or if we are walking along & approaching a intersection where there are 2 ways we have taken previously & she isn't sure which one we will take today she will nudge me & look up like, which way now? Funny girl. We just came back from 2 hour bush walk & my girl didn't put a foot wrong again I am taking her out on her own for half an hour this arvo just trying to get her more confident about being on her own. Not really doing very much with her, just having a look about & a few simple exercises in obedience with distractions.Mostly just practising remaining calm & relaxed. This seems to be helping her with her stress levels & reactivity. I also feel this time together without Sonny is helping me gain confidence handling her as well. I can see she relishes the 'one on one' attention too. Hopefully she will go as well as she did this morning Corvus Good on you with that great progress with both your boys. Great work
  19. Yirks megan !!! I will be very careful with it then & if I am unsure of it's safety or have any doubts it will be straight in the bin. Not worth the risk. Thanks for the heads up.
  20. Oh dear Thoughts & sympathies are with John at this very difficult time.... That beautiful photo of him with his beloved Schoep in the water will be etched in my memory forever. R.I.P. Dear Schoep Run, pain free forever now lovely boy. You will be so sadly missed
  21. Great shots everybody :) TLC lovely pics as always. Little miss has cracked herself up again  They all look very happy on the lounge chair with dad :) Hankdog, Jake in the first pic shoots you a look like, "you have got to be kidding right" Gertrude, Latte is a lovely boy. Hope he finds a good home very soon
  22. Hankdog, They might be alright for Stella. She is good with treats but I also like to vary my treats as well. She is a good doer as far as her food goes though & so the low calorie goodies are always am advantage as the meds she is on make her constantly hungry. She adores peanut butter as well so I buy the less fat one from woolies. I smear alittle in her kong for a treat of a night. Megan, Geez I just read your post. For this horrible thing to happen regarding these lick stick things you would have to leave them unattended with it I would imagine wouldn't you. I am only intending to use it as a bait for training. As I am understanding it is like a roll on deodorant & I have dropped one of those & the ball has come flying out so I can understand how this terrible thing could happen if left with a very inquisitive dog unsupervised
