Exercising Reactive Dogs Thread
BC Crazy replied to megan_'s topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I totally understand no matter what breed there are no guarantees you wont get a reactive pup.I researched both of mine extensively before purchasing them. Lets just say I nailed one of them. Sonny is to die for in every way. An absolutely delightful boy I too was thinking Lappie, Jap Spritz or a Havanese if I go really little, when I'm too old for another BC. I'm on no.5 atm  I'll always own a fluffy pup cause I love grooming, nuts I know Hankdog isn't Jake a stubborn bugger  Who would of thought with such a cute face. He cracks me up with his antics. He's a real smarty pants. Doubt whether I would find him so amusing if I were trying to train him though. I wouldn't be laughing then  Megan, off leash dogs in wetlands ??? Some people are just so irresponsible with their dogs it drives me nuts I try so hard never to allow mine to annoy anybody or anything living. I wish others could do the same as it would make our lives a hell of a lot easier. -
Same Aussie 3 I also think it does as well a bit.

I too would like to see those out of interest if not too much trouble :)

Exercising Reactive Dogs Thread
BC Crazy replied to megan_'s topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Sorry you had such a bad morning megan ..... I will always have a dog or dogs in my life but not sure I want another reactive one. They can & do push every button. And can be just so exhausting emotionally & physically at times. Also can reduce you to tears more often than I care to remember. Not sure I want to be pushed as far so often with my next dog. Don't get me wrong I adore Stella to bits & I know she can't help her chemical imbalanced make up. She tries so very hard to keep a lid on her reactivity but it just gets the better of her at times. She is just a lot of dog. I just always try & remind myself that for some reason our paths have crossed. Maybe to improve my handling skills. Who knows. -
Luvsdogs, That GSD breeder certainly did you a favour introducing you to Border Collies :p . And I'm very bias. Yes what your saying makes perfect sense LD. I am another Rin Tin Tin lover as well. This whole roached back thing is unsightly in my personal opinion as well & it is just really sad because the 'old school' GSD's are such a majestic & regal looking dog. You just don't see many that haven't been genetically tampered with of late.

No news yet on our not so little whip ?

Oh WOW !! germanshep fan.... Your sheps are just beautiful Just when I thought I'd never see a GSD with a lovely straight top line again. Awesome dogs. I just had a quick look on the GSD puppies for sale on this site out of interest. Geez, I couldn't look for long. As you are saying their backs so resemble bananas even what look like 10 week old puppies, their stance is so exaggerated I couldn't look at them any more And when the handlers are stacking them they seem to be dragging their hind legs out from under them even further to extenuate it even more I am no breed expert as I have said but it just looks b awful IMHO.
-
I don't know a great deal about GSD's but I have noticed over the last probably 10 years or so their top line is so not straight it really has concerned me. There is a gorgeous big GSD boy that lives at the end of our street, I have known him since a puppy & honestly his top line is so exaggerated & he is so down in his hind quarters that his movement is quite inhibited by it & he does wobble about when he runs I know he is of German bloodlines & by all accounts very well breed. So it really surprises me that they are deliberately breeding them this way to keep within breed standards. So sad if that is so.

Wow these are really neat - what a great idea. I haven't seen those either... Terrific idea. They would probably be expensive but very effective I have never had an issue with a fence jumper thankfully. Mine don't even go outside if the gate is left open of their own accord. Would be very frustrating for an owner & potentially could be dangerous deadly for the dog too if not stopped.

Yes, both of these horrific cases mentioned on this thread just make me ill to me stomach. And these are just 2 cases that we have heard of. God knows how often poor animals suffer such unimaginable pain & violence at the hands of an out of control, crazied human. I perish the thought Just to update anyone interested. Police have in custody a 28 year old male who is charged with animal cruelty causing death for killing the 3 month old Staffy puppy & breaching an AVO amongst other offences this afternoon in our local area hiding in the bush. Hope the OP has the same luck & the police apprehend the b@st@r# who killed their beloved family member.

What kind of person does this? He is a huge danger to society and will probably get off lightly due to 'having a tough childhood' like so many of the degenerate losers seem to these days Oh yes, so true Remarkabull. Real get the violin out stuff, isn't it? ... "Oh my parents divorced when I was young. My dad used to beat me, rah rah rah...It is just such a copout 99% of the time for truly unspeakable/psychopathic behaviour.

I just heard this morning on our local news that the police are still on the hunt for the man who slaughtered his girl friends 3 month old staff puppy after a domestic dispute is still at large & apparently was last seen this morning driving around with the severed head of the puppy in his car Police warned if seen not to approach as he is armed & dangerous.... Am at a loss for words....

I love Sammies ..... Happy Birthday beautiful Fluff :)

Holy Shite !! Poor little puppy :( What is wrong with people. How could anyone do this type of barbaric act to a defenseless animal. Sympathies to all concerned

Oh Kivi is so handsome Corvus Funny how they bring things over to you. Stella always has to grab 'Pete' her sucky pelican toy in a frantic rush then runs madly up to me, her whole body shakes as well as her tail while saying 'hi' she squeals her head off & you get this slobbery wet pelican stuffed in your face... That same greeting you get whether you have gone into another room or been out shopping for 1 hour. Hilarious she is & it is just so lovely especially first thing in the morning. She is just so loving & excited to see me. Warms my heart really. Sonny is much more in control with his 'hello's'. He just loves to kiss you & while he does wag his tail he doesn't almost turn himself inside out in the process nor is he as vocal as Stella. All he wants to do is have a game of anything with me. He adores really big pats & for me to tell him how handsome he is  Samoyeman, that is such a beautiful clip. Real lump in the throat stuff. I watched it twice as I couldn't see it properly through the water works the first time. Just wonderful !! :)

Hilarious Gotta watch those Pitbulls you know, just so aggressive & mean

A Few Beach Shots From Sunny Central Coast.
BC Crazy replied to pesh's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
I lived there for 25+ years pesh almost 20 years ago. Way back then it was so quiet & peaceful. I go down there now only when I have to as it is just so busy.Like a mini Sydney now. Does my head in all the traffic/people. I thought the Sth coast would be quiet pesh as I have often thought it may suit us better down there. Sounds like I may be wrong... -
Oh what a very sweet story that is mup. I thoroughly enjoyed it & thanks for sharing. He sure is one very lucky puppy to be found & looked after so well. Now a lovely addition to a loving family

Lovely shots pesh I lived on the Central Coast for quite a number of years till it got too busy for me. It is still a very pretty place as you have so beautifully shown us :) -
OMG !!! What an horrendous thing to happen to your poor pooch & for your family to have to deal with There are some evil people in this world. You have my sympathies. I don't know how I would react in this situation. I'd say they have to sedate me & put me in a padded room. I really don't have any advice as such for you. You have called the police. Call them again & make more 'noise'. Maybe I would contact the RSPCA. Surely someone may have seen something/someone lurking around ??? Good luck with your hunt to find the sicko that was depraved enough to do such a thing.

So sorry for your loss RIP Stitch, run free boy

So sorry to hear of the heartbreak you have had to deal with this year Losing one baby is hard enough to deal with let alone two. RIP Solo... Run free now with Cara
