11 Week Old Boxer Puppy Admitted To Hospital
BC Crazy replied to Boxbright's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I haven't heard of anything like this but I hope she is going to be OK. Poor little girl Good luck at the Vets with her -
She sounds like she is settling in Perry's mum. It will just take a bit of time. All strange & new surroundings. As far as her food goes, she may be just a picky eater. I rescued a boy once & had him almost 15 years. I swear I don't know how he kept going on the amount of food he ate. He was so fussy & when he did eat it was about a handful of food. That's it all day. I would try to give him more but he wouldn't touch it. He was never under weight. Always spot on 20 kg. A very healthy boy too. I used to worry but he never changed his eating habits in all the years I had him. They are all different aren't they? Just wanted to also say good on you for taking on this old girl It is always very worrying at first especially with 2 bitches. I have only one bitch & she is a handful  As others have said don't feed them together. Apart & out of sight of each other & pick up the bowls straight away. Even their meaty bones etc pick them up too asap. I've seen some horrendous fights over an empty feed bowl or an old bone. Also feed Perry first. Do everything with her first eg put her lead on, brush her whatever. She must come first, then Friskie. Keep to a routine. As staffyluv said also walking together I have found that really helped sort out the hierarchy as well. It really helped my girl fit in with Sonny. Good luck. Will be following this thread with interest :)

TK, Luka did very well at the Vet. She could give Stella a lesson or 2 as well. As for the walk afterwards. A 'free' dog & no owner in sight is my worst nightmare. I'm ALWAYS on the lookout & never totally relax on a walk because of this very reason. Stella reacts the exact same way as your Luka & carries on a treat. Screaming like a banshee. Especially if they ambush her. She just looses it. Good luck with your visit with Steve Courtney. Keep us posted :) -
Happy Birthday Takoda!!!! She is just stunning K9 Angel. I have never seen such a lovely spread for a pooches birthday. Just an awesome effort Lovely little boys too. You must be a very proud mum & rightly so.

Hankdog, we should get Jake to show Stella how to behave at the Vets. That is really good he behaves so well Stella is a nightmare. She wasn't like this as a puppy but now she is a real challange to even get her through the front door. She just shuts down. We can't even wait in the waiting room. She tries to go straight through the window to get out. It is a 2 person job. She is just too strong for me to hold her. Now we just wait in the car till Vet is ready to see her, he will give us a call & OH carries Stella straight into the Vets room. She is always muzzled as she has bitten him previously on the face Stella hates the slippery table so OH holds her quite firmly on the floor until the Vet is finished checking her. Lucky she hasn't needed to have her mouth/teeth checked as yet as he would have to sedate her. I have tried to get her used to it. Taken her there on quiet days etc. She wouldn't even get out of the car. So we have just sat in the car park, having treats & watched other but it hasn't helped her at all. -
Hope you can get food brought in for you as I did MUP. Enjoy the pain meds & rest easy for a fast recovery :) T... not parvo 'giggle' .

Awwww... Sumo is getting more gorgeous by the minute if that's possible. The look on Mooses face is like, "I have got a lot to put up with having Sumo around you know" Sigh...

Hankdog, Jake's done very well for his first time sounds like a great plan you have for Jake & very much what I have in mind for Stella. I will have to take it very slowly though too as she barks & carries on at approaching dogs at times. Well they are back next door with their jack hammers again today, been at it since 7am this morning. We have been at the beach all morning & am happy to report Stella is coping a lot better than yesterday with all the noise etc The whole ground is shruddering at times as well which is pretty scary. I have her Thunder shirt on but haven't had to give her extra meds as yet. Very proud of my girl all things considered atm :) -

Oh god that would of been very funny raineth, NOT!! Maybe in reflection but not at the time I reckon. Geez, I could just imagine me in that situation with my 2. They would both be trying to herd it with me on the other end of the leash  Hope you got on OK & didn't get hurt. I am having the day from hell with my girl today as they have been jack hammering next door since 7 am this morning Stella is beside herself. So we have been out all morning & just come home. Thunder shirt, meds. Inside with a meaty bone atm -

Congrats RMR on your score of 92. I don't know what that means either really but it sounds very impressive  Totally understand your nerves etc I would be exactly the same I just know it. I remember getting called out in front of the whole class at Sonny's puppy school to show the others all how to get their puppies going from a sit to a down stay & my legs went to jelly then  I'd be hopeless. Looking forward to the pic's. -
Good luck for tomorrow. Hope they both get along swimmingly. BBF's :)
