  1. My girl just loves being groomed or fiddled with, poked or fussed over, NOT. She hates it with a passion & the "looks" I get whilst trying to do anything to her is like, " ARE YOU DONE YET" so I try & be as quick as I can be. So this ear thing is going to be interesting. LOL.
  2. Have exactly the same problem here. I have 2 desexed dogs & we put down new Sir Walter Buffalo last spring, Hmmm not much left now as it has brown patches all over what is left of it Have tried pretty much everything. Dog rocks, apple cidar vingear in their drinking water & water the lawn after they have  nothing worked. So sorry I am no help to you at all but can sympathize with your issues although we don't have much smell which is a bonus I guess. Will be watching this post with keen interest though. Someone might have a solution
  3. Oh O.K. I have ran a really fine comb through that area but didn't do much. I thought I would hurt her if I just plucked it out but I will try it, thanks ness Glad to hear kenz is going o.k. & yes totally agree that when she is able to do 'little bits' it will be hard to control her as like most BC's its go,go go. Not just at a leisurely pace either. Good luck with that ness
  4. Ness. Probably a dumb question but when you say a thin comb what exactly do you mean? & also is it hard to use a stripping knife, I have never used one before? what knife do you have? Hope Kenzie is doing O.K. & not going completely crazy with all the crate time. I often wonder how she is :)
  5. I use both cowanbree. I pin brush first, then I use my Les pooch slicker which I love. Then I use a metal comb to get any loose hair off It is I just can't seem to find a descent slicker brush but the PP ones are getting a good wrap so I might have to give them a go. thanks cb :)
  6. Well that is suprising Ness & Tassie. So very glad I asked the question. I thought if I paid the extra for a 'decent' pin brush these issues would happen. As we all know there is a huge $$ difference between the 2 items. CC pin that I was looking at was around $90 as opposed to $20 for PP. ATM I have an All Systems I think it is called, only had it 3 months. Everyday I groom my 2, pins are flying out of it & the pins always sink into the cushion. So I have to stop all the time & pull them out. I paid $50 for it too. Not Happy I'm like you ness I really look after all my things. I keep every spotlessly clean as well. Bordering on anal  I have used CC shampoo & loved it so thought their brushes might be worth a try. PP are sounding the go atm though & the price is good, Aussie made as well another bonus. Try to buy Aussie made when possible. Was thinking I might need to buy a stripping knife too cause Stella has got some reddish/gold old coat behind her ears that I want to get out is I can but aren't sure how. Am I on the right track & if so which knife do I buy? I've been looking at them online & their are lots of different ones Or do I use another method to get out this little bit of unsightly coat.
  7. Mine are roughly 22 months apart in age & get on really well together. Maybe a little too well as I am currently trying to pry Stella, my youngest away from Sonny's side. she just adores him to the point of pretty much Velcro'd to him most of the time. My Sonny has the temp of an angle though & the patience of a saint thankfully  I suppose it would be a lot worse if they were at each others throats though. Not sure how I would cope with that. Sounds like I can hear the pitter / patter of tiny paws heading your way PME, you lucky girl. So more info please  & pic's too please.
  8. Thanks for reply to my post Belinda. Have to look at those PP pins, they certainly are very reasonably priced. I love & use some of their products. Anybody else's views please. :)
  9. My girl has real problem with Boxers. She is a reactive at the best of times but if we have a Boxer approaching all hell breaks loose. I am not sure if it is their upright stance or growling kind of noise they make. They tend to be very bouncy too. Maybe a mix of all the above. 99% of them have had great temps. Just think that she miss reads their stance etc as dominant behaviour.
  10. Ha ha LOL. Great question Spotted devil
  11. Hi everyone, Sorry if this topic has been done to death I couldn't find any info regarding it. I am in the market for a new 27mm oval pin brush & had my eye on a CC Groom Grip with brass pins. Was wondering what all you folk's have found best for your double coated breed as far as pins go. Having tried several others at around half the $$ of CC ones I am getting sick of the pins falling out, rusting & sinking into the cushion all the time. Thought if I pay the extra this hopefully wont happen So if anyone has tried this brush or is using one & are wrapped with it on their double coated breed, I would really appreciate your recommendations regarding what brand & type work for you. in advance.
  12. Oh frodo's mum that is good news & great idea to contact them directly. Sounds like they were more than happy to answer your questions which is always a good thing. I don't doubt this food is the best dry food for my 2 I have tried thus far but must admit I was starting to worrying with all this recall stuff. Good news & thank you so much for keeping us updated on TOTW. My guys also thank you cause they love it :)
  13. My 2 eat everything just about. Every fruit except passionfruit. All veg except brussels & cabbage which is probably a good thing. Toxic gas I would imagine & my girl doesn't need any help in that area LOL
  14. Parents should be slapped if they've never taught their kids not to torment animals, yes! I don't see how tormenting animals is "normal child behaviour".It certainly wasn't on my list of fun things to do as a kid. Same here !! Totally agree with you. Pat them yes, torment them no.
  15. Awesome willow. That last one, touching hands, so gentle & just lovely. Oh & lets not forget the cute bunny in the background :)
  16. I used to feed BH & thought my 2 were doing well on it but Sonny is now grain intolerant, so we have to go grain free. They both look radiant on TOTW & they loved it but I am worried with all this recent recall stuff so its EB coastal catch atm & see how we go. If there condition changes then we will look for something new again.
  17. Boxer 05. I have brought some EB Coastal Catch & so far so good. They haven't noticed any difference & I swapped them straight over fromTOTW after all the recall stuff. Time will tell :)
  18. That's so cute! She'll be sad when her pelican needs replacing LOL Thank's sjp118. She certainly keeps us on our toes around with her antics. Stella is a very affectionate girl so she doesn't hold back when she greets either. Usually end up with pelican right in your face I bet I am the only dog owner in the world who has 8 fluffy toy pelicans in their laundry I like to give her a clean one each day cause they get so dirty & soggy. She wears out the tail part eventually as well cause that is the part she sucks on, she puts her front feet on its head & always lies like a turtle sucking away. Oh yes & poor "pete" the pelican doubles as a pillow when she falls asleep in the garden of an arvo. A pelican would have to be better than a smelly lamb bone....Henry brought me in one once when I was sick. He dropped it on the carpet and then decided the lounge would be a good place to suck on it. I was not impressed....neither was he when I took his bone and threw it back outside  Good on you Henry errrr. I don't know what's worse "Pete" is not too good when he is covered in dirt & saturated with slobber  It's funny cause it's only the pelican that she sucks on. All of her other toys are "safe"
  19. RubyStar, That's hilarious & Stella has done the exact same thing to me so I can sympathize with you. Stel thought she it was such a wonderful thing to do for me, she was wrapped I thought it was a stick or a piece of bark at first. So glad I didn't pick it up with my hands, OH got up & out the light on cause we were watching TV, so glad he did YUK !!
  20. Awww juice. Lovely pic's. What a shame he wasn't around longer. You son will never forget him. RIP Mason
  21. No, but in exchange for no irridation go look up the AQIS heating requirements for the food. Its scary, not many biologcal compounds can survive those temps. Australian made all the way here! Is the analysis provided on the product incorrect then? Just wondering... I would love to feed an Australian made food but there is not one - kibble that is - that matches the quality of these others for what I want i.e. fish based, grain free, low fillers, moderate protein levels etc . I am happy to be advised to the contrary. I don't think Black Hawk makes anything other than lamb based does it? :D I would buy Aussie made in a second but to my knowledge there isn't a grain-free dry dog food made here.
  22. Not so sure either It is a bit scary really. My 2 just go really well on it. Darn annoying isn't it.
