  1. Just lovely Kirislin. I love that photo either way. Beautiful anniek. Lets have some more please guys :)
  2. Very true F11, totally agree. Good for you speaking up in front of the mother, I would of done the exact same thing. :)
  3. Sorry to hear about your awful predicament Lolafolata That is just tragic. Cause by evil teenagers by all accounts Just soooo unfair for poor Arnie. I am NOT a child hater & if I was it would be totally irrelevant to the problem being discussed here. If this problem is NOT nipped in the bud now & these kids keep stirring up poor Ziggy it could lead to irreparable damage. Not saying Ziggy would do this. As much as I hate to say it always seems that the dog ends up being blamed or damaged in some way cause he has retaliate to being teased. As someone else said it could be a child's finger next or their whole hand for that matter. At 7 years of age they should know that it is not the right thing to do to an animal. It is a parent's duty to teach their kids this. Just cause the kids are in the backyard doesn't mean that they don't need supervision. My 4 year old niece will tell me how I should handle "Lola" her new Havanese pup, "you must support her back legs when you pick her up" she tells me. Apparently I was doing a pretty good job though  So hopefully these parents will pull their kids into line & keep them away from the boundary fence so Ziggy can get peace.
  4. Yes please post the link. I thought it was just in the states. Doesn't sound good.
  5. For anyone that is not aware of my Miss Stella & her "sucky toy" fettish. Stel carries a big fluffy pelican "Pete" around in her mouth all the times, when she is at home & when she gets tired or gets nervey as she is a very reactive girl she will lay down & suck on it, for hours on end if need be & has done from day one. Needless to say whenever she greets you she has a saliva soaked, honking pelican hanging out of her mouth too. She does seem to be the "talk of the place" when we go caravaning which we often do, especially with children, which she just loves. Guess there are not many dogs that run round greeting you honking on her soggy toy pelican Any wonder I love her to bits :)
  6. Totally agree with you redangel. I think it is very important if at all possible to have a dog when growing up. Something to be responsible for & to love. Also is very character building as you say. I think too dog ownership can help them to learn that life is not "all about them". Owning a dog is so wonderful. I have very seldom been without one in my life, ever since a small child we have always had a dog & they just have this way of adding "warmth" to your life imo. Beautiful pic's everyone. Kirislin, your's made my heart melt.
  7. Yes I've been wondering the same thing. I currently use Missing Link & find it O.K. but am always looking for something that may be better. Have read a bit about K9 Showstopper & it sounds great & well worth a go.
  8. So pleased to hear that fabulous news Agree with HDW though re the emergency vet though You might be able to sleep a bit easier tonight. Very happy
  9. I had to have my 14.5 year old rescue "heart dog" PTS as his Larricks had collapsed & he was slowly suffocating. A similar thing I think To this day I can still hear the terrible sound he used to make trying to get Just one breath It's a very, very cruel thing. I did get "Red" operated on & he recovered really well until 6 months when he went down hill very quickly. He was suffering too much. Had to carry him to the toilet e.t.c No quality of life. Saddest day of mine I gave him his wings cause he deserved to go with dignity. Such a sad thing & a horrible way to go. Such an awful thing to witness. Sorry I am no help apart from sympathy. I totally understand how horrible it is to witness your dearest & best friend struggle to breathe. I know I will never forget it
  10. Same with us Frodo's mum. It's suits both of mine & they love it. added bonus !! The old saying " the proof is in the pudding" never a truer word said thus far. When I learn how to post pic's I will see if everyone else agrees. This new fangle technology does my head in every time
  11. What a difference. WOW, the before & after shots are just amazing, the transformation this little fellow has made. Well done to everyone involved. Look what sheer devotion & dedication can do.Even the little blokes bent legs have pretty much corrected themselves. I'm sure he will be snaveled up very quickly with those looks & great temp. Good on you Chance. Just wonderful work guys
  12. OMG !!! Those poor pup's. All I can see is bones Lucky they still have skin ( whats left of their coats) cause it looks to be all that is holding them together. Horrific sight. I think you only just made it in time. Honestly, I don't know how they have the strength to stand up. They are about to blossom with lots of love & TLC. Like they deserve. Thank you Indigirl :)
  13. Yeah, all that is a bit much. Blah, Blah, Blah. That"s not what made me give it a go. The grain-free factor was cause my boy is allergic to grain. He has never looked or felt better IMO. He has the shiniest coat & is full of beans
  14. OMG !!!! Their coats are amazing Frodo's mum. Just a picture. Yeah, look I think I am going to stay with TOTW . I am loving what I see. Beautiful.
  15. Looks like we should give the lamb one a try then. Sonny didn't like Royal Canin much, I mean he ate it but not like he's enjoy TOTW :)
  16. Thanks Clyde. Just thought I would like to trail Holistic Select anchovie & if it works for my guys I could use it as a good back up or change if need be. Thanks again :)
  17. Oh bugger ! Just our luck. Down size the bag & up the price. I really like Earthborn Holistic as I do TOTW & am thinking we will be going between the 2. They seem to suit us the best for taste & excellent results.
  18. Happy Birthday Coco. Big No. 1 May there be many more. Enjoy your big day :)
  19. Yes, mine are looking really good & their coats are both so shiny, they are gleaming. Even if I do say so myself  & the variety is good. Mine like the Salmon one the best so far but there are two we haven't tried & my boy is Mr. fussy pants so that is another plus. We have tried lots of different dry food too. Aussie ones & others & this is by far what they have done best on. There are lots they just didn't like. The factory where TOTW is made in Diamond Pet Foods Sth Carolina is the one in strife & that is not the one where we get ours from. Ours is imported from their other plant in California, so it is two totally different factories. Diamond Pet foods have been in trouble for contamination at the very same plant which does concern me. I am a worry wart though. :) Love you Frenchies by the way, they are a cute as. Especially the littley's. You take such great pic's as well. I'm jealous, only wish I was half as good
  20. For sure FM totally. You just worry still. Must admit my guys are going so well TOTW & the different flavours make for a nice change for them. Hmm difficult call really.
  21.  Toasted
  22. Clyde, Sorry to take this post off topic slightly Just wanted to ask you if I remember correctly you also feed Holistic Select Anchovie as well. How did you find that went as I am thinking of trying it with my 2 as my boy is grain intolerant. I have them going really well on TOTW Salmon variety but with the recall of it ( even though I have been told we aren't effected here ) thought I might try something else. Would never forgive myself if something unfortunate happened. Thanks :) You have a strange P.O. LOL
  23. Yes, I have had that exact thought lurking in the back of mind I must admit dancinbcs so as well as my 2 are doing on TOTW & they just love it, I am now trailing a couple of other brands. So annoying when you think you have finally found the "right" dry food for your guys. Does my head in I would go as far to say that my 2 look at least 75% better than they used to & their coats are just glowing but I'm just not willing to run the risk of something happening to them because of what I have chosen to feed them. It's hard to find an Holistic Grain-free Dry Food . I am going to try Holistic Select Anchovie next & am ATM trailing Earthborn Holistic Coastal Catch which they love & are doing well on also :)
  24. Thanks Dancinbcs. There was a thread last week regarding this as I feed my 2 TOTW I called my on line provider, Natural Pet Store who have great customer service & they got back to me very quickly & assured me that the recall effects the Diamond Pet Foods Sth Carolina & all Canidae & TOTW dog food for the Australian market is manufactured in their California factory, therefore unaffected. Must admit I panicked at first but it's all good I believe :)
