http://www.greenhounds.com.au/what-is-a-greenhound.html This is how it works in NSW. The two assesors I know that people have taken their greys to (one here at Avoca and one in Sydney) only keep the dog for 2 hours to assess. Minimax many people just ignore the law and don't muzzle their dogs because "they" think greyhounds shouldn't be muzzled, I see it a lot around here. For me to get both of my greys greencollared it would cost me $300 to $400 depending on what the assesor charges. I don't take mine to offlead dog parks as personally I don't like them but any grey even with a green collar( which must be worn in public at all times) is still required to wear a muzzle offlead.

That looks fantastic They certainly have a good crowd turn up, great photos :)

I knew this had T written all over it before I even scrolled down :) What a gorgeous bunch of bubbas Nina, they look like liqorice allsorts :) -
Stan has too many too list but one I do find odd is his phobia of poo. When out walking any dog I know likes to take a whiff of a stray poo but not Stan, he'll do anything to avoid it even if he has to jump over it. When he does a poo in the backyard he comes thundering up the back stairs as fast as he can, I'm sure he thinks it's chasing him  Maddie does a thousand circles in bed with the occasional dig in between before she finally lies down. Wouldn't be a problem but she sleeps with me and it's bloody annoying in the middle of the night. I have to be careful not to say anything like "Maddie...just lay down" because she stops and looks at me for a moment and then starts the whole process again! It's like I've made her lose count

Things That My Dogs Do To Cheer Me Up... Or Not
HazyWal replied to W Sibs's topic in General Dog Discussion
I get the exact same reaction....when I get back from the letterbox  -
Only the two greyhounds here. I would love another but as my two sleep with me I have limited space in bed as it is :)

DD this old house is bloody freezing in winter. Just google Mawsons Hut, there'll be a yellow getz parked out the front. Ons is a DOLer that has met Stan IRL :) We met up with her and the gorgeous Flash and Mocha for a coffee when she was down here on hols. Stan was that excited to meet his new friends that he passed out under the table  Don't forget to call next time you are down this way Ons T anytime you're up the Central Coast give us a call, Stans cuddles are his specialty :) BC Crazy I have friends at Hawks Nest that we visit regularly which I think is up your way. Might catch up one day :) Thank you all for your kind words about my boy. He is one out of the box for sure and my Miss Maddie is my gorgeous little shadow. I am very blessed indeed :)

And he rocks out the flanno as well - just like a real man. All he needs now is a stubbie and perhaps a pair of footy shorts I know!! He looks like "Robbo the Yobbo" in that pic  T he does do zoomies but they don't last long. Mainly because Maddie is usually hiding behind the one bottlebrush tree I have in the backyard waiting to ambush him. I was just watching them in the backyard, Stan was right up the back doing a poo, Maddie was in ambush position, her little beady eyes watching, watching and then Stan starts nonchalontly trotting up the fence line, nervously glancing over at the tree then POW!! Out come the white flash and he starts running, oh no the back stairs are too far away, so he runs under the deck and around they go. After two I just yell out who wants cheese(the magic word)Maddie props and Stan's like a rat up a drainpipe up the back stairs. He's passed out on the lounge now and that'll be it until tomorrow :)

Dog Jumper Workshops (from Old Tracksuits)
HazyWal replied to Panto's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
I remember that thread but can't remember who the poster was either, just remember what a fabulous idea it was. I am currently collecting blankets and sheets from my local op-shop which I hope to send out to the country pounds like Broken Hill and West Wyalong. Don't know how I'll get them there but I'll worry about that later BUT I'll definately ask them for trackie pants as well. Well done Panto, the poundies will be grateful -
It definately looks browner and maybe the white spot being larger is the blood decreasing as it's healing.

The books that say chewing/gnawing bones keep dogs' teeth sparkling :p Clearly she hasn't and I'd love her to learn to brush her own teeth, that chicken flavoured toothpaste makes ME want to gag  Yes! it is completely revolting! I wish I had never bought it I should clarify after reading my post again that the "smell" of the chicken toothpaste makes me gag. I'm not actually using it myself when the colgate runs out  Boronia are you having any success with the brushing? I'm hopeless and it's not Maddie's fault she's great, she just sits there and lets you do anything but I struggle getting the ones up the back.

A cross dresser my Stanley is all man...well except for his missing boy bits. To prove his manliness here he is watching the footy with me last season complete with South Sydney beanie. As you can see Maddie's not a fan

Thank you - I was pretty thrilled with that one actually. I hadn't seen a copy until Zig's breeder spotted it in the paper (if you'll pardon the pun!) Mr TSD nearly fell off his chair at work when he later saw it in the Green Guide  I do think they are lovely looking dogs - can't take any credit for that though...both bred by LONG time breeders. That's a pretty fine compliment coming from the mum of DOL's favourite dog I don't think Stan can claim that title, he's a newbie :) The breeder can cetainly take credit for their looks for sure but you must take the credit for how well trained they are. Putting in all the work( which you all obviously enjoy)is something you've worked hard at. I have followed your threads with Zig and Em, watched videos and really been in awe at your beautiful intelligent dogs and I mean that most sincerely. BTW I haven't been stalking you, I don't usually make comment as Stan and I don't know much about obedience...obviously

and is one of those who haven't read the books :p sorry what books?

That doesn't always work. Mine get meaty bones, Stan's are fine Maddie's are terrible and require a full dental once a year. Doesn't help she only eats on one side
-
Oh bummer! Ok here is a recent one wishing a dear friend happy birthday. I love his teefies in this one :D

What a fantastic photo Both of your dogs are gorgeous!

Oooo do you have a photo you can post of Josh and Zig on his own? Would love to see it.

http://www.petdirectory.com.au/?page=Manufacture-Wholesaler-of-Quality-Natural-Pet-Food-and-Treats-NSW Juice this is where I get my roo mince and they deliver to Sydney. You can order 10 kilos but they come in 1kg frozen blocks or you can order 5 kilo of fresh. I don't know what his delivery charges are as I pick up so may be too expensive but just send Ben an email and get a price sheet. His roo mince is very lean.

I cant remember where I got mine, have had it for about 20yrs. Ive done a quick search though and Sway sells them here: http://www.whelpingsupplies.com.au/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=88 (only $8, free postage!) I don't put anything on before or after. Dont make it stressful for the dog, just scale a couple of teeth a night until they get used to it. If you have cats it is fab for them too. Thanks for the link Clyde I just ordered one

This one isn't really recent but it's one of my faves. I came home from shopping to find Stan wearing my PJ top which was hanging over the end of the bed. While I was out he must have decided to drag himself out of bed and slip into something comfortable
