To me the pup looks like some G R x Toy Poodles that i've seen.I hope you get some answers soon.

On my local council site about dog control it states; '' A person in charge of a dog must not allow the dog to worry chase or threaten another person or dog."" The onus was on the ''person in charge'' of the dog not to allow the dog to be able to bite someone.

I hope your friend recovers quickly from her injuries.What dreadful people to not stop and offer help.When i walked my large dog i always moved aside for people passing. If they were walking a dog i would hold her collar just in case the other dog was not friendly..She was friendly and would just want to lick them but some people are afraid of dogs and don't want a strange dog trying to sniff or lick them.These people should have moved aside instead of taking up the whole footpath.A child would not know to not just walk past that dog.I hope they are found before anyone else is bitten.

When i was about 14 i was getting a lift home from my friends house .As we went down the drive i saw the man next door in his front yard with a young Boxer who was bounding around while he fussed with a hose.It was a very busy road and i thought how risky for the dog ,he must be well trained to not run on the road.We backed out of the drive and just as we took off the Boxer ran accross the road and under our car.We offered to rush him to the vet but the stupid man just stood there wanting to chat saying ''Oh it's ok i'll take him down later myself.The dogs back legs were broken and he was in shock .I found out later that the dog was PTS.

Yes just crazy.I've seen the same thing with Toddlers too .

Missy ;Don't be distressed.Advise can only be given based on what you have told us;Sounds like you are doing your best to be a good dog owner and thats great.Both dogs sound wonderful.Many years ago i got a pup from a pet store.I have also owned rescue dogs and one from a pound.I don't think pups should be sold in pet shops because it is not a good environment for thier development among other reasons;but it's not the pups fault it's there.There is a wealth of advise on this forum so don't stop asking for advise .

Even the toughest person can fall for the cute puppy in the pet shop window .I saw one recently that i fell for,but fortunately logic prevailed and i didn;t buy it.My first concern would be the OP's first dog. he needs to go to the vet right away.If He is sick,is it something that the pup can catch.Some pet stores will take back a pup within a certain time.It should state on the paperwork.The pup will be quarantined again on it;s own before it can be resold because it has been out of the store and with another dog..I also wonder if the dog is suffering from heat stress due to having a temperature ,being ill..Always ensure dogs have good shelter and shade and cool water that they can't knock over.

Yes you would be liable if anyone in bitten by your dog.As for the wandering children;call the police if you see them out wandering unattended and let the police check out thier Moronic parents .

Call the local papers in the areas and i'm sure they will print an alert to warn others.I detest dog thieves;woe betide them if i ever came accross any.

Perhaps you could see if you are able to sit in at some puppy pre school classes and get to meet these breeds.All pups are cute and it would be easier than meeting adults first up.Anyone can be fearful of the unknown or what they have not experienced.It dosn't help when we are told bad stuff as kids about a breed;it hapened to me too.

I used to be scared of Dobermans;German Shepherds and Rottweilers;However since joining DOL i have been reading about what owners of these breeds say about thier dogs like the funny things they do ,how clever they are, how affectionate ,what activities they do together.I have also looked at heaps of pictures and researched a bit on other sites. I have recently met a Doberman And loved him..I have now come to greatly admire these breeds along with many others,and hope to meet many more of them in the future Why not talk to Bullterrier owners in breeds 101 about all the positives about the breed Look at lots of pictures,maybe get to see a few pups,then see if that helps..

Blackdogs ;Your post should be printed in every local paper in the land.I have lost 2 dogs over the years ,one escaped and one stolen never to be seen again in spite of our best efforts to find them..I share you pain and frustration.

Here in Victoria it's the Ibizan that the yobbos are crossing with everything.

I love big scruffers too.My dear Pippa darling girl was a Wolfhound x Bullterrier .We adopted her from animal aid when she was 10 months old.She was with us for 10 years. I love sighthounds especially wolfhounds. Got side tracked ,Posted to say;There are a couple of Staghound crosses at Animal aid in Coldstream Victoria .
