What about one of those doors they have in restaurant kitchens that swing open in either direction with a soft close mechanism.They can be locked shut when needed.

This is a real shock to me;i always envisaged that people who took their dogs to a groomer looked after their dog.How anyone could let them get to this state. Glad you made the girl stay and watch.All these owners should be made to watch;or better still,put on gloves and help.Have you ever reported a dog that was in a bad way.?Should be a film made and shown on TV.You must be very dedicated to dogs to do this.Hope you charged the owners a lot extra to do this.

What if someone stole a dog then later took it to a pound.If they don;t check for a microchip the the real owners wouldn;t be able get their dog back.The organisation concerned are not acting in the best interest of the dog even if they see they are acting within the law this seems so wrong .

In my case i have allergies and some dogs either sex smell really doggy and set of a reaction.Others i can tolerate.With Dobermans and Vizslas i notice a stonger smell with the males and not much with the females.Shnauzers i'm good with either sex,both have no real odour.So it may be true with ppl who are allergic to dogs or have an acute sense of smell.Intact males overall do smell more to me.

Gun dogs though. I hate to push the schnauzer thing Cosmolo, but I know people that don't even get their standards stripped. They brush maybe every 6 months. The coat is very hard and wirey. They fit every other criteria you have. If you want something bigger the giants fit the bill. The standards are a very healthy breed (they aren't that popular, so less dodgy breeders and people breeding for extremes) and they are very public friendly. I find Mals scarey looking . Wow megan; ,been looking at giant schnauzer pictures,good looking dog too.The silver-grey ones are really stunning.

What about a German Wirehaired pointer.Was just reading about them.Seems they are bolder than the GSP.Good looking dogs,hope to meet some one day.

Yes, Many people think like i used to of scary Dobermans with cropped ears and docked tails.The ones with big floppy ears and a tail look reallly sweet to me.

The corsos look a bit scary to me.I vote for a chesapeake.

Go and speak to the people at the house where the kids and little dogs are.I bet they are fed up too,Band together and report these ppl.If they say anything to you just act surprised and concerned,then deny it was you.How can they prove otherwise,unless the council tells them it was you,but i don;t think they would do that. Why let these yobbo's make life myserable for others;they have no regard for anyone but themselves,stand up for your rights and report them.

Yes; I also like Chesapeakes,Nothing anxious or wimpy about them,They are tough robust and adaptable.Resently saw a video of one and a labrador training as rescue dogs,learning to jump out of a helicopter into icy water.

Thanks everyone.The dogs i have owned over the years have all been from shelters/pound or given/dumped with me;and i did my best with them but some were not really suited to me.This time i want to get the right breed and the right fit so i can really enjoy the dog and ensure the dog is happy too.Buying from a breeder is new for me so i wanted to know what to expect.I guess if i like the parents of the pup then that would be a good indication of what the pup would be like.
