  1. Yes but what information do you need from the buyer about thier situation and how do you know which pup fits what type of home.Does this just come with experience or is there a formula so to speak.Should you leave the decission to the breeder alone or should you trust your own feeling about a particular pup.I am thinking of getting a Pure breed pup next year for the first time,so i am nervous about someone choosing a pup for me.Is this normal or should i just trust a good breeder to find me the right pup.
  2. Hello everyone;I was wondering how breeders choose which pup goes to what new home.Do you always try to match them or do they have to take whatever pup is available? If a pup wasn't suited to a particular home would you recomend the people wait for another pup to be available from another litter.....Thankyou.
  3. Nekhbet;..I understand and share your frustration. tdierikx........My last dog was from the pound and she was the best dog i have ever owned;and my best friend.
  4. I would do one showing the dogs and pups taken from puppy farms or those that have been kept for weeks in a glass box in a pet shop ;like the ones i once encountered at a pet store that had spent 8 weeks like this ,only getting out in a courtyard if a customer wanted to see them.At 15 weeks old one didn't know there were different ground levels out in the world and would keep running of the retaining wall and landing on his head.I would highlight the long term mental and developmental affect on animals raised in confinement. It would cover the rehabilitation needed for them to then cope out in the world.
  5. I did the survey honestly. If it looked like an amstaff x staffy to me thats what i put.If i had no idea i put i don't know. One looked like a Labrador x Golden retriever to me so thats what i put.
  6. I only put pitbull for about 3 or 4.Most looked like amstaffs, staffys, and thier crosses to me.I have always had more trouble telling The difference between a Malamute and a Husky. But i haven;t had much to do with either. So is the survey just to see if ppl can identify Pitbulls or is there more to it as well?
  7. Yes you can register him entire, from what i gather here.Scroll down to fees and information. http://www.latrobe.v...rvices/Animals/
  8. If two males mate a bitch at a similar time, then both can father pups within the same litter. "Dual sire litter." That's nuts - did not know that could happen. And what a tart the bitch would be ;) Yep! It can happen with people too;not unheard of for twins to be born each one with a different father.
  9. You can't be certain the the Amstaff was the father of your pup,or he may have fathered some of the pups in the litter and others had a different father.Did you see all the pups from the litter?Where there any other dogs around on the property?.Like i said earlier he looks near identical to the staffy x red heeler i had years ago;but really with crosses they may not look anything like either parent.
  10. Kidnap your brother and take him to see some dogs needing rescue,he might just take to one, then problem solved.
  11. Here in Victoria many secondary schools have driver education programs. Some schools also attend animal shelters and take part in workshops as part of excursion programs.
  12. Yes i agree with this.Especially Education programs for kids;need the same for adults in the community too.
  13. ,Years ago i had a staffy x red heeler_never again!!_that looked almost identical to your dog.Often amstaffs are crossed with Ridgebacks and staffordshire terriers.I think he may have a pinch of one or both in his background. The 2nd dog looks a bit mastiff mix to me. Learn as i did ,and this is a good place to learn, next time buy from a reputable breeder. He looks like a nice happy dog whatever his mix.
