  1. yep agreed. i got out of it all when they started with the name calling it got a bit violent there for a while. i don't believe you have to reduce yourself to that level that you name call steve's right we lose all credibility when we start doing that stuff much better to arm ourselves with proven facts and experience that way. however, debbie and the others aren't reg breeders so i really had to watch it because i was mixing myself up in that group and like or not i ended up being representative of all reg breeders in the eyes of the public and also to those type of people who are owners of that facebook page so i think it was a good choice to get out and deactivate.
  2. Uumh, the conversation I was reading was between someone called Debbie something or other and the owners (I think) of the place, and it was Debbie who had the potty mouth. So ... did the owners remove similar comments from them and leave hers there? If that's the case, that's not playing fair, it leaves Debbie looking like a total nutjob and them reasonable. I have to say if that's what happened they did a good job of the editing, just leaving enough responses (and her ranting about them not responding) to make it look genuine. I might go back and see if I can find it (if it's still there) and maybe PM it to you. oh okay i knew debbie met her on facebook from that page, she was one of the people i was talking to privately and yes some of the things she says is really bad i know but he was responding to her in the same manner and sometimes worse. but this is going back about 3-4 months ago now im talking about, i didn't seem to see him talking now he's shutup. but yes it would look like she's a nutjob if he has removed his own responses.
  3. oh sorry i thought it said that somewhere in the media, my bad.
  4. eh? what? could it be re-reading that article that BCF is trying to advertise for them to get one of their pups? it hasn't actually happened? somethings going on fishy here. im wondering the same thing, something's not adding up here. its either a rescue or from a puppy farm it can't be both. just goes to show how inaccurate the media can be. ETA: maybe the RSPCA rescued it from that farm and now that farm is boasting how K-Rudd has got one of their dogs? maybe?
  5. just noted looking at the facebook page of BCF that he has indeed removed his comments, smart move eh. however, i have a screen shot of what he actually said to me and others.
  6. That's probably because people don't know where it came from. omg. perhaps he was the one plugging farms. they can say anything they like on their websites and make it look extra good. where are their brains these politicians. this is getting way too ridiculous for words all this. where did it say it was a rescue?
  7. so his comments are all still on there? i will have to get my friend to show me. thats good that they are just proves a point about his mentality.
  8. oh is that right is it, more like they don't want anyone else breeding mutts like them so they can have the monopoly pulling in the big bucks. it is by law they have to desex, it wasn't their decision alone. twist on words i think. we'll have to agree to disagree on that point. but it doesn't matter i don't think she's going to be in for that much longer anyway, my faith in her has been completely lost after all this.
  9. He probably thought the same thing I did if he saw it - Oscar's Law people are completely irrational. Oscar's Law - I'll give it one thing...she had the wiles about her enough to think that dumping Law at the end of a dog's name made stupid people think it was legislation of some type. yeah why is it called a "law" when it isn't a law its just a gimmick for the public to gain attention really. everyone's saying i want oscars law but if they were serious about any of what they say wouldn't they be trying to get it passed as legislation they aren't they're just chanting it like zombies.
  10. Very true. Also just wanted to point out, although Tim is buying this dog as a present for Julia do you not think that she had say in the breed she wanted...? I am sure he asked her opinion and took her advice on what breed she was after. True...and it could have gone something like this... "Oh, I don't know Tim, I like Cavaliers and I've always loved poodles....."
  11. Oh sorry but what a load of crap, td. He's buying her a puppy - end of story. Yeah it's disappointing but you really think the 'rest of the world' even has the Australian PM on Red Alert because her boyfriend buys her a mongrel? It will reflect on the whole nation on a global scale? Come on...get serious. People buy puppies every day of the week. yes but we hear about the US president about his choice and it was a good choice because he wasn't a fool he obviously listened to his advisors he was under immense pressure to make the right choice. these guys in this country just don't give a damn. don't you think this doggy story will also be in the news? i once came across leaders of nations and their choice of dogs, so when it comes to Australia they will list a bloomin' cavoodle. people the whole world over are interested in animals. yes people do buy puppies but those people aren't prime ministers of a country are they and in the spot light. i mean she was the first woman prime minister for Australia dont you think that would have made news overseas? people would be turning their attention on her to some extent i wouldn't mind betting.
  12. i mean i agree with you to a certain extent, but you see, i've asked countless people (in customer service able to do that spread the word type thing and most pepole are astonished and never knew what an ethical purebred breeder does) about where they'd purchase a puppy from? these people aren't all that dog savvy and most say from a registered breeder of a purebred. one of my co-workers did just that, never consider a cross bred mutt she said. also someone did purchase a cav cross poodle from a petshop then found out about puppy farms afterwards so now they are going to get a puppy from a proper breeder, so i directed them here and told them to screen ofcourse. so most know where to go. but why didn't the PM's partner know? is he in a glass cage, doesn't he read the paper or listen to news updates on the tele? oscar law rally was plastered everywhere. you have to wonder. but i spose if you have someone close that has gone to a farm picked up a dog online and its worked out good ofcourse they will be plugging it wont they. my co-worker that got a puppy from a reg breeder came across a bloke who said they can make money off their dog before they got it desexed use it as a stud and earn 15 grand a year, thats what he was doing offering it to people with cross breeds in the paper was advertising. so i eventually got my co-worker to desex the dog and talked about puppy farmers and health tests and eventually turned her my way. there is another co-worker that breeds their dogs for money and was encouraging as well. but now they also have their dog de-sexed no longer breeding for money. it was a breed that is trying to get recognition with ANKC.
  13. i just wish someone would whisper in their ears those two and tell them they are making a decision that will reflect the whole nation and what australians think about puppy farms. it makes us all look that we support this industry to the rest of the world.
  14. the rotten editors of that article or whoever is manning the comments didn't print any of my comments. they are selecting which ones get printed. so julia is being shielded and there is no way to get to her to tell her the real story. her advisors !!!! i can't believe that tim would have done the research himself he would have had help from someone.
  15. thats very interesting, what are they doing different to here? if its already been explained my apologies. do they have puppy farms over there? how many and is it on a large scale i wonder. i know USA euthanise millions of dogs i saw the statistics.
  16. The whole point to their marketing since way back in Don Burkes most active pro DD days is that they dont need to test because each breed has different recessives. While ever there is no mandatory health testing and breeders from all groups dont test its rather a wasted argument .For every commercial breeder you find who doesnt test you can find breeders from any group who dont test . Fact is it works more in their favour than against it as their stance is there is no need - and there isnt for recessives. if we can't get them on care, profit or even now health testing or hidden recessive genes what can we get them on? so what line of defence do we have left? thats BS, ofcourse these people to protect their "livelihood" will throw out any productive argument, health testing we dont' need to do it, recessives no need to test or research for recessive thats BS coming from where i've come from and that is pure HELL and there is alot more people that have come from where i have come from i can tell you. i come from experience with recessives, experimenting with matings, dealing with a heck of alot of bloodlines, with people who tell you something that might not be true. so a group might not test but we all know its an individual thing its not a group thing in the dogworld, spoken to many breeders about their programs and it is an individual thing whether they test and research whether its important about soundness and having happy healthy dogs or is it more important to win in the showring at all costs or to sacrifice health for profit only. my point is, that there is no possible way that these farmers can know the dogs say 3-4-5 gens back, where do they get their dogs from? where do they get their studs from? dodgey brothers ways for sure. and in my experience just because a dog is a reg pedigree they might be able to get their hands on one doesn't mean it has come from the best stock. even knowing like i do 5-6-7 generations back in my pedigrees and viewing dogs and selecting dogs still its not an exact science and this is with knowing the dogs and able to look back on records. these farmers would not know what they are breeding which spells disaster for those poor little dogs and im talking about patoodlematoodstroodles not a cross breed that might be working towards ANKC recognition. what irks me is i've watched these types for years like everyone else and they have tried to be on the same par as a reputable ethical ANKC reg breeder and this PM stuff is giving them more steam. Don Burke would be sitting back laughing his head off at all this at the expense of these poor poor animals being bred by these equally ignorant uninformed so called "breeders". don burke started all this DD crap to get back at a group of purebred dog enthusiasts. all this says to me its just typical of how arrogant some people can be, i mean if Julia thought different about all this wouldn't she be saying i don't want a puppy from that place. no she's not saying a thing, she's getting a cute puppy thats all that matters obviously, her and her partner are thumbing it to the people who work hard to bring thhis to the attention of the public about DD's and puppy farms. arggghhhhhh...i know i am preaching to the already converted but talking about this to like minded people helps me alot but now there is steam coming out my ears!!! this is quite frustrating.
  17. and now they are talking about changing the leader and some other person challenging the leadership in labour AGAIN! that in itself is a big joke. the whole world is watching all this and little Australia and it is quite embarrasing to me anyway and quite a few other people talking amongst many i knew people would look at the Facebook page and yes it is quite out there some of the comments. and some of his comments if he still has them there maybe he's removed his to make himself look good no doubt, he gives it out as much as people are giving it to him. i got on there to spread some common sense about DD's to the public who might look at his page when it was first up, so he turned his attention onto me in amongst all that other garbage on there and threatened to do something to my property and my family. so i de-activated my account and once you do that it deletes your posts and you disappear. a decent person doesn't threaten people simply because they are speaking out politely about what they are doing. i wasn't nasty or rude thats not my style. its not nice what that larry says and if he was a decent person he wouldn't be saying those comments it goes both ways. and i am proudly one of those fanatics too but i wouldnt' say some of what those other people were saying.
  18. and just to add onto what someone said (sorry didn't look back) about emailing ACA for instance here is the link if anyone wants to do that; ACA tell us your story
  19. someone is saying the pictures tell all by animal welfare groups, designed to make it look as bad as they can no doubt, i haven't looked not interested to look, it is a commercial breeding farm that has a licence to breed dogs legally by the government and the shire in which they reside. and this is where i have a problem. i am against dogs being bred like battery hens this way because of the health status issue because i know that they can't possibly test each and every dog that they have in their possession and also each and every bloodline because nothing is down on paper pertainning to bloodlines because they have no pedigrees like we have in ANKC anyway. yes they can make up pedigrees but no research can be conducted like i would do on many generations before. Given the issues that the dog breeds have and it is an uphill battle to breed even pedigree dogs properly (im still not completely there even after 26 years battling it out!!!) they would find it near impossible. even when you test and research you still have diseases and genetic conditions coming through and its a battle to breed sound dogs a joy to own. and they are saying its easy to breed in good temperament, IT IS NOT EASY been there done that a thousand times over. what the farmers have said on that article indicates to me they know zero about dog breeds and zero about the requirements needed.
  20. hmm this is interesting i work in customer service and see a heck of alot of people every day, so just chatting to people about it and most are saying what an embarrassment for our country that she's done this. and this is from people that are not that into dogs.
  21. You'd be hoping in vain. I can think of at least one in our own breed that exports whole litters regularly. I know . I realise that, unfortunately, What I HOPE for & reality are 2 different things. you are not alone in that thought poodlemum.
  22. i wonder when they are going to start printing the comments, i reckon there's going to be some doozies there, can't wait.
  23. i think they are trying to make out it is bad this farm in order to gain attention. but its getting attention from the public but not attention from government as them choosing a puppy farm dog just proves that govt think they ARE a bunch of rednecks that need to be ignored. so whoever researched this for the PM missed this whole thing that stands out like nobody's business everywhere. or maybe her partner saw a couple of designer mutts from a puppy farm and saw how good they were so they have influenced his decision, so i'd say they've been talking to a person who has bought also from a puppy farm. it could even be from that particular farm
  24. OK, that makes sense! I guess one would HOPE that no registered breeder would also be a puppy farmer being registered ANKC doesn't mean they are more ethical really does it even if they show their dogs doesn't mean a thing today. my first puppy now i realise was from a farmer and she eventually got closed down by the local council.
