  1. What a gorgeous dog Bosun is. :) I have no doubt he will heal quickly.
  2. Just reading these posts make me feel sad for the majority who don’t like children. Okay you don’t have to like them, but it is coming across like you really DISLIKE them. I will reiterate patient and tolerance goes a long way in life. I find it sad again to hear a mother say “I'd prefer to not have much to do with them (except my own of course). So how do you handle your kid’s friends when they come around? Or when you drop them off at school and kids are running around doing their own thing? Do they sense you don’t like them? Kids are smart and can pick up on this. Oh well I guess I am in the minority here, love kids, will play with them, chat with them, help them even if are can be annoying sometimes, which kids tend to want to rub you up the wrong because they are just 'little kids'.
  3. It is so nice that his family can go away on holidays and not have to worry about him because he has been left in your care knowing he will be well looked after. My friend used to look after dogs some years ago (not in a position to do this now) she had her regular customers and one off dog sitting - she loved it, she loves dogs fullstop
  4. And adults aren’t innocent either and they should know better when they are being a nuisance to others. Just let kids be kids. I sense the majority in this thread are lacking patience which is sad. Enjoy the photo
  5. It is hard to get a new dog or cat when they have passed; some people feel guilty that they are replacing them with another. You will know when it is the right time to get another dog. In the meantime enjoy your guest :)
  6. You make a good point. I think everyone could learn a little more tolerance. She certainly did make a good point; tolerance goes a long way. I understand if you don't want to have children, individual choice, but not to like them because they are just 'kids'. Kids are our future :)
  7. I could not read all the article as it was horrible. I hope this kid doesn't get off lightly. If he can kill animals and do the things he did to them, what is the chance he will grow up to and kill people? What is the world coming to???
  8. Yep totally agree with - the big pharmaceutical companies trying to make more bucks. Not enough people taking their benzos and anti-depressants, now lets drug our pets.
  9. There seems to have been a number of people around so the freaking council can investigate plus this dog seems to have quite a reputation in the area. The owners are just irresponsible and should not have a dog FULLSTOP. I hope the little boy will be okay.
  10. Beautiful poem. Sorry for your loss Merna RIP Rocky
  11. Atanquin, I would suggest to you to send your story to the Editor to your local newspaper and basically tell them what you wrote on this forum, perhaps you can elaborate further. Find out who the Editor is (get a name) and also send to the generic email address of the paper as another journalist might pick up on the story. In my area we have both the Leader Newspaper and The Melbourne Weekly, so if you have two local papers send to both. Good luck!
  12. Whilst I don’t have any suggestions for any tasty foods, I just want to say how sorry I am to hear about your dog…this must be a great shock for you. Sending you good vibes and saying a little prayer as well.
  13. I don’t think it is necessary to get a tetanus shot; just thoroughly clean the wound to ward off infection.
  14. When I had foxy my german shepherd in the 80's it used to collect socks  On the other hand mum's kelpie 'Lucky' who we got about 6 months after my father passed away, as dad was a bit of a drinker, Lucky loved going under the house and he brought out all dad's empty booze bottles
  15. Hell yeah what is there to consider? Their dog killed their baby. I wouldn't want that dog anywhere near me, if it was mine. RIP little baby
  16. Yeah still working from home.. I think you are right and he will be fine... I was just a bit thrown when he turned up here... I think anyone Zig did not know would have a hard time getting near him anyway as he can be really standoffish if he does not know you... Yeah well I would be thrown if someone followed me home. Just make sure Ziggy is inside when you are not home. I hope it is nothing....
  17. What a beautiful dog. I hope you find her very soon. Well I have a connection with the man upstairs so I will have to add HERA to the list of things that need to be fixed.
  18. No justice - these dogs have done nothing wrong and have responsible owners doing the right thing, and yet like you said pooch a dog in your street attacked other dogs and bitten children - go figure
