  1. Was just about to post that link! It's a weird issue, I'd be changing all variables to narrow down the issue. Does it happen on your PC, or only when uploaded? Does it happen on different computers (can probably say yes to this, as several people here can see it, but then also some cant!)? I hate problems I can't solve lol
  2. My vet suggested it (well, she mentioned it, she didn't say I had to do it,) and just told me it was an option at the time of desexing. I was leaning towards not doing it, and then after investigating and reading here I'm pretty convinced it's not necessary. I'm not a fan of unnecessary injections/chemicals in myself or my pup, especially not in large doses like the injection.
  3. The pic with the red arrow looks like it's pointing to a stick on the ground?
  4. In my searching of the forums, I've found the response to the annual heartworm injection tends to be "don't do it" - but I can't find anyone explaining why not. My pup is going in to be desexed next month and they've suggested the heartworm injection. Is it suggested more for convinence than anything? My pup is flea'd every 2 weeks, so a monthly heartworm tablet (using Interceptor Spectrum at the moment) is just part of the routine and definetly isn't an inconvinence. Are there benefits to the injection vs monthly tablets?
  5. No, not like that  They show up on the photos posted in this thread, but it seems I'm the only one who has them. I just hope nothing is wrong with my camera. If it was your camera, we'd probably all be seeing it. Does it happen on other photos? And if you look on a different monitor? Maybe it's your eyes! My dad always said I'd end up with square eyes from watching too much TV, maybe that has happened to you :D
  6. If you're looking at them in a certain image program, check if you've got the grid turned on!
  7. Try cutting out the fowl and giving other meats?
  8. Yet ... that doesn't teach her not to bark at things. Removing the problem doesn't solve it.
  9. When I was little, one of my grandmothers dogs (a Bichon) would go hunting through bags in the the cupboard around chrismas and easter and open presents containing chocolate (wrappers/boxes and all) and then eat them all. Lots of puking ensued, but he never failed to go back and do it again. Not the fastest learner (nor was my grandmother, apparently) but luckily it never did anything but make him puke for hours. However, I've known a dog who ate only a few bites of chocolate and it killed him, so it really is an individual thing. I'd never risk it. If you really want to give your dog chocolate, use carob.
  10. Anything with chocolate in it is bad - and chocolake cake has chocolate in it.
  11. My Max loves white nectarine too, moreso than the yellow ones. I think there will be a lot of disappointed 4 legged people when winter comes and the yummy summer fruit disappears!
  12. You'd prefer the dog be left outside alone, not being interacted with than potentionally find a new loving home? Yep, you're overreacting :) edit: Love how they say "We have kids too" How much are they selling the kids for?
  13. My pup recently started sniffing her wee after she'd done it, and I just thought it was another weird quirk of hers. Turns out she had a UTI! The little tyke knew something wasn't right, if I'd paid more attention to her wee sniffing I could have caught it earlier.
  14. In my research I found there were two groups - PetPlan and everyone else. Everyone else was exactly the same as they are underwritten by the same group. PetPlan seems to be the only one underwritten by Allianz, and not Holland and they seem to have better coverage for most things.
  15. There should be an "other" - sometimes when it's hot my pup sleeps in the kitchen coz she loves the tiles. Otherwise she's in her crate in the loungeroom.
  16. Evie is tiny! She's so adorable :D Of course the others are too!
  17. He's 4 months old, of course he's hyper-active ;) Puppy school is for you, more than the puppy. What did you learn, and are you putting the skills to use? What do you do when he bites? And 30 mins isn't really enough excercise for a 4 month old JRT/Beagle? Also most places don't take dogs that are 4 months old for training - that's meant to be your job ;) edited to clarify my last point: at Hanrob they have to be 6 months for training.
  18. I know it sucks and it's upsetting, but it won't get better overnight. Like anything pups learn in their own time, so I would listen to all the suggestions of earplugs for a while to drown out the noise. But if he's not sleeping at night, he must be sleeping a lot during the day, so try and keep him awake during the day as much as possible otherwise he learns night is for fun, day is for sleep.
  19. Do you have a specific style of photo you're looking for? If you get lots, you could create a rotating banner so it loads one with a new set of photos each time the page loads :D
  20. Start with buying a proper crate. Are you doing any crate training with him, or just sticking him in and expecting him to love it? Are you really wearing him out with excercise/intense play before bed? How much sleep does he get during the day? edited to add: do you give him something to sleep with that had your scent on it? I do pyjama tops with my pup - so I wear a PJ top for two nights, then pup gets it for a few nights. Then I wash it, and give her the one I wore I for the last few nights. I bought a whole bunch of tshirts from an op-shop just for that purpose, in case she decided to trash them, which she doesn't. You can also get a spray that's called "DAP" (dog appeasing pheramone) which is designed to calm them a bit. I've never used it so can't comment, but it might be worth looking into?
  21. Doing anything will create a habit, so if you can ignore her and let THAT be the habit created, it's worth it. I know it's frustrating, only a few weeks ago I was in tears over the exact same issue. My girl had gone from a consistant 5am wakeup to a consistent 4am wakeup and it just wasn't going to work for my schedule (5am is horribly early too, but I adjusted my schedule becuse that seemed to be her "natural" wakeup time). Try giving her something to chew on, a pigs ear or something that will last her a good half hour when she wakes at 4am. It could create a habit of waking for her "treat" but it also gives you more sleep. My pup doesn't use her crate during the day, but she does get fed all her meals in it to make it a happy place. I know it's not the advice you want to hear, but the only thing that will work is letting her cry it out and eventually realise crying doesn't get her released.
  22. If I saw a name on a dog my first thought would be that it was it's name and not the breed. I don't imagine many people wear their dogs breed on the collar/tag, so name would be the firt logical conclusion.
  23. My pup does that, she just wants company! In an effort to not wake the whole neighbourhood I used to give her a kong when she woke around 4am to keep her quiet, but in the end I decided that was just rewarding her so I stopped and now let her cry. Gradually she is getting better (she's 4 months old now) and doesn't cry as loudly and has stopped bashing at the crate. It just takes time. You've got a 9 week old pup, forget the concept of sleep :p
  24. Hah, if only the politics in this country were as fresh and healthy as what my dog eats for breakfast!
