My pup was trained to use a guinea pig type drip thing, I'm on my phone so can't link, but they can't knock it off because it's not a bowl but it does require some training. However my guys drink from pop-top water bottles so it's kind of similar.

There is a big difference between stolen and missing.

Not sure I'd want to be waiting another week to get them to the vet if they've been having diarrhea consistently. What about trying some bland boiled chicken and rice for a while, see if that settles? And make sure he's getting enough water as diarrhea can cause dehydration.

Boston was with his two brothers (and mum and dad and uncles and grandfather) until he was 3 months old, and when we went back to visit when he was about 8 months old he ran up to his brothers and was all wiggly and then was like "hey, wanna nap?" and they all piled on top of each other like they did when they were born and went to sleep But both my pugs will seek out other pugs in the park and play exclusively with them, even if there are heaps of other dogs around. And most pugs are the same. Sometimes they let another squishy face play too, but it's usually if there is one pug, the others will find them.

we do . If it was for the dogs, I'm sure I could find the time. For myself though.. meeeeeh, stock cubes. Having said that, if feet are involved, hell no. Everything about chicken feet makes me want to vomit up everything I've ever eaten plus some future food. Oh you'd love when I feed them to Max, she runs around for a while with the foot in her mouth then swallows it whole and for the next half hour brings it back up and swallows it over and over until it's just right

I always get really weird looks when I rock up to the chicken shops and ask for 30 chicken frames  It's usually "how many, 3?" "No, 30 - three zero" followed by this look that makes me think they think I'm going to sit down and eat them myself or something. I go to the same place nearly every month, she's never asked me what I use them for. But I wonder what other people use them for, if not for dogs

Yep, we've tried every position possible, she's even escaped out of her harness whilst being held in the air. At the vet it takes at least 3 or 4 to hold her down. She's had her nails done regularly since she was born, she's just a terror. And of course she more she thrashes the more often a nail gets cut too far (black nails are awesome ) so that makes it worse. When she realises she can't go anywhere she bites and pees. Last weekend I had gardening gloves on so the biting didn't bother as much, but eventually it still hurts. She won't take treats or anything when she's like that either. Boston's breeder does their nails whenever I visit her and she's a lot more confident with Max than I am, but she's in Canberra so we don't get there often. About willing to go just to get Max's nails done

The only thing with a dremel is it takes a lot longer. I have a dog that turns into a feral thrashing biting peeing mess at nail cutting time, and the dremel is great because we don't get any bleeding from cut quicks, except she's still a feral thrashing biting peeing mess but for a lot longer.

The cordless dremel is also a ton easier than the corded one, just takes out an annoying obstacle that becomes almost dangerous when you're fighting with a demonic dog

When Were You Convinced Your Dog Could Understand English?
minimax replied to Leah82's topic in General Dog Discussion
They don't understand english as a language, they understand the sounds and associated commands you've taught them. If they understood English they would understand words they hadn't been exposed to. A friend has two dogs that know commands only in Afrikaans, because their previous owners trained the dogs this way. If you pronounce the word even slightly incorrectly, they don't understand it (and they prefer if you have a South African accent  ). So they don't understand Afrikaans as a language, they understand the sounds they were trained to understand. -
The dremel goes really slowly because it files, not cuts, so if you see blood it's not even a drop, and it basically cauterizes quickly and stops bleeding.

Well that's the most pointless article ever written. After hours things cost more, what s surprise
-
Oh, ouch! Max's are overdue as last weekend I managed two nails before she went too demonic on me and I couldn't handle the biting. Boston has one curly nail that grows under so his are done regularly.

When I had my talking budgie Simon years ago, when my OH asked what we should get for dinner, Simon would say "let's get a pizza", because that was usually my answer. I think animals do understand english, or any other language. There have been many doco's where animals have been raised in 1 country & are sent to another country & don't understand the commands given in the new countries language. I don't think they understand any language, but they understand the sounds by repetition and reward (intentional or otherwise). -

What flea stuff do you use, and does it cover worms? As we use Advantix for ticks it doesn't cover worms, so we use Interceptor Spectrum usually every 6 weeks.

My pugs snore like freight trains, which I know because they both sleep on my head

It's handy for medical history/genetic illnesses or diseases. But in a word or two as per the list? History, or background. Still sounds weak though when limited to two words like that

The breeder says he's very emotionally needy, and has been rehomed several times to homes with familes, kids, stay at home parents etc and she keeps taking him back and re-homing him when it doesn't work out :/ Does that mean she won't be taking him back this time Sounds like he will need a very special home to help build his confidence.. She didn't say either way, but she's not in Tas. -
