  1. Dog love those patient clowns. As a treat after the woman who was photographing them let them out to see her chooks and guinea pigs etc. Gus enjoyed it, Rosie was thinking about how to eat them, I am sure...Haha.
  2. Check those wacky ears! We got the pooches photos back today, christmas cards are ordered and I love them! Little creeps they are!
  3. I like the sound of that! I will be the hungover idiot with the hyper black dog.
  4. Bump! Any other Melbourne people making an appearance? :) Sorry SC, No idea where but I'm sure there's someone to ask on the day!
  5. I wanted you all to share my joy. Sorry, totally OT. :)
  6. We call Gus's seawater poop 'The brown curtain' It is reminiscent of washing off a brown paint brush under a strong stream of water. Bonus points for the loud splash and sheer volume. Maybe if he didn't swim with his mouth open...
  7. Me too, never smelled a doggy wee smell in the yard. The only time I notice it is when gus has been drinking seawater and then let me tell you the wee is not your biggest issue...
  8. I would pick doggie licks over cleaning a toilet too! One makes you happy, the other not so much...
  9. CONGRATS GUYS! What a year next year is shaping up to be for your guys! I am so thrilled for you!
  10. The opinion added somebody else's views to the discussion. Because they differ to the majority, how does that equate to stirring?. Everybody is entititled to have their opinions respected, no matter whether people agree with them or not. Many older threads are bumped on this forum, two weeks is hardly old. Not everyone lives on this forum constantly. Nobody deserves to be berated, ganged up on, and abused, merely for offering a different view. Now I guess it is my turn to be abused as I have not gone along with the majority and belted Bigdaz around the ears. EFS. Not going to berate you or beat you up because the way you are presenting your argument and disagreement is respectful and well reasoned, I can't imagine any other reason than stirring the pot to be honest. There was no reason to imply the OP is a poor dog owner because he did things differently to her, that's what bugged me.
  11. Because the opinion didn’t add anything to the discussion, it was an old thread, the poster said they didn’t know anything about the breed and shared experience RE his chosen breed and the post was inflammatory and unnecessary. It didn’t contribute anything but a lot of assumptions IMO. Only someone intent on stirring would bump up an inactive thread with such junk.
  12. The problem is what do they do? If he is the legal owner and they have no other contacts how do they determine who is fit and who isn't? Many people are aggressive without having health issues, I've seen it so many times. We often put holds on animals that are surrendered if we think the owner may come back which is a good way to prevent these situations. That's exactly what I was thinking. A 24-48 hour holding time. It does seem a very quick turn around. I feel for you guys, I truly do.
  13. Its not ringworm is it? I know that can look similar. It could be chewing too.
  14. Exactly! Well travelled, well loved and a fabulous life to leave behind!
  15. VM what a life he had though! I bet it was full of adventures, fun, awesome meals, stolen treats, laughs, runs and car trips. Its an awful time but I don't think you can doubt what a life you guys shared!
  16. Its not the staff, but the system. I do feel like there's a duty of care to ensure those legal documents being the surrender documents are being filled out legally. If someone comes in and is ranting and raving and carrying on like a pork chop perhaps consideration needs to be paid to whether that person has the capacity to be filling in the forms. I absolutely sympathise with the staff, they're just cogs in a machine essentially and they must see some horrifying things but its just so sad. My grandma has cancer and if this was her and her cat I would be destroyed. That's the families last link to someone who isn't quite with them anymore and I bet that dog bought him a lot of joy too.
  17. Wow. Haha. BigDaz and his staffy can live whatever life they please. I'm not sure I can spot a positive post from this user, don't take it to heart. My retriever is currently snuffling about in the rain by himself while we are all still in bed, door is open so he will be back, but he genuinely likes being outside sometimes. Ignore the Grinch here, you and your family are battling through a crummy time and your dog sounds like he has a great life. Keep doing what you're doing and if you ever need a hand, call out. There's some lovely people on here
  18. If you ever get back into it the DOL market will be here. Haha. Its so hard to find nice leather collars made with love and care!
  19. That is heartbreaking. That poor family, the poor man. I'm disgusted no one took more than 5 minutes to think it over, no next of kin was contacted, by the sounds of it they needed to contact someone if he was in there abusing people and flipping out. That really didn't raise any concern for what might be actually going on? So horrified.
  20. I love the memes. Moon Moon is about the only husky I'd own. I like a dog not smarter than me. Haha, and like others have had some crummy experiences and no positives. Moon Moon memes are my kinda dog though!
  21. I wonder if you know if she's good with other dogs, cats etc?
  22. If a retriever is that mad for retrieving its uncontrollable that is a wrong temperament! my golden boy is on the go and loves retrieving and obedience but is easy to live with and his dad is a Sup CH and mum is a Gr CH these dogs where breed for a job and they should be able to do that job And do well in the show ring! not like our poor cocker spaniel half hour run in a park and I'm an hour grooming the knots out of the coat :-( the flushing instinct is still there but the coat is wrong :-( for what they where breed to do! Easy to live with doesn't mean would make a good guide dog. My retriever loves his retrieving and is great at home but he would make a craphouse guide dog. Haha. There may well be dogs that could fit all, but I bet they are few and far between.
  23. Um, that handmade collar is beautiful! You should go into business, Kirislin!
