  1. I did not say the scar was a huge price to pay FFS. My post was related to the question of why the vet lifted the scab, which Rappie kindly answered sensibly and informatively. Some people give no thought to things others see as relevant or important. Calm down, I wasn't having a go at you. I was stating I would be happy to put up with a scar for the reasons and purposes mentioned above. I didn't say your care about the scar was unimportant. I was literally saying a scar wouldn't be a blip on my radar, if it took my dog being bald as a badger to ensure he was happy and healthy I would be wielding the clippers. Nothing to do with what you do or don't see as important, but what I see as important.
  2. Hahaha!!! We have seen a few of these, the awkward stiff backflip is a big one at our house! We are teaching Gus to 'catch' food and balls and frisbees, and it is not an easy task, ahaha.
  3. I would rather my vet be super careful and to be honest, a little scar is a very, very small price to pay for that thoroughness. I wouldn't even pay it any thought.
  4. Also I believe the bites can fester under scabs. I'd rather a little scar than to risk a large open wound after
  5. We have cameras we bought and popped up ourselves that feed back to PC to record and I can check in via my phone. I think they cost about $200? Worth every cent! Have a look on Kogan, be wary of the picture quality though, some are pretty rubbish.
  6. Haha, I absolutely believe you! They don't feature on the list, but its early days. When you get one you're welcome to enable! Ahaha.
  7. I don't feel like I could ever have a long enough life for all the dogs I want to own in it! My list is very long, does that make me less dedicated to the dogs I do and might own? I love the dogs I have now, I cherish every second of their lives and make every moment as good as I can for them, doesn't mean I can't love other breeds and want to own them in the future, come on guys.
  8. That's what we do usually? I think it's a membership fee of like 7-14 bucks if you aren't a dogs vic member, from memory and like $2 a go. It's really good fun, even if they totally flop like Rosie everyone has a laugh, the operator guys are really good.
  9. We have them popping up in the yard this year, and we never have before. WTF. I am keeping a close eye on the dogs but Gus picks up loads of them, the jerk. :)
  10. I think the article said it was found by a fox den, so perhaps a fox. I work for an animal transport co and I transported a guys croc last week, I guess issue is you would need the relevant permits and licenses...
  11. https://au.news.yahoo.com/vic/a/25665147/crocodile-found-at-doncaster-dog-park/?cmp=fb Wow. We've been a bit and Gus has a paddle in the lake, lucky he didn't pee this guy off!
  12. Our spoiled little brats are getting a Tuffy octopus, an empty nester duck, a babble ball (which I already regret!) and a water bottle santa like this, http://www.amazon.com/Kyjen-2811-Buddies-Holiday-Squeaking/dp/B00CO2U6XS Plus a little stocking of treats from the Australian Pet Treat Company. I also want something good for the beach, any ideas most welcome! Spoiled monkeys! I have to find something for the cats too…
  13. Agree. Sounds like a breeder I wouldn't want a bar of, what could she is trying to glean from a photo? I would much rather someone I could build a relationship with, not someone who was suspicious from the get go. Having said that, it is important to have a long email or phone chat initially to give the breeder info. I wrote an essay to my dogs breeder about who we are, what we want, what we are looking for in a pet, what we can offer a pet, what we like to do, our work, our housing situation and I didn't gloss over any of the rubbish bits either, we rent, OH works from home, but can work very long days, I work normal days but start early usually, but finish early, whereas OH starts late and finishes late. I also made clear our plans for the future RE kids, work etc etc. It might be worth making yourself a template email you can chop and change as required, and make it known they're not the only breeder you're talking to as well, otherwise that just seems rude. :)
  14. It probably has a lot to do with the heat too, my dogs don't smell but the vac can if I am not diligent cleaning it. Hot dog fluff, yucky! Haha.
  15. Have you changed all your filters? That can help. You can also get little smelly sachets for the bag, I'd say time to replace ALL the filters.
  16. Hazy last time we went everyone was impeccably behaved! I was super impressed! Would be lovely to see everyone! PS I hope there's a Grey stand too! I know there is lure coursing too.
  17. Might be worth asking if you can have an independent vet check before you commit? If you offer to pay and have a proper look over by a vet (and resist falling in love) that might help. I would worry about other issues too, tbh.
  18. We work with them at work and they are amazing!
  19. HAHA! I'll take our idiots too, you will know us by the almost unbearably excited Flat Coat and the totally unenthused boyfriend. Perhaps we should organise a spot to meet or we could have a DOL picnic lunch! Haha.
  20. Maddie's long lost twin, I don't call her the beady eyed assassin for nothing. That's why I named her Maddie as she's M-A-D! She is very cuddly to me but she's a cunning little piece of work I'm the same Steph I just love my boys, I've always had them and I've never really thought about their penis. Balls on the other hand nup...they aren't attractive on any species O.o The only time the doodle got any thought was when Gus was about 8 months old and I was convinced he had an infection, you think green-yellow discharge you think infection, right? The young vet was swabbing away and the older vet walked past and explained its just doodle-goo. I was embarrassed as hell, but at least I wasn't the young vet! As for balls they will get any species into trouble they're not equipped to get out of alone, every time! Maddie sounds very similar! Give her an inch and she will take a mile, give her nothing and she probably will too. Rosie works my partner like you wouldn't believe. He's so soft on her and she knows it! caught her on the bench today opening the butter cloche and she took off to bed where OH was and got under the blankets and acted like a beaten dog, shameless! Gus on the other hand, will steal undies or a sock and bring it to you as a gift. No sense in that one...
  21. Honestly I don't think you could pay me to have another female dog. Boys are so much more devoted and cuddly! Rosie is a beeotch. And she too lifts her leg and does the half handstand. She's also cunning, a plotter and a thief. She's nuts! Haha.
  22. I KNOW. Hahaha. I honestly could put that video in black and white and be convinced they had stolen my dog. God love that big black twit. Haha. TSD I haven't had a chance to tell you about his love affair with the chickens yet! Definitely the smartest dog there though.
  23. Uh, did these guys paint Gus and steal him? I am 100% sure he would do the same!
