Help Please - Anxious Dog With No Off Switch
Steph M replied to *kirty*'s topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Hey Kirty, if you need another slightly neurotic, go all day type, Rosie would be up for a play date? She's pretty good at the odd grumble at humpers, but will run and play for hours and is anyone's bestie. Let me know if you want to utilise her staying power! I'll bring a takeaway coffee...haha. -
Not to me. You've had a dog display aggression to people. If pushed or cornered, you have to wonder how far she'll go. I think you need to start being far more careful and assertive with people who want to interact with her. I also would invest in a muzzle for her next trip to the vets. If she was mine, I'd be concerned enough to seek some qualified professional advice about this. She's a big dog. If she escalates to biting, she'll do a lot of damage. You will now also be on edge and she'll read it. I'd suggest you call in some help so you know what you're dealing with. How much obedience training has she had? Absolutely. She's a big dog. This could blow out very fast.

Are We Overthinking/over-reacting To Our Dogs' Behaviours?
Steph M replied to tdierikx's topic in General Dog Discussion
I wholeheartedly agree. Some great info about, but a lot of chaff to wade through. -
Ugh!!!! Ours does this too. The most commonly uttered phrase around here is 'ohh you bitch' with a sigh. Will have a look at some of these posts this morning!

We signed up! Potentially embarrassing... :)

Thanks guys! They had an absolute blast. They will be most annoyed that's the last holiday for a while. Haha.

And a bonus photo, hahaha!!!

Gus and Rosie did Dinner Plain last weekend. Had to share some funny photos!

All the crates are sterilized but I'd definitely make contact! If the pup boarded or was transported in the same van as other pups or just so the vans can be sterilized and anyone he had contact with along the way can be notified.

Argh! So glad he came out OK. One of my nightmares too!

Sa Nurse Facing Deregistration Over Bestiality Charges...
Steph M replied to cannibalgoldfish's topic in In The News
I'm actually in awe anyone could compare a bored dog to one who's been sexually abused. I guess if they can't say no we can assume they might like it and carry on as is. What a dangerous precedent to set. I can't believe that, I'm repulsed. -

Agree. Jesus... -
Hi Guys, I just replied to a comment (I suspect from a DOLer) re shipping to Aus and she said I can email for a price. If anyone else is really keen I'd be happy to orchestrate a group order or at very least post the pricing.
-
Are you sure that's the real reason? Our park always has heaps, and people often take a handful. I'd imagine they pay barely anything for those rolls at parks, I'd be willing to bet that wasn't the real/only reason.
-
If we could.do a group order I'd be in! These look rad!
-
I have no idea what we buy, whatever is around. I will say though, I won't fall for the thin.ones again nothing quite compares to the feeling of your fingers breaking the bag....YUCK.
-
Yeah I don't think I'd be laughing, I'd be off to the vet.
-
Haha, I agree T, what's a holiday sans dogs like again?!
-
???? That surely depends on the male but my two male greys who were neutered at 4 and 6 ish have never shown any such inclination. I'd go with a male personally. 2 girls are tough enough. This on all fronts.

That's exactly what we do. No faffing, no sniffing, no praise and certainly no getting in our bed for morning cuddle time. Its not that I worry about forcing him to hold on, I know the jerk can, but the nosing and the snuffling and whinging beside the bed! Enough to drive me nuts. I've always resisted crates as we just don't have the room or the inclination, I quite like them on their bed and they're pretty good. I might think about it though, TSD. You are the master! And yes, perhaps he does get a leeeetle too much freedom. Ahem. Haha.
