  1. Whaaaaaat?! How? Why? I don't wanna know! Wtf? Hahahaha.
  2. Hahaha, curse those irresistible cat nuggets!
  3. I've never heard of that, Hankdog. I do know I've never seen a bone from a chicken neck come out the other end. They strike me as fairly soft and are easy digested, at least by my goons. Could still be an issue though? We've never come across it though.
  4. I can tell you from experience, which is only my experience, Gus is a rampant shite eater, always has been, lots of FC's like to sample their own wares, I hear. The only thing that stopped it was going totally raw. We haven't had an incident in ages, boy do I almost miss not shoveling... NB cat turds are still like truffles to him. Bummer. Haha.
  5. I know lots of amazing dog people who work more than 8 hours and have some of the happiest, healthiest and best adjusted dogs out. Imagine ruling the majority of society out as puppy owners, that's a dangerous position right there.
  6. That's it, she agrees that he shouldn't keep bandaiding the problem and either needs to shit or get off the pot, basically. But has only just come to this conclusion. Issue is they don't live together, nor can she push getting rid of the dog, as its not hers and she's a bit chicken in that respects. I almost want to say whipped. Haha. All she can do is make suggestions and say she won't have the dog at her house any more. He needs to make time or make a decision. Drives me insane. There's hundreds of lovely dogs who are assessed properly and presented honestly in rescue orgs everywhere who are waiting and waiting for homes and he's wasting time with one he doesn't have time for and gets no enjoyment from living with.
  7. I'm having real trouble at the moment with my mum. Her partner rescued a husky a few months back. The (interstate) rescue org either didn't know or weren't overly forthcoming with a lot of details. This dog has serious issues. He can't keep her in, she climbs the 6ft fences, she broke a window and jumped through it at one point and just sails over any fencing fix he whips up. She gets 10k plus of biking a day but no mental stimulation or anything. I've sent umpteen links for social sledding, lure coursing, behaviourists (Nekhbet, haha) and things to keep this dog happy and busy. All too time consuming as he works a lot. Dog continues to get out, stroll around and wind up at the vet awaiting collection. The other (bigger) problem is that she's really DA. she can't be walked on paths as without warning she leans over and bites dogs passing by. He resists muzzlingher cause its cruel. *rolly eye man* Mainly little dogs, but its escalating. Mum has been babysitting her of a weekend recently, and my sister and 10mth old niece live with her and I've been telling her you need to watch her around that baby. Don't let the baby near her, I don't trust her. I've seen her get in the zone and go after a swf at a park and the owner of the dog says "the vet thinks she's just overexcited" but it looks like dominance to me, interrupting others play with aggression and reacting to other dogs barking or anything with attack mode. Anyway, mum also has 3 cats and 2 small dogs. Course she does. The shih tzu took an instant dislike to her and stands her ground, I told mum she should listen to the dogs. The dogs speak the same language. Rosie did the same thing, and other dogs run off yelping as she comes close. Long story short there's been a few easy broken up scuffles, which mum has "had a handle on" aka been around to intervene. She wasn't fast enough the other day, the cats are locked in the other side of the house but the dogs were together while mum was in the bathroom and this bloody husky grabbed Tunie the shih tzu by the hind leg and dragged her outside, away from mum. She was going to kill her too. My sister was hanging washing out and kicked the dog away (getting a bruised hand from a bite in the process) but she had flipped tunie over and was going to kill her. Mum has been letting the baby pat her and eventually baby will be walking and squealing and I just shudder to think. Petunia is fine, bruised and shaken but fine now. We took her out with Gus the harmless the day after and plied her with cheese and love, so she's back on the big dog horse. But I'm.so peed off, to.put it nicely. How could you risk your own pets and grandchild for some idiot dog? She knew it wasn't safe! And I told her what I'd be doing with the dog and got told its not my business. I'd be putting her down, tbh. This guy doesn't have the time to commit to a behaviour mod program, I wouldn't be sending her back or making her someone else's issue. That would be it for me. Especially as he can't keep her in. She's going to kill something. Mum has said she can't have her around there any more, and he's got some sedatives from the vet but he's just taken on more than he can deal with. He's had a husky before and assumed they will all be as easy as the last and can't keep up and she's taking full advantage. Pisses me right off!! /rant.
  8. Mrs RB. I don't know, on one hand the dog looks older and there may be an underlying cause, but I'd find it hard either way.MMuch easier to diet a dog than ourselves, and they couldnt not notice that. OH's mother has incredibly fat dogs and I hate visiting them. The dogs are too fat to get up the stairs and aren't well dogs.
  9. Absolutely. Plus my dogs would rather drink from puddles and creeks than their bowl, let alone filtered water. Seems a huge waste of money, resources and time to buy bottled.
  10. What a prick People like him have taken the simple pleasure of walking my greyhounds away from me...arsewipe He is, he just has no idea. Would you believe he's an army lawyer as well? Wtf? I don't think its intentional to let it out, he just can't keep it in. It attacked mums shih tzu last night I have just found out. I'd be putting it down. Fuming today.
  11. That's the one! I dont love the idea much either, although I am sick of seeing posts from the general public (usually on facebook) when they've found a dog saying they won't call a vet or hand the dog to a pound as it isn't fair on the dog etc. There should be a fine enforced for that. Thanks RuralPug. FWIW I don't think much of the owner either. He's hugely over committed and can't give this dog what it needs
  12. Has anyone seen this? Something about new requirements for found dogs going to the pound? Would like it to pass on to mothers dropkick partner who's DA dog 'takes itself for a walk' daily/he can't keep it in. Which apparently is fine cause the vet picks it up every day. What wank. :)
  13. Shame its not Saturday! You'd have a deal on Saturday!
  14. I don't disagree at all, but there's ways of making the point that aren't so abrupt. Not everyone is lucky enoigh to have the same knowledge you guys do, and its done now. No use pointing out faults without any advice for moving forward. Thought there is a school of thought that premature desexing of large breed dogs can be very detrimental to their correct growth?
  15. You had him desexed before he was mature, your vet xrayed an immature puppy and declared he's got ed and hd, what a shemozzle all round that one is. Speak to the breeder, which is what you should have done in the first place before you whipped off his nuts and ruined any chance of correct growth and development. Oh come on... That's far from helpful.
  16. We feed everything tbh. Ours are totally raw and depends what's on special where. Tasman meats and even Coles and our local butcher/fishmonger get good business from us. Salmon heads are good here, lamb necks/flaps/shanks. Hearts, liver occasionally and the odd bit of tripe. Beef brisket rarely, chicken frames, wings, drumsticks and marylands all a hit. We like to mix it up. Try to avoid pet mince but the butcher ocassionally has some really chunky.mince he does for dogs so we grab some for hurried breakies etc. Haha.
  17. That's not a bad idea. Well worth having two, I just need something to last more than a few trips!
  18. The one I got is about 1.3m, so well and truly! Course.mine sleep like demented Siamese twins so it had to be. Haha. I was thinking about painting it and getting some cheap cushions seeing as its now part of our room...sigh. Haha. It cost $10 for bed, lamswool underlay and sheets, go forth and Gumtree! Haha. I felt bad giving it to the beasts though! I also made the mistake of positioning it under a heating duct. The smell of hot dog fart greeted me when I got out of the shower today.
  19. Hahaha! It was much cheaper than a trampoline bed and easier to replace the foam than the whole thing. Plus I can wash their sheets! Grubs. The Dublin Dog collars look good! Off to Google!
  20. Not at all! Gus has a little jowl too and the other grub hasn't got much fur so not rubbing is important! But she's so pppprrreeetttyyy!
  21. HankOdie (I almost got lazy and abbreviated your name to HO. Awkward!) I literally tell my two they are why we can't have nice things once a day, if not more. Same as your place, if its not muddy its chewed, if its not nailed down its paraded through the house and yard like a prize. Haha. I've given up on beds. I actually just bought a second hand toddler bed like this; Some Clark Rubber thick memory foam and some cheap sheets and put that up the end of our room for them. Cost about $20 plus some old throw rugs and voila! Can't be taken outside. Haha. Still very much farted on though.
  22. And there's nothing wrong with that! If someone would feed me, give me clean PJs and leave me nothing else to worry about I'd be so set!
  23. He's flamboyant! Haha. I swear they're just for when we go away to the snow. *shifty eyes*
